Tom Hanks delivers again with a gripping plot of terrorism on the high seas. Being without weapons Hanks and the crew of the ship are at the mercy of the pirates, until help arrives.

This was absolutely one of the best films of 2013. 2+ hours have never flown by so quickly. Outstanding performances by Tom Hanks and newcomer Barkhad Abdi. The Blu-Ray looks fantastic, and it's a great movie to own in my digital collection as well. A must-have for any fan of good movies!

I am so impressed with Captain Phillips's quick thinking, leadership, and bravery. Also, our Navy Seals are so talented! It is absolutely amazing what those snipers are capable of.

Being based on a true story I found this very interesting. I was aware of the actual events when they happened but did not know that much about how it all went down. Tom Hanks, as always, did an excellent acting job. Watching the behind the scenes of making the movie was very interesting.

My son and I had been waiting to see this movie and watched it the night we bought the DVD. We had seen the news as our own Capt Phillips went through this horrible experience. It was very interesting see the way he survived and the amazing skill our SEALs displayed to bring down the pirates.

The movie was intense and kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved it because it was a real life movie. I enjoyed the bravery of this man and how he handled his situation.

Although I've always like Hanks the trailer didn't spark my interest. I got to say I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. The pace gets a little slow but it is understandable and unavoidable I guess. Overall, pretty entertaining, less political which is good but it still makes its point.

Other than the fact that this movie has an awesome plot and acting, the Blu-ray's picture is stellar. From the guy who did the "Bourne" films...would you expect anything less?

Tom Hanks had a great role in this movie. It was a compelling story, but after seeing the documentary of the Captain Phillips story, I was slightly disappointed in the movie.

Tom Hanks at his best. All of the performances were spot on and despite not a lot of actual action...it keeps you holding your breath pretty much til the end. Excellent film.

My grandmother who does not like tom hanks enjoyed this movie and so did I. The movie had a great pace and I did not find it had the lulls of boredom I often find in movies.
