Marvel studios as you know, has been the forerunner of defining the superhero cinematic experience and execution, starting with the first Iron Man in 2008, all the way through to the massive success of The Avengers in 2012. Well, the last 3 films, Iron Man 3, Thor The Dark World, and Captain America The Winter Soldier, each do justice to the stories and the characters in the follow ups of the events of The Avengers. Winter Soldier is of course adapted from the very successful and very good miniseries of the same name. A dramatically character driven story that while has enough action scenes to balance it out, really manages to get a sort of core emotional truth of these characters. That got translated well into the movie with some expected changes. Once again, we see one of the main heroes fighting a conflict in which he did not realize the scales and consequences of. CA:TWS is a smart action thriller which harkens back to political thrillers of the 70s but with a more modern touch. Highly recommended.

This is a very awesome steelbook Edition box set. I highly recommend it.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is by far the best film in the Marvel shared movie universe! This movie is packed with amazingly shot action, you can follow what is going on so smoothly, and the story keeps you engaged the entire time. I'm not going to spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet, and shame on you if you haven't and you call yourself a superhero fan, but this one knocks the plot right out of the park. I am looking forward to the third installment, as it will be directed and written by the same people that did so well on this one. The Steelbook packaging is very cool, as it depicts one of the coolest scenes from the movie and the discs are positioned in the box so as to avoid damage to them. The extras on the Blu-ray are not the greatest, but as long as I can laugh along with the cast during the outtakes I am pretty satisfied. If you are interested in an amazing movie that you can watch from home because Guardians of the Galaxy is still in theaters, purchase this one and enjoy the ride!
