Fast nearly oil less food and yummy!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chefman TurboFry Air Fryer is a fantastic air fryer and cooks the food perfectly, and if you follow the directions then everything will come out perfectly. At least that is what my experience has been with it. If you have a larger family or people that eat a lot, you might want to get a bigger model, but I found that this 3.5L size was perfect for my wife and I. To me the food just tastes much better without all of the oil that you usually have to cook with. Chicken wings come out crispy and oh so tasty!! The analog dial allows you to easily set the timer and temperature without having to figure out a complicated digital system. Clean up has been very easy and the directions say that the basket can be put in the dishwasher, but I did not clean mine that way. The non-stick basket is easy to just wash off with some soap and water. The overall design is pleasant to look at an it fits in nicely if you have other black appliances in your house, I have all stainless steel and it still looks good. The ease of use, clean up, taste of food, and healthier cooking options make this a win win for any kitchen.

It’s alright
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wouldn’t recommend, it’s not as powerful as other air fryers I’ve tried but I guess for 30 dollars(when on sale) it’s a decent price. Gets the job done but I don’t know for how much longer.

A Healthier Alternative to Cleaner Eating!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, this fryer does a great job of eliminating grease! I truly did not know until obtaining this fryer, how much grease is packed into fried foods such as fish, potatoes, onion rings, etc. I truly try to steer away from fried foods but on occasion, I enjoy a few fries with a hamburger. The setup of this fryer was truly simple as all that needs to be done is select your setting and place your item in for cooking. There is a blue and red dial. This is my first air fryer as such, I am impressed with how simple but thorough it is. I tried some French-fried wedges and they were DELICIOUS! This cooking gadget eliminates all the unhealthy oils as such, a better taste for the purity of foods is gotten by using this cooker. Also, I will add, I was elated to find out that clean up of this gadget is very easy. I have only one complaint and it’s geared towards ME-- I am sorry it has taken me so long to try an air fryer!

Works but not good quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works but the quality isn’t good. The tiny handle on the rack, that’s used to take it out of the basket, came off the first time I tried to get it out for cleaning.

Very easty to use, cooks beautifully
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This air fryer is delightfully simple to use. There are only two controls, a temperature dial and a timer dial. Set the temperature, set the timer, and walk away. Some caveats on this in a moment. We’ve prepared three different foods in this so far. We made brats and vegetables, and that turned out well. We had four brats in the pan, and the upper ones cooked faster than the lower ones, but all were completely cooked by the end of the session. The vegetables, which we had wrapped in foil as recommended by the recipe we found, turned out perfect. We then made chicken breasts. This was easy. We put two of them in the fryer, and 25 minutes later, we had two nicely-cooked chicken breasts. Air frying typically takes about half the time it would take in a conventional oven, and that certainly turned out to be true in this case as it typically takes about an hour to bake a chicken breast in a 400 degree oven. Most recently, we made French fries, and here you have to be a little careful. The included recipe booklet suggests 25 minutes at 400 degrees to cook the fries, and it should also say that you should pull out the fryer basket about every five minutes during that time and give it a good shake to redistribute the fries, otherwise, some will be crispier than others. The design of this fryer makes it easy to interrupt a frying session as all you do is pull the basket out, do whatever you need to do (shake it, add spices, whatever), and put it back in. The heat automatically shuts off when you pull out the basket and then restarts when you put it back in. The timer runs continuously through the process. The basket includes a tray to elevate the food slightly off the bottom of the pan for better air circulation, and both can be cleaned in the top rack of a dishwasher. They’re also easy to clean by hand. We had never experienced air-frying before, and we like both that we can cook foods without the need to deep fry them in oil and that foods cook in about half the time they would take in a conventional oven at the same temperature. Highly recommended.

Wings, rings, fries, cheese sticks in ½ the time…
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wings, rings, fries, cheese sticks in ½ the time… This was purchased with the idea of a “snack machine” to whip up orders of wings, rings, fries, cheese sticks >> all kinds of snacky finger-food without having to fire up the oven and deal with a lot of different pans. Mission accomplished as this little convection oven cooks up food in ½ the time of a conventional oven, keeps the kitchen from heating up, and is VERY easy to clean up afterwards. Dishwasher safe container and drainage screen, but really it is so quick to clean up that a quick wipe with the soapy cloth and rinse just takes a minute. For a family meal, this works best for the items that would normally go in the oven or deep-fry cooker, as long as you keep in mind the overall capacity and plan what to use the Chefman for and what order to put in the different items. For a single person, no problem putting a whole meal in at once for quick and oil-free cooking. For a couple of people, still plenty of room to make a couple of good platefuls of food. More than that, and a little planning is needed. This model does not have some of the bells and whistles of the more expensive models, but that’s actually a nice thing as there is a temperature knob and a timer and off you go. A digital display might be nice, like you have on most microwaves, but actually who pays much attention other than “set it” and “it’s done” – so extra bells and whistles don’t really get much use after all. Love the way the “crispy” foods are really, really crispy – and the bar-b-que chicken wings are well-cooked and very moist inside since they cook so quickly. Actually, the more we use this, the more we like it as we learn what cooks best and how best to cook. NOTE: I saw a review or two saying that there was not way to turn off the unit without unplugging it? Easy peasy just turn the timer knob back to “0” and listen for the bell “ding” – you have to turn the timer knob firmly, so maybe those reviewers were a little shy about turning the timer knob back. Bottom line >> the wife is happy, which means I am too!

Read the manual!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a first time air fryer user, I wasn't really sure how it worked. After some experimenting, it works a lot like a broiler in your oven - all of the heat seems to be generated from the top. With that in mind, as the manual says - flip things you'd normally flip (burgers) and other loose things need to be mixed up at least halfway through. Adding oil to things you want to be crispy (at all) is also required. I don't own any sort of oil sprayer, but buying that in tandem with this will make your end products better. I think this product would be great for a bachelor as you can pretty much create an entire meal inside it. Set the timer and the heat and forget it (if you need to tend to anything halfway through, I suggest setting the timer for that halfway mark). However if you're using this for a family of four, it's going to pretty much be relegated to making some sort of side (likely fries). I've made burgers and homemade chicken tenders in this. Burgers HAVE to be flipped, and seemed to take a little longer than the manual says. I didn't know I had to add oil to the tenders at first, so the panko on the outside came out like desert sand. I added some oil and threw them back in for another 5 min - they survived the encounter. In both cases, the meat stayed very moist. The interior basket where the food goes is in two parts and covered in teflon. It's awesome to just throw all of it in the dishwasher, however if you are making burgers (or something as messy) and have to hand wash, cleaning the basket 'vents' can be a challenge.

Makes the best pizza rolls ever!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am addicted to air frying now thanks to the Chefman TurboFry. I cannot stress enough how awesome pizza rolls are in this thing. Also, zucchini is amazing as well as most anything I have put into the air frying machine. Assembly, well, there is none, just clean it before first use and have a blast. Quick frying without all the mess and splattering fat all over your stove. Make your meals a little healthier without suffering in the taste department. Cleanups are a breeze with the TurboFry, takes less than a minute to clean which makes dinner making more enjoyable. Pizza Rolls!!!! So dang good!

Works as it should, reliable, dependable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned a similar model air fryer that I purchased from Bast Buy a few years ago on sale, and to be honest this works just as well as the one I got years ago. Air Fryers seem to be pretty standard, just like microwaves, with the main differences being power and size. at 3.7qt/3.5L this can hold in my opinion an average amount of things you'd want to air fry. It's pretty standard but works as an air fryer should. I like how it looks and how easy it is to use. Maybe I'll give my old one away and keep this new one. :)

IT'S A KEEPER
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CHEFMAN - TurboFry 3.7qt/3.5L Analog Air Fryer was delivered right around the time my grandkids came to visit. I decided to try out the easy recipe for chicken nuggets that comes with the air fryer recipe booklet. My grandson took one bite and proclaimed, “Just like Chick-fil-A!” And downed about 10. Easy to use and clean and the basic analog controls are actually very helpful. They make it very simple to use - and, apparently, contribute to it's more affordable price. It’s a keeper.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CHEFMAN - TurboFry 3.7qt/3.5L Analog Air Fryer is nothing short of amazing. It is really easy to use and easy to maintain. Most importantly, it does an outstanding job of cooking fried foods. We use it for french fries, chicken, nuggets and shrimp. They all turn out great! I love the timer feature. Makes it easy to cook food and multi-task without the fear of overcooking. I highly recommend the CHEFMAN - TurboFry 3.7qt/3.5L Analog Air Fryer.

Surprised how well it works
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing the unit is simple. It's just the cooker and a packet of instructions. The air fryer has but two controls, a timer that goes to 60 minutes and a thermostat that goes to 400 degrees. I unboxed the fryer and washed the removable rack and basket with hot soapy water. It does state that it's upper rack dishwasher safe, but I prefer to just hand wash it, dry and put it back once it's cooled down. Plus the rack has 4 rubber feet that I feel would get lost or damaged with repeat washings. So, once washed and wiped down, the fryer was ready for use. I did a batch of frozen store brand steak fries to see how it compared with the large air fryer/pressure cooker I've been using. I poured about 25 fries in the basket, gave them a quick spray of coconut oil and put the fries in the cooker. According to the quick start page, they have about 20 items listed and frozen fries are on there. 400 degrees at 20 minutes compared to my larger unit that runs at 360 for 16 minutes. The timer finished at the end of the cook cycle and sounds like one of those old timers with a single "ding". I have to say I'm either getting better at air frying or this thing just kicked my name brand expensive pressure cooker/air fryer's butt. The fries were moist and powdery (is that a word?). A squirt of ketchup on them and I was plenty happy. I would totally recommend this unit to others as it's fairly inexpensive and works well with frozen fries. I'm sure I'll be trying other items and it will be hit or miss as I adjust cook times and temps, but I'm also sure I'll have some really good meals too.

Ding fries are done! Sorta...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying I love fried food. I own a deep fryer, and I'm not afraid to use it. But I kept hearing about air frying from my friends and coworkers and they all swear by it, so I thought I would give it a try. The first thing I like about this air fryer is how fast it is compared to traditional oil fryers. I don't have to wait for it to warm up. Typically I can make a batch of food faster than my deep fat fryer takes to even warm up. Second, I like that it doesn't heat up my kitchen very much... that's really important when my air conditioner is struggling to cool my house down when it's above 90 every day outside. 3rd. It's versatile. I am able to cook more food in it than stuff that would typically be fried. It says I can cook chicken breasts and other kinds of meat in it, but I chose to cook some large peeled and deveined shrimp in it, and they came out perfectly steamed. I tried several different foods to get a good idea of how it worked and if I liked it or not. 1st. I tried frozen shoe string fries... I followed the included directions/suggestions and they came out golden brown, and looking so beautiful... unfortunately, they were as dry and crunchy as if I picked a bunch of sticks out of my back yard to eat. 2nd. I tried frozen Chicken nuggets, once again I followed the suggested time and temp settings, and the nuggets came out nearly identical to how they come out when I deep fry them, only they were much less oily... the crispyness I would rate as a 9 out of 10 compared to deep fat. 3rd. I cooked up a batch of tater tots, and I would rate those an 8 out of 10 compared to deep fat. Just as crispy/crunchy, nice and golden brown, but a little bit dried out. 4th. I steamed some shrimp in old bay... they came out perfect, 10 out of 10... plus there's no way for a deep fryer to steam shrimp, so an extra 10 points... 5th. I cooked up a batch of Nathans frozen onion rings... again an 8 out of 10 compared to deep fat frying. They were plenty golden brown, and plenty crispy... the only issue it they were a little to hard and crunchy and kinda dried out. Over all I like my air fryer, but not as much as I like my actual deep fat fryer. The air fryer is fast and multi talented as far as what it can cook and how fast it cooks it, but once my deep fat fryer is up to temp it can fry a batch of food in about 1/3rd of the time so when cooking for multiple people the deep fryer is faster. The deep fryer also seals in the juices and food is much more tender/juicy with a flaky crispiness instead of a dry toasted crunchiness that the air fryer has. I do like my air fryer a lot though, and would recommend it to anyone looking to be able to make healthy food quickly and easily. The fried description is a little misleading though because the food comes out more like it was cooked in a toaster.

Good if you're starting out...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve tried a few recipes from the included book, and they have all been straight-forward. Particularly the bacon and parmesan Brussel sprouts and the sweet potato fries. If you haven’t used an air-fryer before, essentially it works as follows: whatever you’re cooking, you toss it in oil (they recommend olive, I used avocado) before putting it into the basket; set the temperature and timer; most likely you’ll pull the basket out and toss the food around mid-cooking; once the timer is done you just pour out whatever you’re cooking. The recommendations in the recipes seemed fairly spot on, assuming you’ve pre-heated the air-fryer. The first thing that I cooked was the Brussel sprouts, and step 1 was cooking the bacon. The instructions said to cook for 6 minutes, but that the bacon would likely be done by 5 minutes. After the full 6 minutes, the ends of the bacon were crisp, but most of the rest was still fairly raw. Perhaps this would have been better with pre-heating. Further, it is very easy to use for drier vegetables like the sprouts. With the sweet potatoes, you have to be careful to not overfill the basket. Whatever is standing on it’s own will be well cooked. If two of the fries are lying together, the air doesn’t get in between them and they will be largely un-fried (they’ll be hot, but won’t get the crisp outside). I think this is useful if you’re cooking a lot of vegetables and don’t like to lay everything out for a toaster oven or regular oven (or if you just don’t want to heat up the full oven to cook a small amount of vegetables. Is this an absolutely necessary kitchen appliance? No. Does it have uses? Definitely. If you like the idea of the air-frying, go for it. If you’re living alone and only need to cook small portions, go for it. If you’re cooking for large groups, this won’t have the capacity to feed more than 2-3 people.

Fast Cooking, Quiet, Looks Good on the Counter
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My experience with the Chefman 3.7qt Air Fryer is based on a few days of cooking fries - regular and sweet potato. Both turned out excellent, although I would side more with regular fries as they had the crispiness you normally associated with deep frying. The rack size is 3.7Qt, in my tests it's more about the diameter of the base than the depth of the basket. Stacking things on top of each other didnt seem to perform as well. A tip for when you air fry, you should still rotate/flip whatever you're cooking for the best result. Operation wise the Chefman 3.7Qt Air Fryer is just too easy (I see myself eating more fries than ever!). You lightly coat in oil whatever you want to cook, set the temperature (up to 400F) and turn on the timer. The timer is a manual dial, so there's a soft ticking as it counts down and a physical bell ding! when everything is cooked. As a safety feature, the Chefman Air Fryer doesn't turn "on" until you set the timer and automatically turns off when cooking is done. I found that the second batch of items always cooks better, so my personal tip is to turn the Air Fryer on for 2-3 minutes just before you do your first batch of fries (or whatever) so that the system is hot and ready to go. On your counter top the Chefman Air Fryer looks good, the Chefman branding is discrete and if you have the kitchen space you would be fine leaving it out all the time. I have a smaller kitchen, so I put it away betweem each use. Oh... and the cooking tray/parts are all dishwasher safe. If you enjoy fried food (fresh frieds in 15min!), wings, etc. then this is a good purchase.
