Good for starting a documentary videos and pictures

I got this camcorder on Black Friday for $169 and it is worth every bit of it, maybe even more. Picture quality is good, sound is good, and it takes high quality pictures too. It's small and light and one of the benefits of this camcorder is that you can record video while it is plugged into the wall.

I wanted to start shooting more video, as I have mostly shot stills for about 25 years now. I reviewed my options, and found this camcorder to be a good place to "point and shoot". And it does exactly what you expect, point and shoot.

Overall this is good camera it has all the functions that your need. The only thing I really don't like is that if you turn it off you will lose the date and time stamp on the video, the only way to avoid this is to keep the camera in standby mode.

Good but not wonderful. I wanted a cheap, basic camera and that's what I got after my really nice Sony broke after 10 years. Be ready to call canon to figure out how to download to your computer.

Our late 2009 model broke down but gave us plenty of notice before doing so. I haD A Time Machine backup in place when we got the new one and Apple care talked me through the process. Great machine that we expect to last longer than the 6 years our previous iMac did.

We purchased a new 70 inch Samsung TV with a new Yamaha receiver, a Blue Ray player and a universal remote. Peter with the Geek squad did an excellent job with the installation, programing and then educating us on the many new features. So far we are pleased!

Pros: nice entry level camcorder. zooming level is good for this level of camcorder. Cons: the design could be better - the battery pack bulges out at the back of the camera and it would've been better it fits somewhere inside.

The one largest negative is that it does not come with a manual. For the price it should include a manual shouldn't have to use our own ink and paper to obtain an instruction manual. I like the camera and have used it several times

For this price point, the camera is sturdy, well made, and has plenty of features. The onscreen menu is not as intuitive as I would like, but once I got the hang of it, everything worked well. We used it on a tripod, indoors, for semi-professional recording.

The price on this camera really can't be beat. It's a nice entry level video camera. I purchased it to record family videos, and I feel that it does it's job. The sound quality can be a little better though.
