Great 3D movie!! Marvel never disappoints! Rent it!

I have seen many comic book movies and even collected when I was a kid. I've also seen a lot of movies in general. This is my #1 Marvel Film (Guardians of the galaxy is a close second). It has none of the flaws of the others (not so hot writing, terrible villains, etc.). This film has it all. Great story and acting, wonderful graphics and cinematography. Its a spy thriller and superhero smash up all rolled into one. My favorite part? I finally like black widow. She is a strong female character in this movie. There is no love story, just a highly capable friend that holds her own throughout the film. Spoilerish: everything to do with shield and hydra is also incredibly well done and made the television show Agents of Shield a completely different (read better) show. This really is the film that will set the standard for comic films for years to come.

I"ve always loved reading the Captain America comic books and graphic novels and have always wanted to see a movie that best represents who this character is. The first Captain America dealt with this origin and how he came to be, but I felt like the action wasn't that great. In the Avengers he was in there, but the movie was focused more on the team as a whole and so his story wasn't expanded on as well. In the Winter Soldier, you finally get a chance to see what Captain Rogers is capable of and why he's such an important person to have on the Avengers. The action scenes are done really nicely and the story is more of a spy thriller with some super hero themes thrown in. Overall, if you're a fan of the comics or have been following up on the Marvel cinematic universe, you should not miss out on this movie! It is by far my favorite Marvel movie yet!

Wow. After watching this, it's amazing to think that the comic book superhero genre began life as mostly silly, disposable entertainment for children. We're a long way from there now; most comics today are serious, literate material for mature readers that grapple with real issues. And then there's movies like this. No-one could have guessed in 1940 - or even 1980- that superhero comics would end up inspiring some of the most exciting, technically dazzling, and smartly conceived movies of the 21st century. Marvel's impressive run of high-tech action films continues with this wild blast of a film that also poses troubling questions about where we are and who to trust in our post- 9/11 world.. Best thing about Captain America and the other great Marvel films: they never underestimate the intelligence of their audience. Watch and enjoy.

The directing and planning by the Russo brothers made these action sequences unique and seem effortless because of how incredibly well prepared they were in creating this movie, instead of your generic action scenes. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into making this movie, instead of its other "blockbuster-lets blow a bunch of stuff up and have one-liners" Marvel counterparts. The plot and story has twists and turns that will keep you interested the entire way. Only downside is that the Winter Soldier isn't in many scenes, but when he is, the fight sequences are top notch and the his story and acting are worth every bit of it. This has to be the best Marvel movie so far that can be enjoyed by people who know Captain America and also those who don't, but are wanting to watch a generally good action/thriller film.

Very few sequels often surpass the very first movie. Aliens, The Godfather...maybe a few others. But The Winter Soldier picks up where the first movie left off and greatly details the struggles that Captain America has with coming to grips with a world that is quick to sacrifice liberty for a false sense of security. The movie plays out like a action conspiracy thriller and if you do some fact checking it's easy to see just how cool and scary and even dark this movie can be. IMO it's by far the best of the Marvel movies, next to Iron Man. I think Chris Evans truly embodies the spirit and roots of what we all want Captain America to be. Similar to how Christopher Reeve does with Superman. They couldn't have chosen a better guy for the role. I can only hope the next one is just as good if not better than this one!

This movie without a doubt outdid it's predecessor and has good acting, action packed story that is one of marvel's finest movies to date

The Winter Soldier brings Cap's past back to haunt him, and the entire world, in a number of fun and terrifying ways. The cast is uniformly great this time out: Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Anthony Mackie all inhabit their characters and gell nicely from the moment they step onscreen together, Robert Redford and Samuel L. Jackson deliver the great performances that are their calling cards, and Sebastian Stan... let's say he gets to go to some dark places. Really, aside from the music (which doesn't come anywhere close to approaching the melodic, iconic heights of Alan Silvestri's score from The First Avenger), there's not a complaint to be leveled here. Though, it is tremendously disappointing to see Marvel break from recent tradition and not include a "One-Shot" short film on this home release.

Another awesome Marvel exclusive steelbook on 4K. Great to have the complete Captain America Trilogy in 4K steelbooks. Please keep them coming!!!

It's an upgrade from Blu-Ray, but nothing special. I would still get it, especially if you have the other two on Blu-Ray...Still a great movie!

One of the better Marvel flicks, certainly the best of the Captain America stsnd-alones. Picture and audio quality are more than adequate.

The WInter Soldier is a big step forward in the Captain America franchise. It's miles ahead of The First Avenger. Absolutely worth a watch.

This is easily one of the top 5 Marvel Movies that has been made. While this film has comic book inspirations, it aspires to be a great spy thriller. The secrecy and political intrigue is compelling enough even without characters named Captain America or the Winter Soldier. This film adds another dimension to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that continues to payoff in Marvel's Agents of Shield television series. This film also features deeper characterization of the Black Widow and Nick Fury, which could act as possible springboards to them having their own projects. We are also introduced to a significant new character, Sam Wilson, aka the Falcon. Everything about this film is top notch, which makes the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe seem all the more brighter.

This was a good conversion, the video looks great and the story shows how cap advanced. A little over the top acting, but fun.

When we first see Captain America in "The First Avenger" we get to see Steve Rogers as a person and who he molds himself into. The events in "The Avengers" he gets to get accustomed to modern day events and helps assemble a team, pun intended, to save the world. Now, in this movie, he's already used to what today has in store for him, and while he tries to get a handle of what he's missed during his frozen state, he is in for a real ride with S.H.I.E.L.D. Black Widow returns to aid him along with new characters that help him along the way in order to stop the infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. (by none other than HYDRA) and its corrupt directors running the show. More action than the first and a very well done movie for Marvel fans to enjoy.

Its public and common opinion that this is one of the best superhero movies that's been made, its hard not to agree after watching The Winter Soldier. If you would have told someone that 2 filmmakers mostly only know for their comedy work would turn out a effort like this, folks probably wouldn't have believed it. Everything here is top notch, the callbacks, the story as a whole, and the acting. You can see that all the actors have gotten in a grove with these characters and have a better grasp than ever on their characters emotions. Terrific action and advancement in the overall Marvel film universe plus upping the ante to what came before it, there's no doubt this is a must see movie for any Marvel, superhero, or cinema fan.

It pains me to say this, as a huge Loki/Hiddleston fan, but this one may be the best film yet in overall quality. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Cap in The First Avenger, with the Indiana Jones, movie serial feel to fighting Hydra, so I was looking forward to the sequel and the (not a spoiler to the majority of the audience) return of Bucky. And for all that I've heard people citing that reveal as a letdown, they seem to be missing the point that it was never meant to be a reveal to us, but to Steve. The look on his face is everything. This movie was a great comment on our present day world, and a great way to bridge the gap from the first film with Cap as his own form of propaganda. Loved it.

One of my least favorite characters from the comic book is Captain America. But, this movie is good nevertheless.

I have seen Civil War and have found the Winter soldier in that movie as well. It is interesting to see the connection.

I'm always pleased when Best Buy has a well-made, well-designed Steelbook Exclusive that includes BOTH 3D/2D versions of a film when applicable; with as many special features possibly made available. That criteria is usually the dealmaker for me. As for the film, it's as beautiful a release can be, in both video and audio. The lack of special features was a bit of a letdown; especially when compared to Captain America: The First Avenger's Blu-ray. At the very least, a trailer gallery would have been nice. Despite the lack of special features, this was an overall solid release where I certainly felt I got my money's worth. I hope Best Buy will continue to release Steelbook Exclusives as exemplary as this.
