Still beats water but I have to my nephew as I was tired of fishing for the part. Other products out there that work much better for same price.

Faulty

I read the instructions. It says to turn it out. Well, you don’t have to turn it on. It comes on as soon as I attached it to the base. It never automatically stopped when done boiling! It just keeps going and going. I have to stop it manually. And the lid doesn’t fit on properly. And please understand. I followed the instructions in the booklet, thoroughly!

I have always used a tea kettle on the stove so I thought I would try an electric one. ~ The good: The water heats quickly and stays warm for hours. ~ The bad: 1. The unit doesn't really have a handle. To open the kettle, you have to twist BOTH the round knob on the top and long handle you depress to pour. It is difficult to open and the plastic bends as you twist open the lid. I expect the lid to be broken in the first 90 days as it is very flimsy plastic and I use my kettle many times a day. 2. The unit also operates very loudly. Sounds like you are under a waterfall in your own kitchen. 3. The only notification that the water is ready to use, is the noise stops. There is supposed to be a beep, but I have yet to hear it. 4. The base has the cord wrapped about the bottom. Good idea, but the unit pushes steam out of the lid during the heating process and I don't want the steam to damage the underside of my cabinets. The base doesn't slide very well (which is a good thing), but the cord doesn't uncoil very well either. I have almost tipped it over several times trying to slide it out from under my cabinet. Was hoping to love this item so I could get rid of the kettle on my stove...
