Air Frying = A Guilt Free Party
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it! Couldn't be easier. Quick Start Guide gets you off the mark without delay. Even so, I got studious and read the manual which, at various points, I found redundant. But, no regrets because when I don't read the manual, I get in trouble. Since learning that high heat can make most oils toxic in a manner that gunk up metabolic efficiencies, only AFTER cooking do I put oils on my food. Though I still miss fried foods, for years and for the sake of weight management, I have refrained from a favorite indulgence. The introduction of air fryers gave me hope that I could return to the decadent flavors of the good ole days. But, I had reservations. All TV and online media recommend using a little oil, the very stuff I didn't want on my food. Thankfully, I followed my instincts and decided to try the Chefman alternative to frying. Instead of coating items going into the air fryer with oil,so far, I have used COCONUT AMINOS or BRAGGs AMINOS. My experiments have resulted in the same crispy exteriors that the oils create. The recipe book encouraged a fanned sweet potato that, coated with aminos then covered with slices of goat brie in the last 3 minutes, hit me with quite the gastronomic ecstasy. I bet juice concentrates such as pineapple, black cherry, mango, pomegranate etc will also result in some excellent flavor profiles on seafood, meats and veggies. Also, if you don't have fresh spices on hand, consider collecting an array of extracts to blend into the juice concentrates. For instance, a drop or two of mint extract in a cranberry concentrate over lamb with a dry rosemary and salt rub could turn up the volume on what would otherwise be bleh! Found the temp setting a little restrictive with a limit at 400 degrees; but, in the end, I just compensated by extending the time. The digital screen is intuitive and super simple to use. And, when I got a mess of cheese shreds crusted onto the grilling rack, I wondered how long it would take to clean up that mistake. As per usual, I sprayed down the tray with H202 (hydrogen peroxide); so, the burned on crusty remnants loosened up for a quick clean up. Nonetheless, the manual doesn't say what the coating is on the interior surfaces; but, I suspect the easy clean up might also have quite a bit to do with what seems to be a non stick surface. I haven't yet found the content of the interior surface yet in the manual; but, I will be calling customer service to investigate. The aesthetics of the black egg shaped unit ties in nicely with my black edged stainless steel fridge and oven. And, the unit moves easily between surfaces when you need to make space. But, check the measurements if you intend the Chefman for under- or in- cabinet storage. Depending on your age, size, muscularity and any other physical limitations, et. al, the weight might be a tad challenging if you have to go high or low for storage. For the digital settings you get with the air fryer tech at ~$79.99, priced about right if you don't want to or need to duplicate other appliances you already have on hand. Noticed that the Chefman version with the analog dial (if still available) may afford similar air fryer capability as this turbo, next gen model if you want to save duckets and are not enamored with digital. But, compare all specs before purchase for due diligence. BTW, competitors that include an air fryer function while replacing other appliances in one unit will cost twice and thrice as much. But, this unit is a durable solution that suits my needs. I will try to dehydrate small batches of tomatoes, herbs, fruits, veggies, etc; but, the lowest temp on the unit may be too high. As indicated by my regular use of the air fryer and though high temps diminish nutrient density even in blenders, I allow myself moments of relief from restriction. Willingness to compromise can be relative to the suffering health challenges present. While pain free and not pressed to go raw, in party mode with the Chefman air fryer until further notice!

The looking is over!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been researching air fryer products and wasn't finding exactly what I was wanting. That all changed when I got the this air fryer. I went with the digital model as I thought it would better fit my high tech kitchen; plus it is 2019 and we live in the digital age. It is nice sized but compact, super easy to use & worked perfectly. While it does take a little longer to fry than a conventional oil fryer the food tastes absolutely amazing. I prepared some frozen french fries in it & they were great! This will be my go to instead of oil frying or pan baking frozen items from now on. Beyond happy with the product, it's ease of use & most importantly the results: great tasting food! I can't think of any negatives right now but if I run across some I will attempt to edit my review with the new details. Happy (Air) Frying!

Bought this for my brother and after 2 months the black started coming off and now It looks disgusting and don’t want to use anymore l. The black comes off when you wash it I would spend the extra $$ for a better one.

||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price of the product, this lasted us longer than we expected! We used it 2-3 times a week and everything turned out wonderful! I have it 3 instead of 4 stars because the inside pan started to peel.

Good device
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice lil fryer to speed up cooking. Good for kids and definitely safer for young cooks. Only negative is basket insert coating doesn't last long. Recommend tin foil to save the nonstick coating from flaking.

Easy to use for a First timer to a Veteran
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first Air Fryer I’ve ever owned. I love fried food, but hate all the grease and/or oil that goes with them. Today I tried the Chefman 3.7qt TurboFry Air Fryer for the first time making sweet potato fries. They actually came out very good. The Chefman 3.7qt Turbo Air Fryer is actually not as big as I thought it was and only weights a couple of pounds. There are only 3 actual pieces, the appliance itself, the fryer basket and a vented tray that goes into the basket. The digital functions take a bit getting used to, but once I got the hang of it, it was easy to program. A few of the fries burned a little as I cut them a little to thin. I’ll get the hang of this. It comes with a quick start guide, small recipe book and a cooking chart for common items, like fries, chicken nuggets, etc. The guide gives instructions for both homemade fries and nuggets as well as frozen ones. I haven’t tried the frozen items yet as I prefer to make my own. The recipe book has 16 quick start recipes, like, fries, meatballs, BBQ wings, Veggie Burgers and more. The recipes are very easy to follow. There are even a couple of baking recipes. There are even more recipes and hints on the Chefman website which I will be checking out. One major hint is to use a single layer on the tray when “frying” so that all the food cooks evenly. The basket isn’t very large, about 8” across and 8” deep, but large enough for at least 2 people. It doesn’t have to be warmed up either before using. It shuts off automatically when you pull out the basket to shake, flip or adjust the food. It turns back on where it left off to continue cooking. The digital display constantly switches between temperature and time while cooking. The Chefman Turbo Air Fryer doesn’t get that hot on the outside so it’s great for cooking in the summer when you want hot food, but don’t want to light an oven or use a deep fryer. The basket is easy to remove and seems pretty sturdy. The appliance itself has little rubber feet on the bottom so that it doesn’t slide around when you’re removing the basket. It’s also VERY quiet and turns off automatically when the timer goes off. The timer beep could be a little louder and longer, as sometimes it’s hard to hear if I’m in another room. It only beeps once when the cooking is done. It would be better if would beep at least 3-4 times, similar to a microwave when done. Right now, I’m following the instructions exactly until I get more comfortable using it, then I can adjust time and temperatures for myself. I’m looking forward to trying more recipes and experimenting with different foods. I recommend the Chefman 3.7 TurboFry Air Fryer to anyone that wants a quick way to cook delicious food without lighting an oven or stove. I’m going to enjoy it.

Will Save You On Hot Summer Nights
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's not magical, but it is super practical, especially for health-conscious couples or young families looking to conserve energy and keep their house cooler on hot summer nights. Essentially an electric burner and convection fan combo with a basket, the CHEFMAN TurboFry is a very clean-looking device about the same size as a coffee-maker. The touch-screen is responsive and easy to use/set. The air fryer screen turns on when you push the tray in and has a loud audible beep when cooking is complete. You can easily set temperature, time, and other settings right on that main touchpad. In terms of counter space, it's unobtrusive, although when cooking you'll want to keep the back of the device clear for about a foot (this is where the primary vent seems to be). The handle is thick and well-insulated so hot food is easy to handle and transfer. The basket itself is decently sized - I was able to cook a morning's worth of hashbrowns followed by enough bacon for breakfast and lunch in 2 more sets. While it doesn't save a ton of time in cooking, it did produce a really nice result that didn't stink up the house with the bacon. It also saved valuable pan space that could be leveraged to cook other things at the same time. Experimentation is required for getting just the right temperature and time combo to get the "fry" that you're after. Reheating is actually fairly quick and because it's more even, the food emerges tastier than microwaved fare. Chefman includes a really nice recipe book along with the device which doubles as a de facto manual and a nice primer on the various functions of the device (they do include a quick reference guide for timing and temperature suggestions, too). In terms of prep, the cooking surfaces are easy to clean and top-rack dishwasher safe. There are only two parts to really clean. The basket has a removable internal rack (it is not adjustable). Fresh out of the box, it has that "new oven" smell, so maybe use it outside and/or near an open window the first time. The smell did not transfer to the food and was gone after the first use. The heat from the device dissipates rapidly when off, meaning you can keep your house cooler and use less energy than firing up the oven for that batch of fries or veggies. The serving size generated might be smaller than you're used to, but because it requires very little attention, it can easily be used as a hands-off cooking utility that completes side dishes while you focus on the main dish.
