Love Tom Hanks, but I just could not get behind this movie. Not his best.

Good movie with lots of action but a bit slow at times. Very good ending.

Good story line. I would rent it. Not something you would probably watch twice!

As a piece of action filmmaking it's pretty good, but there isn't a whole lot I find to be great in this. Hanks seems to phone it in despite the accent work (that is odd at best). Wouldn't miss much by not seeing it.

How Tom Hanks didn't receive an Academy Award nomination for his performance in Captain Phillips amazes me. He is that good in this film! Even though the outcome of this real life story is well known, this film does a terrific job building suspense all of the way up to the last moments. Definitely worth adding to any serious film lovers library. Superb audio and video as well.

This is an incredible film, providing extreme tension perfectly orchestrated by the director and cast, all leading up to a final sequence that is truly harrowing, featuring some of the best acting of Tom Hanks's career. If you appreciate this film, check out United 93 and Bloody Sunday.

I think this movie gave a realistic portrayal of what happened in the hijacking of the ship, and Tom Hanks was great as Captain Philips. The young actor portraying the lead hijacker was very convincing as well.

Tom Hanks gives his best performance since Cast Away. The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat even knowing the outcome. The last 10 minutes features some of the best acting of the year!

The steelbook packaging is really cool and way more visually appealing than the boring cover used for the normal edition. The film is fantastic, and the transfer is great -- having been mastered at 4K like most Sony home video releases..

...worth watching for the story but be warned that your blood will probably boil when one acknowledges the absurd PC policies that led up to the hijacking. Good performances by Hanks and the supporting cast.

Another 5 star movie. Last week I reviewed The Lone Survivor at 5 stars. Very few movies are worthy of 5 stars; they did this movie well. I'm proud to be American with the Navy, and SEALS on our side. Way to go!

I picked this movie solely on the fact that Tom hanks was in it.. But it turned out to be pretty decent.. ANd I know its a movie but the thing that irritated me in it was how the pirates were able to board the ship. I mean was there not a safety devise in place for such a thing... I mean they used a ladder. lol
