As a professional photographer I love this camera. It is amazing how much tech and options are packed into such a small package. This camera is great for shooting on the go video or behind the scenes. It is also great for vlogging. Canon has given this camera some of the best wireless features which allow you to do things such as YouTube Steaming or easy file transfer to a phone or tablet. It also takes extremely great pictures for being just a point and shoot camera. This is thanks to a wide aperture and large focal lengths. The rear screen is great because it goes down at a slight angle and it can also flip up 180 degrees for selfies or vlogging. At the wide end the focal length is wide enough to shoot videos or photos of yourself handheld. This camera is not able to compete with a DSLR or Mirrorless to its fullest extent but if using it for video or occasional/casual photos it is a great option. The user interface is easy to use but mirrors that of canon DSLR’s which is awesome. The portability and compact size of this camera make it a great option for anyone who would like to get a little more out of their photos or videos without getting a full blown DSLR camera.

This Camera is absolutely amazing. The Picture quality is so good. All my pictures come out crystal clear.Love the way it has a touch screen it gives you options to change the setting at a touch of your fingertips which makes it easier to set the Camera the way you want it. The 4K video really creates a sharp image. Another feature is that you can share all the images taken from the camera to your phone. You do have to download an app to your phone. It connects right away. Love the way I dont have to connect any cables just to get the pictures to my phone. It really makes it easy to share your pictures on social media right away. Im so in love with my new camera. Cant wait to take family pictures and capture many memories. Super lightweight as well.

    Spectacular hardware; imperfect operation

I purchased this primarily for making 4k video creation portable and easy for members of my team at work. The build quality, image quality from the optics & sensor, and physical controls are generally excellent. For those wanting to shoot video, this is one of the only advanced point-and-shoot cameras to combine full-sensor (i.e., uncropped) 4k video shooting, a microphone jack, and a flip-up screen. The reality of using this has fallen short of my hopes. 4k video, as widely reported, causes overheating, making the 10-minute maximum clip length a moot point. Even in cool conditions, the camera shuts itself down due to overheating, even though the body of the camera is not warm to the touch. That suggests that there is inadequate heat sink to allow heat to radiate out of the device. Auto-focus is usable, but far from perfect. No auto-focus system can read one's mind, and a large-ish one-inch sensor means that autofocus accuracy matters more than on a smartphone, where less precise focus accuracy will still get your subject in focus due to the much greater depth of field intrinsic to tiny smartphone image sensors. This WILL recognize faces in most situations where someone is facing the camera. Be ready to switch autofocus modes and to use the touch screen to tell the camera what to focus on in trickier situations. This is pretty terrible for fast action, but it can create perfect results for portraits or anything not moving quickly. And a quick still photo is very possible in full auto face detect in many cases. When in focus, video and photo quality are extraordinary. I have professional full-frame DSLR gear and a Panasonic LX100 II (a larger micro-four-thirds sensor). This produces better RAW files than a one-inch sensor really has any right to. In daylight, I had a hard time distinguishing files from this camera from my $3,000 DSLR, and in dim light, much detail can be mined from the raw files with surprisingly low noise. I purchased this for real estate videos, so the slow-ish auto-focusing system that limits high-speed hunting in favor of smoother, more gradual focus shifting, is generally okay--if it will shoot long enough without overheating. Firmware has already undergone one major update to partially address autofocus issues. I'd love to see another that follows what Sony has done: raise or eliminate the overheating threshold to allow longer and more consistent use of 4k. The closest competitor with a mic jack and uncropped 4k is the Sony RX100 VII. But that is many hundreds of dollars more expensive, and its much longer zoom range means that it lets in less than half the light as compared to this camera at all areas of its shorter (but still very good) zoom range. For vlogging or short 4k video clips with mostly static subjects, the quality and flexibility of having a mic jack cannot be beat.

My review on the Canon Mark III PowerShot G7 camera is quite simple. Canon hit a homerun on this camera. I truly have zero cons about this camera. The pictures this camera takes are clear and the zoom is precise. I would recommend this camera to a beginner or an expert photographer. This is a simple point and shoot camera that works with ease. Give this camera shy, you won’t regret it. I would recommend this camera to a beginner or an expert photographer. This is a simple point and shoot camera that works with ease. I absolutely love my Canon Powershot G7X Mark III! The image quality is fantastic, with sharp details and vibrant colors. The camera's autofocus system is fast and accurate, making it easy to capture great shots in any lighting conditions. The 4K video recording capabilities are impressive, and the tilting touchscreen LCD is a great feature for composing shots from different angles. Overall, this camera is compact, powerful, and perfect for capturing high-quality photos and videos on the go. Highly recommend!

I'll state that this is the camera that I've ever owned. The only cameras that I've used have been on cellphones. The Canon PowerShot G7 Mark III is definitely worthy of it's price tag. From taking photos to capturing video, I have not ran into any issues. I'm starting out in the photography world, and this camera is doing a great job for my novice status. You have full control with all controls such as ISO, apeture, f stop, white balance, etc... Also, to address the focusing issues that people have been talking about...With the new firmware update I can say I have not experienced any issues with the auto focus with photos or videos. With the 4k video capture the stabilization is amazing! Even if you were running the video would come out smooth. When transferring photos I tried using the wifi and the sd card I purchased separately. Both worked great so I could edit the pictures afterwards. Only thing is with the CR3 Raw format you have to use certain photo editing software, or convert them. I would have to say that the camera is great for beginners, and for the pro who needs an on the go camera instead of lugging around their DSLR. I will continue to use the Canon PowerShot G7 Mark III until I need a DSLR, but I don't see the need to after using this one!

We live in a generation of cell phone photographs. And why not? The cameras incorporated in modern cell phones are ridiculous The clarity, processing ability, and convenience because its always there. But can cell phones really compete with a modern quality purpose built digital camera? My first impression of the Canon Powershot Mark III was that feels SOLID. This camera is heavier than you would think and you can usually tell the quality of a device my how solid it feels. And to dive further, every knob, button, and switch on this camera feels VERY well made. I have no doubt that this camera will survive travel and usage for some time. When its comes down to using this camera, my experience has been that there is a STEEP learning curve to it. I am not the most experienced in sophisticated camera usage. I have used my Samsung phone a lot, I LOVE using my variety of GoPros, but I wanted to graduate to a true "skilled" camera. There are LOTS of settings, the camera will integrate into your phone, it might even fold laundry for you. I have used this camera very heavily throughout the holidays and I am pretty sure I havent even scratched the surface on what this camera is capable of. What this camera does not do...FOCUS! I have read reviews prior about this camera and seen the complaints regarding the focus speed of this camera, but Canon came out and said this issue was resolved with a software update. It has not. This camera takes a LONG time to auto focus. I took my daughter to see Santa before Christmas and thought this would be a GREAT opportunity to get acquainted with this camera. Static shot in a controlled environment. Easy, right? NOPE. This camera would NOT focus. After 2-3 minutes of my toddler sitting quietly on Santa's lap and behaving extremely well, this camera would not focus at all and I could not get a picture of my little one with Santa at all. Luckily the retail store Santa was at was supplying free pictures. This is unacceptable to me. There was nothing complex to this photo at all. I was able to catch other family photos in different environments, but none more important than the picture I missed out on. Also, going from very cold outside to temperature controlled indoors I have had issues with the lens fogging over and taking a long time to become usable again. With practice, I believe I will get better with this camera. I have a vacation in May in which I am heading out of country and will be taking this camera with me and video blogging. I am hoping by then I can get more familiar and take all of the great pictures and videos in the world. But I still feel that this camera and its auto focus needs an overhaul. Until then, I really can't recommend this camera. Long story short...at present time I can not see a reason to bring this camera with you as its difficulty of use and the auto focus is terrible. Your cell phone will do everything you need and them some. This camera will leave you frustrated. Unless you want to video blog exclusively, there are most likely better options for you out there.

I'm gonna start with the most common question, is it worth it the price?... absolutely! I was worried about the AF because I read many reviews talking about this problem, I decided to take the risk because I knew that canon would release a firmware update. I have to say that I recorded some videos at night before the firmware update, they looked very good even though the auto focus was not working properly. After I download and install the firmware update, I confirm that I chose right, the camera is awesome, I usually use it for video and the Auto Focus works great, the pictures are great too. What I really like the most is the lenses, it is fabulously luminous, it has a great aperture, like I said before, I recorded videos at night and they now look excellent. In summary, this camera amazed me, it is great in every aspect and the size makes it so easy to carry with you anywhere, good for blogging. I highly recommend this camera.

The G7 X III is a great camera for someone who wants to take high quality, high resolution photos without the knowledge and skill required to use a DSLR I do not have a lot of experience with Canon but, this camera is a great point and shoot camera for when I am going somewhere, where my DSLR is too bulky or cumbersome to take. The cameras auto mode is by far the best I have ever used, the white balance, focus and detail is on point in every shot, regardless of lighting quality or condition. It's an excellent choice for both an everyday user to a photographer looking for a smaller more compact choice as it doesn't take away all settings such as ISO, aperture and other options that most point and shoots do. Overall, a very well made, and extremely user friendly camera!

Ok. The pictures this thing takes are absolutely beautiful. So clear and detailed. Way better then my other camera. The video it takes is very good too. The 4k resolution makes a huge difference. It is great for streaming. I streamed and shared a couple videos to my social media and they loaded with ease. The feel and style of the camera is great. It's very sleek and comfortable in my hand. The battery has a great life and charges fairly quick. This is a great little camera and definitely a good bang for your buck when compared to others.

I'm a photographer and always sees great scenes that I want to capture. I think a phone is good, but nothing beats the feeling of actually taking a picture with an actual camera. This camera does that. It has bluetooth technology to connect with your phone, but the most important part is the quality. It looks amazing. The video quality goes up to 4K and it looks fantastic as well for any B-roll video you might need. It does fantastic for the B-roll of my films. The shots can also be processed in RAW so editing the photos looks great.

I am coming from using a Sony a6300 and wanted to give this little camera a try as I heard that the Mark II was the camera that vloggers and YouTubers love, and I do family videos for all our trips. I began using this camera this Christmas and the image quality was good but I found myself just taking the pictures with my Sony a6300 because of the better quality. I was encouraged to hear that Canon had released a firmware update that was going to fix the autofocus issues many people complained about, and in my experience the autofocus is still worse compared to my other cameras including the iPhone. Yes, it focus on the subject but it takes a couple seconds to do so and I am just used to the immediate autofocus found on my Sony and iPhone. The only thing I loved about this camera compared to my other cameras is the in-body image stabilization. It really makes your video smooth and is gimbal-like. The flippable screen allows you to always be on the shot and get all the angles you want. Furthermore, I really liked the built-in features such as shooting stars at night. This little lens allowed me to take some really cool video that none of my other cameras allow me to do. All in all, this is an average pocket camera that can take good pictures and video in low light with amazing stabilization, however, if you are shooting difference faces and want a fast autofocus, maybe it's not the best camera for this (at least not yet, let's see if there is a future update).

The pictures on this camera really are great and that’s why it makes it hard for me to leave such a low rating. The pictures are crisp and the built in filters on the camera make shooting good shots easy. But, the autofocus on this thing does have a tendency to drive you insane. There were times when the autofocus worked as expected. Then there were times it was noticeably slow, and then there were times it wouldn’t focus at all. Even with the great pictures this camera takes, not being able to rely on the focus makes this really hard to recommend. This thing also shoots up to 4K video that looks amazing. The video is butter smooth and crystal clear. I could see this thing being great for shooting quick videos that don’t need a ton of editing. Overall, I loved the great pictures and videos this camera gave me but, the below average autofocus left me wanting more.

    Overall, a good vlogging camera

My fiance and I got this camera as a replacement for our vlogging channel (Grayson and Jeff) and have loved it!! While it does sometimes struggle to autofocus, it's an issue that resolves itself pretty quickly once you touch your face on the touchscreen viewfinder. Once you do that, the rest of the video normally stays in focus. One thing we have loved about this camera is that on the touchscreen, there's a button to start/stop the video. In addition, this camera is AMAZING in low light conditions which has been a huge plus since our house only gets good natural lighting for a few hours every day. The Canon G7X mark III also gives a wider picture on video mode which has been nice for vlogging because we're able to fit more in one frame. While we don't normally use a microphone, it's nice that this model can actually have one. Overall, we've loved this camera and personally think it's a huge step up from the mark II. The only reason that I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the autofocus isn't 100% perfect every time you use it.

The Canon G7 X Mark III came up shorter than what I expected. Although it shoots 4K video, there is still some improvement to be done with the autofocus function. I was excited about getting the G7 X Mark III camera in time for the holiday, but the autofocus was a big letdown. As for the picture quality, it’s great. You have filter options as well, and the zoom in function is also good at full zoom. Make sure to download the Canon app to get the full benefit out of the G7 X Mark III. The WiFi connection makes it easy to transfer pictures between devices. Following the step by step instruction, setting up the WiFi, or Bluetooth, connection is a breeze. In all, I feel that there are better options for the price.
