Brie Larson was woefully miscast. However, I think she did a really good job with what she had to do as a super hero. Why I thought was miscast? Just the wrong physique and charisma for what is needed for a superhero say compared to Scarlett Johansen (who is more believable in her role). But as an actor and her chemistry with Mr. Jackson, Ms. Larson did a great job. OK, storywise, this was not one of Marvel Studios greatest efforts. Storyline seemed rushed and slightly superficial. And changes to the Marvel Universe are never good. Still a 4 star movie.

Captain Marvel is full of action, humor, and heart. Yes, there is some violence, but it is not gruesome. This movie provides background of how SHIELD was founded, and it is a great inclusion in the Marvel saga. As far as the SteelBook version goes: I purchased this version because it was on sale cheaper than the ‘regular’ case. If you are a collector, you might be inclined to pay extra for the fancy case.

A unique superhero and a unique movie, well worth watching for itself and of course as part of the Avengers epic. A woman not in or looking for a romantic/erotic relationship, good looking but not trying to be sexy, in a movie with a woman director. Some fun references to other movies and cliches, of course a Stan Lee cameo, and a cat with a strong role. I have not yet watched the extras on the DVD, so no comment on those.

Carol Danvers makes an interesting character, though I'm curious to learn more about her specific power set. I'm also hoping that, in the sequel, they'll continue filling in the blanks about what she was doing between 1995 and the present day. Plenty of time there to mine for story material. I have to say, the de-aging tech they used on Samuel L. Jackson was superb. Clark Gregg, too, but on Jackson, it really stood out.

This Captain Marvel 4K Blu-ray Steelbook is awesome. The design is subtle yet powerful. The film is the same. Some didn't care for Brie Larson or her performance, mostly due to her personality and personal opinions outside of her craft, but I think she nailed her character, and she's a pretty young woman reflecting strength and independence here. Kudos to Marvel, proving again and over they know exactly what they're doing.

I watched this movie when it premiered on IMAX and couldn't wait for it to come out on bluray. the movie itself is entertaining as it is plus be amazed by the sound that, is if you watch it in your home theater, the 4K is pretty amazing. I also particularly opted for the steelbook packaging but alas there was a paint scratch on the spine of the steelbook that was covered by the j-card, oh well! Highly recommended to watch.

Captain Marvel is a fun movie that is pretty true to the comics. It is one of the better origin films Marvel has done and as someone who has been reading about Carol Danvers since the early 1990’s I was pleasantly surprised by how well Marvel did transitioning this character to screen. The steel book edition looks amazing. Fantastic art that looks great with the rest of my Marvel collection. A must have for any MCU fan.

Marvel origin movies are pretty standard now after the last 10 years of universe building and Captain Marvel doesn't stray too far from the established formula. It takes a little time to get the plot moving but once it does, it really does start to excel. The movie does not hold the uninitiated viewers hand. So if you aren't aware what Skrull or Kree are you will probably be a little confused. Good performances all around and the special effects are some of the better in Marvel movies (definitely not the best, but not so bad they are distracting).

The movie is better than I expected. I read reviews and expected this to be underwhelming. However. Many of the reviews seem to have bias toward Brie Larson. Reviews are becoming less adequate due to bias these days. Seriously. I did not go to theater because of all the negativity. Kind of bummed out that I let reviews sway my judgement. There is nothing political or weird in this movie. Just sit back and enjoy

Captain Marvel introduces the title character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in spectacular fashion. She's grunge and metal come together: born human, raised Kree, and a little something extra. Provides a great backstory for Samuel L. Jackson's portrayal of Nick Fury and introduces us to the scene-stealing Goose the flerken. Brie Larson expands the human universe just in time to set up her turn in Avengers: Endgame.

4k HDR really does well on this movie. The special effects are quite good and the humor reveals that the movie understands what it is, a nice break from reality. There are plenty of light hearted comedy shots blended with the action. The soundtrack is great without being overbearing. I highly recommend this movie for anybody just wanting to relax and close out the problems of everyday life for a little while.

If you're looking for a great action movie. THIS IS IT!! The story is flawless. It does not take forever and have a slow build up just to tie it all together in the final 10 minutes. Captain Marvel is a great addition to the team we have all come to love and enjoy. Dont believe anyone who slams the movie. People have reviewed the movie as fake because shes not actually flying in space. Really?!?!?!

I enjoyed Captain Marvel. I didn't believe it was the best Marvel movie, but that is hard to accomplish when there are over 20 inclusions. I will say, from a man's view, that I was glad the movie didn't have a heavy feminist feel to it like the previews made it seem. I say that to say I'm glad we have a Marvel movie with a female hero leading the way. I'm just glad they didn't beat it over our heads how superior she was over any male hero, or anything like that. That would've lessened the impact of the movie in my opinion.

While not one of Marvel's best movies in the MCU, Captain Marvel is still a good movie to add to your collection. The video and color for this movie are great but like all Marvel films, the audio track is subpar when it comes to physical media. The voices are low and if your home theater has a speech enhancement feature, I recommend using it. Overall a great movie, a little slow to start but picks up just in time.

Set your politics aside, and you'll enjoy a great movie. The soundtrack in this film harkens to a time where you were warned simply to not go chasing waterfalls. There's age regressed Sam Jackson for all to enjoy. Plus the visuals will leave your pupils dilated with wonder, and amazement. You'll also get some fisticuffs peppered throughout. I recommend a 4k tv to fully enjoy this cinematic masterpiece.

Love the artwork for this steelbook! But I feel it could've been better. The cover was actually my favorite poster art when they were promoting the film upon release. However, I wish it was a bit better unified, as the back artwork seems generic and a missed opportunity to connect with the front cover. I would have preferred to see the open doors, like the front cover, but instead of seeing Captain Marvel from behind, we can see her emblem. Right the emblem just takes up the whole back cover, which looks good, but seems basic too.

Captain Marvel may not be the apex of the MCU, it's a fun and enjoyable entry that provides some backstory to the recent Avenger movies. The storyline features a perpetual mystery, a fair share of plot twists, plenty of terrific action scenes, some good comedic relief, and as a bonus, the movie is loaded with nostalgia for those of us that remember the 90's. As for the 4K UHD Blu-Ray Steelbook, it is a highly satisfying collector's item, with great artwork. I snatch these steelbooks up whenever I can, and will continue to do so.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good this movie was. I did not know that much about Captain Marvel but was excited to see how it fit into the Marvel universe. It did not disappoint. It had a great story and loved how they merged it into the Avengers last movie. I only wish she had a bigger role in End Game. Definitely would recommend this movie as a must watch if you are a fan of these types of movies.

I took my daughter and she was so inspired. I don’t know that she will actually join the Air Force or anything, but still I appreciated the strong female character(s). My boys liked it too. So this is an equal opportunity movie?!? Truly, if your kid is old enough (my youngest viewer was 10 years old) then it is a great family flick. Some parents are more strict than others, though, so YMMV.

Loved this movie overall. The Skrulls are excellent as is the chemistry between Larson and SLJ. Great effects and a fun story. I don’t like that they chose to make her an amnesiac but I get it. It removes a lot of agency from her character but when the character fully embraces her powers, I love it. The final fight scene was a little too dark so I turned up the brightness on my tv. Fixed the problem.
