Tom Hanks portrays an extremely saavy Richard Phillips. He provides his shipmates and seals with valuable information about his captors and his physical position in the lifeboat. The information helps the rescuers formulate their successeul rescue plan.

really great movie, can make you cry, and just on the edge of your seat through the whole thing. This was the first drama my pre-teen boy saw as well and absolutely loved it, definitely a movie you can watch over and over again.

This movie exceeded my expectations. Although normally not a Tom Hanks fan, here he does a brilliant job portraying the ship's Captain under duress. Knowing it was based on fact and the outcome of the event did not spoil my enjoyment at all. Superb.

If you are a fan of tom Hanks you will enjoy this movie alot!! it tells the real life story of being attacked by Somali pirates and how they were able to survive until they were rescued. The movie kept you on edge and and was very well done!!!

This movie was superb.. Tom Hanks is a fine actor, as we know, but he also had an excellent supporting cast. The pirates played and acted their roles well...A good depiction of a factural part of the lives of the Sierra Leon people. Good casting.

I didnt start out wanting to see this movie but a friend of mine wanted to see it and we bought it from Best Buy. I thought it was one of the best movies out there. I cat say enough about the great acting and the story line kept your interest

Captain Phillips was an awesome movie that is based on real events. Tom Hanks is a great actor and does a great job in just about any movie he stars in. I liked the impressive stance the Navy took in the movie. I highly recommend this movie.

This is the best movie of last year. Tom Hank was excellent in the movie. This was based on true event if you have kept with the news you may remember the incident. If you have not seen it, you much watch it. It is worth the time and money.

This was really a great watch for a great price too. Got the blu Ray, dvd and digital copy for $5.99. Cant beat that. Definitely worth watching and great for collectors

I loved this "Captain Philips" DVD movie. Watched it on the edge of my seat, and recommended it to my family, friends and co-workers. The scenes were exciting and literally pulled you in! Great, great movie. Bravo Tom Hanks and director!

This was a great movie from start to finish. It is a true-based story and Tom Hank's pefrmance as Captain Phillips was worthy of an Oscar. Equally mesmerizing was the pefromance of the Samoan leader. Definitely a two thumbs up movie.

Many have praised this film for the action and realism. I remember watching this on the news, amazed as news cameras showed the amazing shot from a bobbing boat through a hole in another bobbing craft.

At times the background Music was overwhelming but I believe necessary to emphasize the terror of the experience those on the boat must have felt. Also I wish it would not have ended without spending a little more time back home.

Captain Phillips proves that Hollywood can make excellent fact-based thrillers while staying close to the truth. The acting, editing and directing are top notch making the film well deserving of its Oscar nomination. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed this movie. I thought it was exciting and the acting was excellent. I would expect it with Tom Hanks as the main character. It held my interest and kept me awake, which is a task in itself. I would recommend this movie.
