This is a replacement for one that has had some water damage. But my other batteries hold a great charge and have been trouble free.

The LP-E17 is a tiny battery. If you're using the EVF and LCD a lot while shooting, you'll need at least one extra battery. If you're shooting a lot of video, it wouldn't hurt to have two extra batteries. On the plus side, since they're so small they don't take very long to charge to full capacity. I think you can go from empty to full in about 2.5 hours using the OEM Canon charger.
