I was looking for a pocket sized camera for everyday use - for those "wish I had a camera" type shots you hate to miss. The Powershot is perfect - easy to use, lightweight, and the zoom feature is fantastic. Sharp, clear pictures with a minimum amount of effort.

This is an easy to use point & shoot. The zoom is excellent. Takes good low light (museums, etc) pictures.

In most lighting situations you can count on good snapshots. Indoors and low light situations are marginally OK without flash; quite good with flash (although having to manually raise the flash is a nuisance). Smart focus feature works well, picking out faces and main objects to focus on. There is practically no delay between button press and shutter release.

Purchased for the 40 x zoom and works as expected. The neat feature is the creative shot which gives 6 different looks at one snap. the only negative for me is the strap attachment, it too small to put a loop for my neck lanyard. had to improvise using picture hanging wire. If using a non Canon battery you may get an error message but not to worry.

I got this camera in addition to my DSLR for days when I don't feel like carrying around an entire backpack to take good photos. The image quality is great and I love the features. The only thing I would change is I wish it was touch screen. There are some photo options that are customizable but somewhat tricky to change the settings using the buttons. If it had a touch screen feature it would make changing settings much easier!

I needed to purchase a camera for my trip abroad. A staff member recommended this camera, mentioned it was highly rated and his choice for the class. I was very satisfied with his choice. As a beginner to intermediate user this camera met all my expectations. This was an upgrade from my previous camera. I would highly recommend this for others.

Why by a camera when your phone has two or more. Easy - QUALITY! Phones are convenient; and yes you can shoot commercials with them but in many cases an actual camera does a far better job. Especially for the images that you/'ll want to have 10 or 20 years from now. This unit has higher resolution than any cell, and you can see the difference.
