Excellent Toaster Oven, Decent Air Fryer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chefman Toaster Oven Air Fryer is an excellent 7-in-1 multipurpose appliance that will quickly become one of your favorite small appliances. While it doesn't do everything as well as a dedicated appliance, it is at the very least a great Toaster Oven that will let you get rid of your toaster and use your actual convection oven far less. Due to its size, you will most likely want to consolidate appliances and this Chefman Toaster/Air Fryer will let you do just that. As mentioned, this is a pretty large appliance, taller than most convection ovens with tons of settings making it extremely versatile. My wife has a hankering for pizza rolls as a snack and with our old convection oven, getting it to 375F and preheating the entire oven took 10-15 minutes. This Chefman unit preheats within minutes and cooks uniformly with all of the trays needed to make short work of these frozen bites. It also does a great job of reheating leftover pizza melting the cheese and keeping the crust crunchy instead of getting it all soggy like you would in the microwave. I will say that the Air Fryer function is not as good as a dedicated Air Fryer like our Chefman unit. I tried some fish nuggets I had frozen and prepped with light bread crumbs and while they were fully cooked, they weren't as crispy/crunchy as when I did them in my Chefman air fryer. Still, if you had to pick one device to save counter space, you can't go wrong with this Chefman Toaster/Air Fryer!!!!

Every Kitchen Should Have One
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second air fryer/convection oven/toaster oven, and I love it. If you are new to these types of ovens, there is a bit of a learning curve and it can seem a little difficult to remember everything that you have to do in order to use it properly. The Chefman is really a nice oven, however, and well worth the time. The unit looks very nice, with a stainless steel front and black top, sides, and insides. It also comes with a rack, crumb/drip pan, broil pan, and air fryer pan. There are four knobs on front that select the cooking time, temperature, mode (i.e., broil, bake, convection, air fry, etc.), and a separate toast timer. Two manuals are included, one that tells you how to use the oven for the different modes, and the other which gives some surprisingly good recipes (I tried 4 of them). It is essential to place the crumb/drip tray into the oven on the bottom slot BEFORE doing any cooking. My kids occasionally forgot this vital step with my last oven and created a huge mess. If you put the crumb/drip tray in first and make sure you take it out and clean it after the cooking is done and everything is cooled off, your oven will look a lot nicer on the inside and stay a lot cleaner. Now on to using the Chefman: Toast was SO easy to make and came out perfect. I put the crumb/drip pan in first (don't forget this step!). I placed 6 pieces on top of the rack that comes with the oven, slid it in, set the mode to toast, and set the desired doneness (light, medium or dark) of the toast. Toast came out perfect, awesome to be able to do so many pieces at once. I have followed a couple of the recipes in the included recipe book, including one for air-frying filet mignons. The bacon-wrapped filets were placed inside the included air fryer basket, which was placed inside the included broil plan, and slid it into the oven on the middle rack. I didn't need to pre-heat the oven, just slid the steaks in, selected Air Fry, and set the timer at 30 minutes. Easy-peasy and the steaks came out with a pleasant, warm, pink center. Could have stood to do them a few minutes less for more medium-rare doneness, but maybe next time! I've cooked a pan (8X8) of brownies (that's the biggest that will fit) using the regular bake function and they turned out just fine. Consistency was good, meaning that the oven doesn't have any hotspots (I hate when parts of brownies are more well done than others). It took a little longer than my large oven would have, but at least I didn't have to fire up the big beast to cook them. I've also cooked several frozen pizzas using the convection bake function. A little trial and error here, as those suckers cooked fast! It's awesome to cook a pizza in 8-10 minutes versus 15-18. Finally, I also used the air fryer to cook some frozen corn dogs. It's always so tough to cook corn dogs good in an oven. Sometimes the center is still cold when the breading is warm. Or sometimes the breading is overdone and cracks. Anyhow, using the air fryer mode to cook corn dogs in the fryer basket was amazing. They came out perfectly cooked (with the breading intact). I have also air-fried hamburger patties (makes a little bit of a mess, but easily wiped down afterward), chicken breasts (with a shake and bake coating), and bacon. Yes, bacon is cooked oh so beautifully in the Chefman. Again, a little spatter and mess, but Chefman made these ovens easy to clean afterward. My next goal is to try the vegetable medley recipe that Chefman includes in the little recipe book. It has you create steam inside the oven before adding the vegetables. All-in-all, my experience with the Chefman has been amazing, and I am glad I have it. There is a little bit of a learning curve, and the cook times can be a little longer than desired, but it is a much healthier solution to frying in oil. Highly recommended!

A Kitchen's Must-Have!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me open with, “I am blown away with the versatility of this oven air fryer!” As a person who is trying to employ all around healthy eating habits this fryer comes right on time to help me achieve such results. I have tried several things with this fryer such as roasted chicken, toast, steaks, and wings all of which I achieved optimal cooking results! I am impressed how thorough and even it cooks foods. Initially, I was a bit concerned about how the food would come out, due to less time than a conventional oven, but to my surprise it cooks very well! I will add, the foods I’ve tried turned out very moistened with all natural flavors sealed into the foods. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about this oven and how multi-faceted it is. As such, I highly recommend this as a must have in kitchens!!!

A Time and Energy Saver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Firing up a full-sized kitchen oven to bake a small pizza or a dozen wings is a waste of energy both to cook the meal and to cool the house if the A/C is running at the time. Add to that the fact that the Chefman Toaster Oven, Air Fryer has features that most full-size ovens don’t (e.g. forced hot air baking) it’s a good addition to most kitchens. Features: - Advertised interior dimensions not counting interior elements, racks and handles: 15.5” x 12.2” x 7.75” which equals .883 cu ft or 25 liters. - My actual USABLE interior dimensions: 12.5" wide x 11" deep x 7.75" high which equals .617 cu ft or 24.01 liters. - 1500 total watt heating elements. - Keep Warm, Broil, Toast, Bake and Air Fry (convection) cooking options. - Included Accessories are an Air Fryer Basket, a Wire Rack, a Broil/Baking Pan, a removable Crumb/Drip Tray and an online cookbook. PROS: - Will “Air Fry” French Fries, vegetables etc. with a small fraction of the oil needed for deep frying. - Accessories are dishwasher safe and the interior walls are non-stick and washable. - Will cook meals for one or two with far less electricity than a full size oven. - Can take the place of a full-sized oven in confined spaces. CONS: - USABLE interior dimensions are slightly smaller than listed. This was particularly a problem for me with the depth of the oven, which is listed as 12.2” but is effectively 11” which means that a 12” pizza for example will touch the front door glass and the back of the oven. - The dark rubber feet can leave marks on some countertop colors and textures if the oven is dragged across the counter. - The considerable air volume below and above the rack means that by the time slices of bread are toasted brown by radiant heat, they are very dried out and brittle. This is a common issue with convection ovens used as bread toasters. Conclusion: This is a good example of the counter top convectional oven appliance and is worth the counter space it takes up. The more you use it, the more you’ll use it.

Who needs a real oven anymore
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SO I hardly use my real oven anymore. I am preparing any meal I can that fits inside. Which so far is just about everything. We use it to toast items in the morning for breakfast, it makes great cinnamon rolls by the way. We use it to air bake pork loins, chicken burgers, turkey burgers, hamburgers, we make mini tortilla pizzas. We bake fish too. You name it, we have done it. You have to check the settings to get it the way you want. The sausages we bake come out SOOO juicy and it is like 1/3 of the regular time of a oven. This is the way to go for baking and toasting needs. We hardly even use our full size convection oven anymore. So glad we finally made this purchase.

Good at what it does
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used the air fryer and convection baking settings on the Chefman Toast-Air to make crispy wedge potatoes and stuffed crepes, respectively. Air fryer worked great! So crispy on all sides and flavorful. The crepes took no time at all. I also made the crunchy spiced chickpea recipe that came in the recipe booklet - yum! Unlike our chef’s double oven, it takes practically no time to preheat, which is a huge plus. The only thing is that the unit takes up a TON of counter space, and I don’t like cluttered counters. It’s too deep to put in an upper cabinet, so I have to find room elsewhere, as I wouldn’t leave it on my counter. It would be great for a small apartment that didn’t have a good oven, or for warm climates where you want baked goods but don’t want to heat the house using the oven. More of a multipurpose small oven than “classic” air fryer and toaster oven.

Who needs an oven?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were very excited to get our hands on this! An oven, a toaster, and an air fryer all in one? What more do you need? We took it out of the box and wiped it down like the instructions call for. Thankfully I listened to my wife and we put the oven outside on the patio to turn it on. The smell was awful! As with many appliances, the first time you use them they putt off an awful electronicy smell, and this one was no different. Our house would have smelled awful for days had we not turned it on outside. After we were done burning off the funk, we put it on the counter and made some toast. This was VERY disappointing, and the reason this thing loses a star. The toast looks beautiful, but it's hard as a rock. I don't know why toast would be different out of this thing vs a toaster, but it's not enjoyable. The toast it makes is rock hard and dry as a bone. We want crisp on the outside, soft on the inside toast. You aren't going to get that with this machine. Our next attempt was to cook chicken breasts. These came out awesome! Night number 2, I brought home some chicken wings to test out the air fryer. They came out absolutely delicious. It was my first time using an air fryer so I was skeptical. Boy was I wrong. The wings were cooked perfectly. They were perfectly crispy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. All-in-all, we are happy with it. I am taking off 2 stars. 1 for the toast and 1 for a combination of the smell and the size. It takes up a LOT of counter space. It's an average kitchen device that does 2 things well, and 1 not so well.

Nice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Toaster oven/ air fryer works well and looks good. Nice quality and build not cheap like some. Analog controls which I prefer over digital seem simpler to use and stay set for future use till you want to change them. Has seven modes bake or broil with or without convection, warm, toast, and air fry. Convenient interior light when in use and door switch pauses cooking when door is opened. Comes with rack, sheet and frying basket. Handle for basket too. Rack holds a 12" pizza. Nice stainless steel front, looks good on my counter. I like it.

Mixed review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Up front: we wish we'd purchased the Best Buy extended warranty. The problems we've had are the main reason for 4 ratings vs 5 (and see below). We got this model Chefman Air Fryer for Christmas 2019 and liked it well enough. Frozen pizzas came out better than in the oven and air fried french fries were easy and healthier, among other things. Toast was mediocre- took a long time and was uneven. Then, one April day it failed: no power, no heat, the timer was the only thing that worked. Worked fine one day, then dead as a doornail the next. Chefman demanded a video showing it not working- rather ludicrous as there was nothing to show. Customer service said they'd replace it with the new model in July. It was finally ready to ship in early September, but then didn't get shipped for another 10 days or so and finally arrived last week- late September. At first I was disappointed. The interior dimensions of the new model are smaller so the original trays do not fit. In fact, there is no bottom drip tray at all. The exterior dimensions are larger so we presume that the new model is better insulated. Also, the case is metallic, not black. The new model has an interior light button, an improvement (the interior light in the model pictured here only came on when the door was opened which was annoying). After cooking a few things, we are more pleased with the new fryer than the old model. French fries cook up faster and crispier and toast is faster and more even, except it cooks faster on one side than the other, requiring flipping it to finish the other side- not a biggie. Just checked- the new model is 1800 watts vs this model's 1500 watts. Good job, Chefman, for making a good thing better. I would give the new model 5 ratings while this model deserves the 4's it got. We look forward to more happy cooking and just hope it doesn't fail.

Great multi usages
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device handily replaces the space taken up by my microwave but with more capabilities. I can brown like fried chicken which is nicely golden brown and succulent inside. Toast comes out like toast does taske a bit longer. The controls are easy to use but sort of plasticity but still overall quality seems very good.

Versatile appliance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This toaster oven works as well as any for the basic toaster oven functions like toast, bake, and broil. The air fryer is a nice addition and works great with things like french fries and chicken nuggets. Just make sure they are arranged in a single layer on the fryer rack and it works great. I like that the controls are along the top rather than the side, it makes it fit much better in my kitchen.

Great Oven Air Fryer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been looking for a unit that would let me bake small portions without heating the big oven. This unit is perfect for that. It also toasts perfectly according to what you like. (light, medium, dark) The unit size is great for a smaller space and it doesn't heat up the whole kitchen. I've been using it nearly every day.
