It is pretty good; however, I am used to a much higher quality camera so the amount of time it takes to focus and take the picture is okay. It is great for a trip where you do not want to carry a camera with lens.

Point and shoot camera

It struggles in dim rooms, resulting in either grainy or blurry images. While it does have facial recognition, this camera is not particularly adept at recognizing other scene types when in Auto mode. The extended zoom capacity (50 X) of the lense is nice, but be aware that you need to steady the camera when shooting at the far telephoto range either via a tripod, beanbag, or by carefully holding the camera against a stable object. This is to be expected when shooting any lense with a long focal length. If you shoot in manual, aperture priority, or shutter priority modes, it works reasonably well and provides reasonable access to exposure controls.
