Awesome steelbook for a wonderful movie. I've always loved the art and style of the bestbuy steelbooks. The movie itself is great, a good starting point for the Carol Danvers character, interesting to see how much more they develop her.

I really liked the movie, Goose was OBVIOUSLY the best part of it. Set a decent foundation. The steel book is top quality as always, the disc does has special features but I haven't checked them out yet. I'm sure they'll only add to the value of owning this. Marvel is top notch, can't go wrong owning any of their movies.

I know a lot of people seemed to dislike this movie for one reason or another, but personally I enjoyed it. It had an engaging story and seeing all the references to the 90s I found funny. The video & audio are top notch for a bluray.

This was another movie in the Marvel series. If you are a loyal follower you are compelled to watch it. It was a good storyline as far as the introduction of Captain Marvel goes but it was a little weak other than that. I realize since this is a not a serious drama and it was entertaining but the storyline was thin.

Another fantastic Marvel action hero movie. Don't miss parts of the movie or you will have a hard time following. Watch the whole movie in a sitting to really appreciate the story line as well. Excellent action sequences as well.

If you like the Marvel universe, I think you’ll like this one too. You get some backstory on other popular characters as well as learning about Captain Marvel. If you like cats, you’ll love Goose! If you are a child of the 90’s you’ll find things you remember. The Blu Ray itself is great quality, and had cool extras.

A bit different than the comic book origin story line, but won't let you down. Great action and story line. I like this copy because of the digital download option allowing us to take this film with us and also the bonus features are great.

Not a perfect movie by any means, but it's a lot of fun. My wife and daughters really loved seeing a female lead kicking butt on screen. That great scene when she finally [redacted] the [redacted] out of the [redacted]... totally worth it.

For those who don’t remember at the end of “The Avengers: Infinity Wars” (2018), Thanos pretty much took out much of the world’s population including some Avengers using the power of the 6 Infinity Stones. At the end of the film a wounded Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is seen using a device to call Captain Marvel for help. So this is the origin story of Captain Marvel. It turns out she was once a crack Air Force jet pilot. But I’m getting ahead of myself. As usual, I will give a disclaimer about my Marvel geeknous. I have none. I’ve seen all the movies and liked almost all of them. At the same time I may screw up some characters, events, timelines and who’s a good guy and who’s not. The film opens on the planet Hala occupied by the blue-blooded (literally) Kree. A young woman known a Vers (Oscar winner Brie Larson) is decked out in a form-fitted aqua-green jump suit, as is her trainer Yon-Rogg (Jude Law). It is clear that the Kree have some seriously good fighting skills, but Yon-Rogg keeps telling Vers to control her emotions before launching some of her more serious weapons, especially fiery blasts from her fists. In what seems to be a well-placed and recurring attack on the emotional stability of women, we are sure to see more. Vers keeps having nightmares and dreams often involving a woman of mystery called Supreme Intelligence in the credits played by 60-year old Annette Bening who also fills out her uniform nicely (not a sexist comment). Vers has memory intrusions as well of living another life in another world. She wants a combat assignment and finally gets it as an attack is planned on another planet by the Kree’s enemy, the shapeshifting Skrulls. In a series of exchanges and perhaps my confusion the Kree squad – including Vel - and led by Yon-Rogg, chase the Skrull leader Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) to Earth. Frankly I’m not sure who was chasing who. Vers gets separated and gets to Earth first, right through the roof of a Blockbusters Video and next door to a Radio Shack. These obvious “ancient” references are played for fun and it all works, including plenty-o-songs from the ‘90’s. When Vers gets her action on, the songs seem to be those with female leads (Garbage, Salt-n-Pepa, TLC and No Doubt). Nice! Through these intermediary battles with the now shapeshifted Skrulls, Vers meets Fury and Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) both with CGI engaged to make them younger. Works well with Jackson in particular who is in a lot of scenes. The scenes with Vers and Fury are witty enough to make the film watchable alone. A third wheel is a house cat called Goose who is likely to be remembered as much as the lead actors. As time goes by, Vers's memory begins to come back. She reunites with Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch, “Brotherhood”) a fellow pilot. The two flew together and Vers discovers her real name is Carol Danvers. As Carol more memories return including interaction with a scientist named Wendy Lawson who looks a lot like Bening. To be honest, this film closely follows the set up established for all of the Marvel films by Kevin Feige. What is remarkable is that Captain Marvel slides right in there without a hiccup. The film is fun, flashy, exciting and entertaining. Larson is perfect in her role. She goes from a newbee warrior with a bit too much attitude to a confident superhero who absorbs energy to create a character every bit as strong as any we’ve seen so far. When the Captain is at full throttle, glowing through the sky it raises one’s pulse. Let’s see how she does with Thanos in a couple months. Recommended.

I love the steelbook, but i have to admit the 4k presentation on this is a bit dimmer than i'd like. maybe if you have a newer oled tv with advanced tone mapping it will look better than it does on mine. overall still happy with the steelbook

In spite of the negative publicity this movie received, the film itself is a worthy addition to the MCU. It features a well developed character, some backstory, fan service and easter eggs for marvel fans and it was a quality action movie.

Captain marvel was such a treat. Set in the 1990’s, the sets and costumes are brilliant. See the first scene in a Blockbuster Video for proof. This serves as a starting point on which the rest I’d the Marvel Comics film universe is built.

This movie is a much needed addition to the MCU. Good character development for Cpt Marvel and the relationship between S.H.I.E.L.D. and the heroes starts to take shape. Great action scenes and some good humor too. The 90s era plot is especially fun considering all the great music and culture. A must own in my opinion.

I have always enjoyed the Captain Marvel comics, and although this movie's storyline is almost the complete opposite of the comics, it is one I would still recommend that all lovers of the Marvel Universe (cinematic and comic) watch or buy.

This is a great movie, and a key piece to the current Marvel movie franchise. It seems well written and directed, and the CGI is awesome. To top it off, it is in 4K, and the colors and sound are outstanding. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed this movie in the theater before End Game. Good origin story and I enjoyed Stan Lee's Cameo as it was heartfelt as he passed away and that was one of the last few cameos he shot. Good action and pace. Must own for marvel fans MCU.

The special effect like previous in the series is excellent. The directing, lighting, acting and audio are likewise excellent. The politically correct story line, while OK here and now, maybe seen as propaganda in by generations to come.

Being a collector of all the Marvel movies, it was a must that I get this long anticipated film. With that, I was disappointed in two main areas. 1) Brie Larson was not the right person for the role. She never connects with the character. I feel if someone else was in the role it might have made point two below more bearable. 2) The character itself is pretty invincible, as is the comic. So much so that it is just plain annoying. You don't need any other MCU character when she is around. She overpowers all of then easily. Add Brie Larson to this and you could have just had her be an indestructible robot with no emotion. Outside of those two points the rest was all eye candy and an overall ok story. I would recommend to all who are dedicated to the MCU series and the casual viewer but it's not all as hyped in my opinion and could have been much better.
