This flash works GREAT, but be warned.... it eats through batteries like they're going out of style. Have spares on hand!

I switched camera rigs to Canon and needed to buy a flash and decided on the Speedlite 430 and was very happy with the decision. The flash had a VERY quick refresh rate so I was able to take pictures in quick succession without any difficulties or having to wait for the flash to become ready. Great flash!

Easy to use right out of the box, although I have used previous models before. Good value

I recently purchased this Speedlight to take photos of my little cousins for my Aunts 80th birthday gift. This light provides more accurate skin tones compared to just using the standard built-in flash. I used this in combination with my remote clicker to make sure I was getting enough shots while keeping the kids focused on looking at the camera lens. I'll eventually get proper photo lighting like the use in Mall studio kiosks for professional shooting. For now though, this light works excellent.

I am currently using this flash with an Canon 6D and it works great and cycles quickly. The flash's mounting foot lock lever release take a little practice to be able to release it quickly. Once you learn how to use it, it work fine.

I am a beginner DSLR user. I purchased a Sunpak external flash about a year ago for 60.00. It worked ok. I wasn't very impressed with the difference in that and my on camera flash. This new flash is so awesome. Fast, smart. Great purchase. Can't wait to try different ways to use it.

This thing can do some awesome things but you will need to spend time with it in order to learn how all of it works.

overall this is a good value for what you get... open it up and slap it on the camera and you are good to go. The auto features are acceptable. Thee more advanced features are very good also.... does not cycle as fast as the 600 series, but rarely has this been a problem. My only complaint about the flash is the on flash interface is not as easy to use as the 600 series.... but for half the price you get way more than than half the features of the 600....

This flash has worked really well for me. It's nice a bright and allow you to take continuous pictures without the flash overheating, like the built in flip flash on my camera. It swivels in 2 directions which allows for pictures to be taken in portrait or landscape.

This flash is perfect for any photographer, regardless of skill level or experience. If you know the basics of when and how to use on camera and off camera flash, you can make superior photos. The flash is reliable and ETTL is a must for fast paced photographers.

Great add on for a novice that wants Eden sharper and clearer pictures with a little extra light.

I'm sure this product is fabulous like all of my many other canon products but I returned it in search of a less expensive flash.

Definitely recommend this for beginners. It's easy to use and requires very little intervention.

My wife bought this for Christmas for me. Something Ive been wanting for awhile. As with all Canon products they work great with their cameras. I love that it has remote capabilities so the flash does not have to be attached to the camera to work.

This flash is very easy to use! I am amazed the difference that it makes in the pictures!

I have a Canon 70D and was looking to buy a budget external flash. After several researches. I'm glad I still chose Canon then other third party external flashes. It seems to be fast during the flash cycle. And has great build quality.

I'm new at photography, I bought a 5d Mark II, I didn't want to keep upgrading, I asked what speed light would be good for a beginner but would still work for someone intermediate. I was told I would not be disappointed, so far so good.

As always, another quality product from Canon.... Buy this if you're looking for picture quality when using flash! I've been looking at other brand flash guns, but I'm so glad I went with the canon, you really do get what you pay for...

It consistently gives off a nice and bright light. Adjusting the settings is straightforward and visual feedback is logical and clear. Adjusting manual settings is easier on some other flashes, but the tradeoff is more possibility for bumps or accidental presses to change them. The unit feels solid enough. I've had it land on concrete from a lightstand and aside from a scratch it works fine.
