I've been a fan of the franchise since my childhood, so this is particularly irksome. As I played, I always envisioned the Belmont clan as members of medieval aristocracy. The type that fought the horrors of the night on behalf of those who did not have the protection of high castle walls or a battalion of guards.....This took that impression and stepped all over it. It portrayed Trevor Belmont in the worn out trope of a down on his luck, binge drinking, schlep of a spoiled brat. Pretty typical for a main character 'back story' these days. While the production values are indeed high, I can't look past the aforementioned gripes with it. I will not be watching (purchasing) the subsequent seasons because I just don't care about Belmont's charecter. Dracula is kind of compelling though. I'm giving it two stars because the animators/camera ops/editors seem like they actually cared about their part of the productuon.
