A cooking sensation for sure !
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have heard many good things about this type of product. So was eager to give this Air Fryer a try. Came with a small cookbook to help get started. The tray for food is a little small. My older sister said it won’t hold a 3 lb. whole chicken but not so sure about that. Younger sister gave us some tips on how to use machine. She said to be sure to turn over the food so it doesn’t get burned. She recently made turkey kebobs. Yum. We tried potatoes and chicken wings first. Very satisfying results. But older sister likes to make desserts too. Joining the Club Chefman to get more ideas on how to use this machine. https://www.clubchefman.com/about Of course I encourage everyone to check out the product web page to learn more about good things this machine can do. Like cooking with very little oil and how crispy food comes out. Looks easy to clean. Being able to remove food tray makes it a breeze to keep it clean. The temp control knob on my stove recently broke so glad I can use machine on an electrical outlet near the stove. This is a cooking sensation in my opinion, so encourage people to try one out soon.

Healthy Frying?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical at first wondering how things would taste and how food would come out of this fryer. So I took some time before writing this review to be sure of the food and my thoughts. Boy were my concerns unfounded. Easy to use and feels well built, there are instructions included of course and a short cook book to get you started on some recipes. The temperature and Timer Dials are on the front and the basket is easy to insert and remove and you are able to put them in the dishwasher after use so how can you go wrong? Right off the bat I tried the Panko Green Bean Fries and the Parmesan Pickle Chips (since both use Panko bread crumbs and I had some in the house). They both came out fantastic and tasted great and with the minimal oil needed I feel less guilt when eating these fried foods. I’ve made French fries and sweet potato fries as well in the Chefman and all came out great. The more I use the Chefman the better I get at the outcome, right crispness etc. so you do have to get used to getting the right temp and times set. Overall you cant go wrong with this great addition to your kitchen.

Great alternative to deep fat frying
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried this initially with some crusted pork chops and I was pleasantly surprised with how juicy and crispy they came out. The fryer is basically a nice convection cooker and it fries food fairly quick. The beauty of it was that I merely sprayed some cooking oil over the top and it came out like I had deep fat fried the chops. This will become a cooker that I use frequently due the simplicity and added health benefits. The cleanup is seamless with the removable cooking basket. It took me just a couple of minutes to have this completely cleaned up and back to new. No mess on the counter due to grease spills either. I tried it a second time making some tater tots. These also came out nice and crispy, yet tender in the middle. Very similar to ones that had been fried in grease. I like that things taste fried without actually frying them. I wish I had a larger version of this fryer. I have a large family and the only negative was the capacity. I wish I had purchased a larger version of this. Other than capacity limitations, this is a great cooking device.

Easy way to make healthy food
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never owned a true deep fryer, so I can't compare it to an air fryer, but I can say that when you figure out what you're doing, the air fryer can deliver some great food. The biggest challenge is stepping outside of your comfort zone (coming from someone who tends to make the same things to eat) and trying to experiment. For example, I would buy this just to make tater tots and sweet potato fries. But for some people, they may not eat those enough to justify the purchase. When looking around for new recipes, I was amazed at how many different types of things you can make with this fryer. For example, it does a great job of "air-frying" frozen vegetables (no more boiling water and dropping frozen veggies into the sauce pan), it makes delicious pizza rolls and reheating leftovers. So not only does it make healthier food (using less oil) it is a great set it and forget it counter top device that is just easier to use (for certain things) than an oven of your stove top. Another benefit is clean up. The basket is dishwasher safe (which is awesome) and is easy to clean up by hand. It certainly beats cleaning pots and pans or baking trays that you might use to make food the more traditional way. If you are interested in trying out an air fryer, this is a great option. And personally, I prefer the analog controllers (vs digital controls). I think it makes the fryer look elegant and easier to use. You literally turn the knob for temperature (between 200 and 400 degrees F) and the knob for time (up to an hour). And it turns off automatically, no forgetting to turn the oven off. The "large" basket is good for small families (2-4) people. If you're cooking for a crowd, it will obviously take longer to cook because you'll have to make several batches. But if you're like me, I'm mostly cooking for 4 people and the basket is plenty large to make enough food for my family. While I don't think it's a bad looking small appliance, and for what it does and the size of the frying basket it's not that big (compared to say a Ninja Foodi) but I still don't like it cluttering up my counter. It's pretty big to just be sitting on your counter. But if it's not there you, then it's out of sight out of mind. I know that sounds nit picky, but I think it's something to consider when thinking about how much you'll use it (especially given my comments above where if you're new to an air fryer, you might not know what all it can do). But if you regularly use your oven to bake frozen items or use the stove top or microwave for frozen sides like vegetables, this is a great option as it's much easier to use and clean up (and you don't have to wait for preheating). All in all, air fryers are nice appliances to have that give you options in how to make your food. And this Chefman is a terrific balance of performance, looks, size and price. I recommend it.

Nice tool for healthy eating.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had never used an airfryer before so I had no basis for comparison. We fried chicken tenders and followed a recipe found online. Pros: - The non-stick basket is extremely easy to clean, as is the plastic housing of the unit, and the smooth surfaces have few places to trap crumbs and little food bits. - The unit seems to cook the food in the time stated in the recipe. Maybe even a bit faster, as our chicken was a little over-done. Some practice to dial in cooking times might yield better, more consistent results. - It has a simple, clean design, and looks good sitting on the counter. Cons: - I would prefer that the dials have more distinct numbers. Rather than 50 degree divisions: 200, 250, 300, etc., I’d prefer 25 degrees: 200, 225, 250, 275, 300, etc. - Also for the timer, I would prefer each numeral displayed, or tick marks at least between the major intervals of 5-10 minutes so if the recipe says cook for 22 minutes, I don’t have to guess where to set the dial (somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes). - The unit also didn’t feel very stable when pushing the basket in. It wobbled a bit and felt top-heavy. Overall, I think this air fryer will give us good service and help us have some crunchy texture without all the fat content of traditional fried foods. While I am looking forward to trying more recipes, and I would recommend it to a friend after offering the observations above, I think a few minor tweaks would make this air fryer much more user friendly.

simple to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.its a simple air fryer to use. only downside is they don't say to pre heat. I find it best to pre heat first. takes a few minutes. its basically like using an oven. kinda a mix for baking and broil. and so you pre heat your oven. I have another air fryer that has a pre heat and pre heats for you. I also just get a feeling that the inner tray might come out one day while dumping out food. it just sits in there and has 4 spots that it kinda latches in. but easy to pull it out so just feel that could have been better like a latch that you have to do or have a second basket that comes out that is slightly smaller and when placed in slightly raised for airflow. but other then those. its simple like I said. 2 buttons, one you turn to what temp you want, the other for time. has directions that suggests different settings for different things. if you are looking to try a air fryer, this is basic but worth it.

Compact and efficient
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit does not have a ton of features, but it works well. It is compact and the basket is sufficient for its size. Cooks quickly and easily cleans and is dishwasher safe.

Works well in small package
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As noted this is a analog device. Temp and timer are manual--no fancy digital electronics to fail or confuse users. I would have liked a louder bell to indicate the timer is finished. There is a blue light on top that is on when the unit is plugged in and the basket is properly inserted. A red light comes on when its cooking. Nice and simple. The basket measures 7.5 inches wide and 2.5 inched deep. This is good for two side servings of lets say fried broccoli or cauliflower or two-three chicken breasts.. I have also used the unit to re-heat Chinese take out spare ribs which it does in about 8 minutes at 375 degrees. Be sure to check the food often as it cooks faster than you think it will, if you dont check it you will have burnt food. This unit looks to be good for a 2 person household or a dorm room.

Quality at a reasonable price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quality air fryer at a reasonable price. At full price it isn't much of a bargain, but for 50% off during the holidays, it's probably the best air fryer deal out there.
