My interest has been to look at sand-sized crystals. I have some mobility issues with my fingers, and quickly discovered that this scope isn't very forgiving. Parts that are wearing out quickly- the plastic screw which connects the base and pole the plastic screw which holds the scope clamp to the pole the magnification adjustment knob (also plastic- it can get stuck in one position and then require a lot of force to get to turn) In addition, on mine the illumination does not respond smoothly to the illumination knob. It goes from nothing to very bright. The switch on the illumination knob doesn't do anything (I think it's supposed to take a picture). Lastly, the scope illuminator is always on if it is plugged into the USB. The software is worthless. Auto contrast is always running, so your images will only look a certain way. I run Mac OS 10.11.6 (El Capitan), so edit them using Preview, Photos, Acrobat, etc. But I am having fun with it, so I guess I'm happy. Not blown away.

The download was hard to find. The one that I installed did not have all the features. Could not find out how to get the 200 power. The focus is stiff. Installing the post in the base is too tight, such that you may almost break the base trying to remove it.

This is a nice scope for viewing and taking detailed pictures of my coin collection. I am very satisfied with the quality and ease of use.

The microscope is good but it would be better if not only do you have to connect to your pc but that you would be able to use it with connecting it to pc or even be able to use a tablet also

Very easy microscope for the beginner & will get them out of being afraid to hurt something. Plugs right into USB port & you are off & exploring with gr8 quality photos or videos. Should've bought years ago.

Good zoom features, don’t like the celestron app however Windows Camera App works fine! Overall decent product for That is WAY overpriced. Go on amazon and you will find identical products for possibly 1/4 the price. GL all I love you!

Works good But doesn’t magnifying to what I was looking for. But all works well.

Great beginner scope. Great power, easy to use. Was very easy to install software. Was ready to use in 10 mins.

I got it to view my old stamps. It does a great job for that and anything else I've tried. It works great!

I have both this microscope and the Celestron delux handheld digital microscope. Both are easy to use. This one comes with a much better stand, higher resolution, and adjustable light intensity.

This microscope would be better labeled “Digital Microscope Hobby”. It is not a professional instrument by any stretch and, using the word “Handheld” in the product description is an oxymoron. That said, the image quality is quite good and the instrument can be very useful. Pro's: Good image quality. Easy setup. Con's Cheap plastic stand, difficult to focus and the vertical post is not long enough to allow for use at low magnifications. The software is minimal and the ARCSOFT bundle is the same you get with webcams. I'm still looking for a way to adjust the white balance for use with external lighting because the LED's are not the best source for every type of use. Suggestions: Move up the price point a little and provide a precision stand allowing for easier focus and adjustment. Including the articulating stand that comes with the lower cost 2MP model would extend the usefulness. For those that buy this microscope, I would suggest a VERY SMALL drop of light machine oil on the focusing slide to make it work smoother. If you are handy with tools, the vertical post can be changed out for a longer one for use at lower magnifications.

Excellent digital microscope. Works very well with PC/MAC. Excellent resolution picture looks very clear
