Great price. This little guy is perfect for family fun and special occasions. It is so easy to use. You can even carry it around in your pocket if you want to. I liked the photo shot feature to capture quick frames of various items. This was originally bought to be a stationary camera for video conference use. It does well for that too.

I purchased the canon VIXIA HF R800 to record my sons high school basketball games and it has been flawless. Ive had to learn all the advantages this little guy gives me when recording a game. I have nothing but good things to say about my purchase and the price i paid

I bought this camcorder for a work event and was quite pleased. We were able to video our process without image blur and jarring. The sound was great and the image quality in SD allowed us to capture 12-15 min clips into a relatively small file. Perfect for our needs! If it would have offered wifi, it would be 5 stars.

I bought R800 after reading a few reviews. I needed it mainly for shooting self-tapes auditions, which casting directors require due to Covid-19. The R800 does the job. You can connect a separate microphone, but make sure the microphone has its own power. I bought a mic without it's own power, and had to return it. However, the built in Mic on the R800 is sufficient if you are within a few feet of the camera. I would have given the R800 5 stars, but the user directions are very confusing. And to make matters worse, the directions also make reference to other Canon camcorders, in particular the R80. Also, you need to go online to get the user directions. In any event, while trying to find directions to get the built- in Mic to work, I discovered that the R800 probably has more features than I need. If you need a good, basic, inexpensive camcorder, I would recommend the R800.

My husband purchased this Camcorder and I absolutely love it! We travel alot so it works great! The resolution is very good.

This is the second HF R800 I've purchased. I wanted to have duplicate devices for recording events at a conference. I like the easy access to the SD card. Older Canon models had access to the SD card under the camera so they were hard to change. Controls are easy to understand.

Don't know a whole lot about this camera, myself. Bought it for my 10 year old and he seems to really enjoy it.

Video quality is HD as described. Microphone is okay. I bought a powered mic to plug into it for better audio quality for work. Make sure if you do buy an external mic, that it is self-powered. It does not support/draw power to non-powered mic’s. Stability feature came in handy multiple times.

Awesome camera, takes great video and very easy to use.

Small, light and easy to use. No light or remote but small and easy to use and carry. I just checked out the time lapse recording in the snow and it worked as advertised. Did not use manual because I would not have it while out anyway and I wanted to see how easy it was to make adjustments on the fly.

As I am a beginner with camcorders, the simplicity and multiple modern features of this camera are really appreciated! I've noticed Canon hasn't changed this model very much recently, so I guess they feel their product can stand the test of time for a while. Time will tell and so will I!

I am not using the Vixia in the traditional way, but rather as a webcam. The camera has functioned flawlessly, running for several hours per day. Fast focus, a very sharp image, and a rotating screen make this 1080p camera an asset to my particular video needs.

Used ancient dvhs tape camcorder. still recorded but digital transfer too difficult. Great choice for an upgrade

Great little camcorder. We use these for webcasting church services. We are able to have a clean HDMI out and able to change quite a few settings which makes these little camera's very nice to work with. We have several of these in the field.

This camcorder is great - fantastic video quality for the money. The menus can be a little confusing and the documentation isn't great. I did, however, reach out to their tech support - and an english speaking American answered the phone and found the answer for me! I'd buy this camcorder again.

It is a very simple camera to use on the go for vacationing to vlogging. The headphone jack and microphone input are huge selling points. I owned the R600 in the pass. There isnt really any big diffences that i noticed. It's a very user friendly camcorder for beginners.

This is the first camcorder I purchased, and I am very pleased with it. Some electronic items today can be difficult to figure out, but within half an hour I made my first video. I was astonished at the picture and sound quality when I played the video back through my HDTV and sound system.
