Mediocre at best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fails to live up to the success of the first Cars movie. Much more action packed and violent than the first film. Our 3 year old loved the first film and will sit through the entire thing. Our 3 year old lost interest in the film 20 or 30 minutes into it.

Not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A disappointing follow up to a mediocre movie. As a collector of films I as willing to purchase the movie but as a general audience member I would say skip it. There are much better Pixar movies out there.

Did not entertain the kids
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The kids didn’t like the movie. Didn’t engage at all. We love the 1st and 3rd movie but this one felt like you were watching a video game not a movie.

Poor sequel to the first CARS movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up this movie for my 2 year old who absolutely loved the first CARS movie. However, I was disappointed with this one and my son lost interest in the first 10 minutes. The story was disjointed and it seemed like more of an attempt to capitalize on the first movie instead of trying to make a good movie.

Burn it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This should be erased from the Pixar and Disney library. Not even my 3 year old daughter wants any part of this poor excuse for a Disney/Pixar movie. Need them steels tho.

This movie is not very good.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even my 2 year-old son thought the plot of this movie was not entertaining. Everything that was cute and enjoyable about the first movie is absent from the sequel.

Mater...Tow Mater
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is another good PIXAR movie. In Cars 2, the World Grand Prix has drawn racers from around the world and Mater is mistaken for a secret agent. Mater takes the spotlight this time and has some fun mis-adventures as a spy. There's the light-hearted slapstick humor and the more ironic humor of two top British spies thinking that Mater himself is a spy. All in all, this is a fun and entertaining movie that I highly recommend for the whole family. My advice is to ignore the critics. The critics are totally wrong about this movie. This is not the deepest or most socially significant movie ever made, but the critics have forgotten that a movie can sometimes just be fun to watch and still be a quality motion picture. My advice, decide for yourself about Cars 2! Don't let critics decide what movies you like for you, you are free to like Cars 2! The only extras in this set are the animated shorts 'Toy Story Hawaiian Holiday' where the Toy Story gang helps out a couple of thier friends and 'Air Mater', where Mater tells the tall Tale of his adventure in a town full of airplanes #a town of planes, I wonder if anyone will make a movie about that?#. You also get a sneak peek at the next PIXAR movie 'Brave'. I highly recommend this movie for a good time. This is a movie both children and adults can enjoy.

Great Sequel to Cars
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The thing I love about this movie and its prequel is that the producers (director, writers, etc) obviously have spent a lot of time not only watching racing, but in cars doing road trips. The first movie had many small details that you would only know by being both a passenger and a driver - and they got the engine sounds really well. The second is no different, in fact it is even more broad. I was very impressed with all the drivers and driver-commentators who voiced in this one (Lewis Hamilton, Jeff Gordon, David Hobbs, etc), and of course the additional pro actors for this title were excellent also (Michael Caine, Eddie Izzard, John Turturro to name a few). Plus they got the most important race inspiration if you're going to Europe - *Monaco* and its gorgeous harbor, site of the F1 Grand Prix which would be the clear choice if I could only watch one race a year. This is a 2-disc, so I'm certain the extra features are superb (though I have not yet checked them out entirely). But as a blu ray, it looks and sounds wonderful - which makes up for not getting around to watching this in the theater (where it must have been astounding). What I love about this and its prequel, and Pixar movies in general, is they get the tone right, especially by writing in lots of jokes that you have to be a grown-up to get, but enough silliness that kids will enjoy it too. And there are so many great references to other movie classics... plus a whole spy subplot which I always like. I would show this movie to anyone.

Good but a little forced
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this movie for my son's birthday. He already was a huge fan of Cars and his younger sister is, too. They found Cars 2 entertaining and my son will reach for Cars 2 when he wants to watch a movie. At first, I couldn't sit down long enough to watch this movie in entirety. I finally watched it and then re-watched it with the kids. I wouldn't say it's the best kid's movie I've ever seen, but it's entertaining. Some parts are a little annoying and contrived, but overall enjoyable ( if you can look past those scenes). It's a decent family movie and does a good job of keeping the kids entertained while I'm busy. This has a four star rating, because, I received my package quickly and in great condition.

First Disney/Pixar disappointment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first heard they were making a sequel to the 2006 Cars film I was surprised. I liked the original film BUT is not at the top of the Disney/Pixar films. For me, second to last just ahead of 1998's A Bugs Life. Other films would have made for better sequels. Perfect example 2004's The Incredibles. You could have had a story there. This story made no sense what's so ever. We adults figured out the ending of who the bad guy or should I say bad car was I will NOT say it here so there are NO spoilers in this review. McQueen back in Radiator Springs. Next race & he takes Mater & other with him. BUT, the rest of the story. 2 time Oscar winner Michael Caine could have phones the voice work in on a role he can do in his sleep. How stupid Mater is, breaking up friendships & pushing other fuels in a mess of a story that just did NOT make sense. The positive I give to the video makers. At least they released the DVD the same as the blu ray. This TERRIBLE, I COMPLAIN ABOUT IT EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS, MISTAKE OF RELEASING A BLU RAY EARLIER THAN THE DVD, was not done here. The DVD was NOT the plain jane silver ones Disney has been doing when they make those blu-ray earlier releases. You get a real colorful DVD. No chapter search list a mistake. A few extras on it, nothing major. But, when the film was disappointment. Did not live up to the expectations , since 2006 the Disney/Pixar releases have been coming out in May or June and did great business. This one did come in first place for the opening weekend, but the final numbers. When you see the film you will understand why still a hit movie it just was not normal Disney/Pixar material.
