Before that, I had to close the basket forcefully to enable the heating element to engage. I also had to replace the tray at about the one year mark as the non stick surface started to peel. For 2hat ai paid, itccx was a bargain and introduced me to air frying. Game changer for people that enjoy "fried" foods without the heart attack inducing unhealthiness of all things fried.
