It takes up far more space, heightwise. The biggest adjustment is that it seems to cook about 25 degrees higher than I'm used to. It's my first experience with convection cooking, too, and I wasn't pleased with my reheated meal also being dried out. Buyer be forewarned if you also haven't had previous convection experience. I found the price extremely high, but my store choices were very limited. This had better last at least 15 years like my previous toaster oven.

It is well-built and has been capable of a wide variety of cooking methods. It's quick to heat up without heating up the counter or surrounding area. It has simplified our cooking tasks a lot. The cons: it requires a bit of real estate on the counter. The cooking instructions and minimal recipe pamphlet leave a lot to be desired as we were hoping for a list of temps and times for food items per pound, for example.
