Cap Smacks Back!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie is divergent of the comic version and does not gather all the essence of Civil War. But for a Captain America film, it was pretty great. I think Evans played a great Captain America. And if they are going to follow the comics it will be a sad day. If you are buying this, then try and get the best version possible. I prefer Blu-Ray and 3D with the Digital as a minimum. I saw this in the theater in 3D when it came out, and prefer to buy the 3D version when available. The format is nearly extinct again. So I try and pick them up as soon as they are released. Otherwise, you pay way more than the original price.

One of the best Marvel movies to date.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What to say about Cap's third "solo" outing. It was a great movie. Lots of action, fun team ups, awesome reveals, and a few plot twists that keep you interested. With all the cast members that were involved it would have been easy to get lost in the Avenger like atmosphere, but they did a great job keeping its mostly about Captain and his relationships with the others. I don't want to spoil anything, but the inclusion of Black Panther, Ant-man, and Spidey were great. I think the Russo brothers are really giving Joss Whedon as the Marvel writer/director guru. This movie has something for everyone and is a fun filled action pack thrill ride. Worth a purchase!

Another Home Run for Marvel!!! ;-)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a die-hard fan of the Marvel MCU, I hold the following movies above all others: The original Iron Man, The Avengers, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy. Now I have to consider the best Marvel movie as as a 5-way tie... Captain America: Civil War is THAT GOOD. A lot of people dump on the Zemo character, but considering his motivations in the movie-- he actually won and succeeded in tearing the Avengers apart. Pretty cool-- And I am SO looking forward to the following Avengers movies now (more than I was originally...) Highly recommended, and BTW, this Blue Ray Steelbook is just beautiful with the embossing, etc...

one of the best Marvel movies
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, Capt. America is my fave Marvel hero. As either a sequel to Capt. America: The Winter Soldier, or a sequel to The Avengers: Age of Ultron - this movie rocks! The cast is perfect. Paul Rudd back as Ant Man and newcomer Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther are both awesome; with Boseman getting a big push to get the Panther out to be seen. Chris Evans is still nailing Cap down tight, and of course RDJ as Iron Man needs no sunlight to shine. And Sam Mackie is awesome too! All in all - this is the best Avengers movie to date, and it's technically not an Avengers movie ( yeah, talking about you Joss Whedon ). The Russo Bros ARE the Marvel movie group.

Excellent film with exceptional picture and sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the latest film in the Marvel Universe to advance the narrative of the Avengers and the various franchises that they have created. It was a real treat to see how Marvel mixed the casts from their various films so seamlessly while introducing the new Spiderman to the masses prior to his own spin-off films. As usual, Marvel does a great job with the story, character development and effects. The Blu-Ray disc is great and provides excellent color and depth while the sound is superior to most of the other action films you will find. The steenbok was a nice touch and adds a nice "collector's" vibe to the item. All in all, great film on a great format.

Really could've called it Avengers: Civil War
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, it focuses a little more attention on Cap--with notable absences of Thor and Hulk--but it is an Avengers movie, by and large. That being said, it's a solid entry in the MCU, and one that better explores how human these heroes can be; flawed and driven by emotion and conflicting loyalties. It has a few spots where the camera work is a little spotty, especially in chase scenes, but overall looks great. It's also a great way to introduce some additional characters--Black Panther, Spider-man--without needing to devote time to origin stories. As usual, there's a mid and post-credit scene to check out, as well as a look at Dr. Strange as a bonus feature.

Great addition to the series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While not quite a good as "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", which is excellent as a standalone movie, "Civil War" is a great part of the Captain America and Avengers series. The fight at the airport brings all the characters together and is a big treat for fans. My kids are always asking "who would win?" if the Marvel heroes were to battle each other. This gives you an idea of how that would play out. The only thing I did not buy was why Tony Stark would ever agree to have a government oversight agency for the Avengers. The reason they gave was weak but I played along because it sets up the civil war. Definitely a must-have for Avengers fans.

Great movie--great Blu-Ray Disc!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The current box office champion of 2016 comes to 3D Blu-Ray in a stellar package that befits this fantastic Marvel release! Following the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron and another clash with Crossbones to start the film in which further collateral damage is sustained, the Secretary of State (William Hurt's General Ross from the Incredible Hulk) gives the Avengers an ultimatum. The events which follow leads to a rift which threatens to tear the superheroes apart. 3D representation is solid, and the aggressive soundtrack will give your HT a workout. Picture quality is excellent as well. The standard Blu-Ray is also included in the package.

Excellent movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A fitting culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Civil War is perhaps the best marvel movie yet. From the first action packed opening sequence, the russo brothers never let their foot off the gas, with not one minute feeling wasted, with every scene baring vital character development or furthering of the plot. The acting is superb, with even the background cast shining despite limited roles. Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr in particular standout in their most dramatic turns in their roles yet, with each actor successfully portraying the viewpoints and making each one feel credible and sympathetic. A masterpiece in superhero filmmaking.

Don't compare this to the comic book. Just don't.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The MCU shouldn't be compared to the storylines that they're based off of in the comics. It is a fresh experience that has been built from the ground up, with the same characters and similar situations, but better, and made for the big screen. Captain America: Civil War does an excellent job at keeping the basic premise of the Civil War saga, but the catalyst unique to the MCU is riveting and just makes me wonder if they'll ever do a take on Civil War 2 from the comics, and how fun that will be to watch. Excellent movie. The inclusion of Spidey made everything a 20 out of 10 (but that's just my bias).

A whole lot of fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Here's the thing, I know the movie deviated wildly from the comic story arc "Civil War", a sadly unavoidable fact for a single movie, instead of say, at least two seasons of a television show. That being said, for what it was, the adaptation was very good; and my favorite part, was that it introduced new characters to the MCU, without the need to go through a tedious "origin story" movie for each one. (especially important for Spider-man, as we've had like what, 3 origin movies now? ) This was to me, an good "middle ground kind of movie, paving the way to individual titles such as "Black Panther", as well as epic crossings such as "Avengers"

Marvel must-have
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Marvel never disappoints when releasing films to disc. Captain America: Civil War is no exception. This action packed film is just as thrilling on a small screen as on a big screen because the acting and special effects keep the watcher totally engaged throughout. This disc comes with great bonus features, of course; we expect no less from the folks at Marvel. There's audio commentary by the directors and screenwriters, a "making of " film, 2 separate shorts on the evolution of the characters of Tony Stark and Captain America, deleted & extended scenes, and of course, the gag reel, to name a few of the features. Well worth the price paid.

Great Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is at the top of my list of favorite movies of 2016. Probably my 2nd favorite comic book movie (after The Avengers). The sound and video quality on this blu-ray are top notch. The 45 minute behind the scenes extra and audio commentary are worth it for fans of the movie. The gag reel is pretty useless though. The 3D version changes aspect ratio to include IMAX aspects during the big mid-movie battle between Cap and Iron Man's teams. I wish that the 2D version would have included the IMAX screen ratio also. I don't know why it couldn't have just been included. Other than that little nitpick, this movie is worth every penny.

Sort of the Attack of the Clones of Marvel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I see Civil War as the filler Marvel movie. It isn't the best of them, but it's needed to complete the story. Basically a bunch of heroes fighting each other over a long since passed mistake. Part of me asks, is it even necessary for the avengers to break up? To follow the comics absolutely, to add to the MCU, maybe not so much. Still a good movie, but not my favorite.
