It has a good story behind it but it takes a long time for it to pick up

I was not to excited about this movie. It wasn't my cup of tea.

I had seen this movie in the theaters and wanted to show it to my daughter and granddaughter

"Chef" is a film starring, written, directed, and produced by Jon Favreau that focuses on the troubles that his character faces as a popular chef in Los Angeles that wants a change in his kitchen. Carl (Favreau) is about to have a very important critic come into the restaurant and he wants to change the regular menu in order to wow this critic. On the date of the critic's arrival, the owner of the restaurant tells Carl that he does not want him to change the menu and that he should serve his usual menu because that is why people go there to eat. Upon receiving a horrible review from the critic regardless of how the food tasted, Carl invites the critic once again and plans on serving a much different menu. However, the restaurant's owner once again informs Carl that he cannot change the menu regardless of what the critic and that if Carl does not want to serve the usual meals, he must quit. Carl decides to quit and search for a job that will allow him more creativity with his food. When he soon realizes that making it on his own is a lot tougher than expected, he reluctantly accepts to go on a family trip with his ex-wife and son. During this trip, he is able to regain his confidence and love for the kitchen. What ensues is a great, warm-filled, family adventure!

Way better than I expected. Funny and emotional. Great father and son story.

The story line was so entertaining and makes you feel as though you're involved somehow. Maybe it's the food "Yum". I stayed drawn in throughout the whole movie. The actors did so well together and they just worked it totally. Watch it and see. :)

I love the cast and it was one of the movies that you kept waiting for something bad to happen, because that's how most movies are now-this was not the case though! It was wonderful! I loved all the cooking shots in the movie.

Movie is about the vaule food, family, friends and happiness. Great stars and great performances, without being cheesy or a downer. Great soundtrack.

I got this for my wife but ended up enjoying it myself even though I don't consider myself a foodie. They lay it on a bit thick with the bad father stuff but it's worth a watch.

This is a fantastic movie with great actors, Jon Favreau is excellent.

Great cast, simple yet enjoyable plot. Great movie for any occasion.
