The sequel to "Captain America: The First Avenger" has Steve Rogers, World War II's greatest hero, trying to make his way in the 21st Century in the wake of the events depicted in "The Avengers." Rogers, working for the SHIELD spy agency, discovers a conspiracy involving SHIELD director Nick Fury and must work with his friends Falcon and Black Widow to save the day...from old friends and foes alike. The story is almost as epic as The Avengers and ranks with the very best of Marvel's films. The entire cast, from Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie and Scarlett Johansson, to Samuel L Jackson and Robert Redford is fantastic and the action is as epic as it gets. The movie looks and sounds terrific on Blu-ray, and the writers and directors delver a very informative audio commentary, but the other special features are a bit skimpy, especially compared to earlier Marvel Blu Rays. But there is a digital copy, and the movie and commentary are enough to justify a purchase. Fantastic entertainment.

Winter Soldier is a treat for fans looking for a visually stunning action piece juxtaposed with elements similar to the spy genre seen in the 70's. Although on paper this might sound like an awkward hybrid balancing both elements but the Russo brothers executed it with perfection. Moot point trying to qualify this film to those who think its less than "film" and more a movie. I disagree in every sense that this movie is shallow in any regard and hold it to the highest standard. 5 stars absolutely. Pompous statement but if you aren't a fan of this movie, you might possibly be a huge bore in real life, sorry for the random judgement but it just is a fascinating film
