Touchy buttons that only react 50% of the time when pressed and noisier than many rivals. While this unit cooks fine, it's user experience across controls and functionality seems lacking, even when purchased on sale.

Bought on sale for $69.99, thought I was getting a good deal. Brand new out of the box, fan runs, air fryer never heats up. Bought this for my daughter and she was all set to use it, she put her food in and set it for 15 mins, came back and the food was still raw, fryer wasn't even hot. But the fan ran the entire time. Not going to exchange, just refunding, first impressions tell you a lot.

The air fryer was great, but a few weeks into it the tray wouldn’t stay shut and the air fryer wouldn’t stay turned on. We’d have to hold it in place for it to work. If you get a good one that doesn’t break, it’s a good deal.

It’s not worth it use only once and the touch screen button stops working and can’t return it total waste of mummy ,trying to get in touch with the maker

Very disappointed in the quality and function. Upon opening, we discovered 2 dents in the stainless steel. It was also very difficult to get the tray in and out. We ended up returning the product.

Touch controls don't work well at all. Removable inner perforated plate loses rubber tips and don't fit right. Replacement tips aren't easy to find. It does air fry pretty well.

Pros: - Air fryer had effortless setup—simply clean everything and get frying - Simple to use; simply add the food to the basket then set the time and the temperature. - I thought it was a nice feature that the fryer automatically prompts user to shake contents of basket to ensure even frying - I tested the air fryer by air frying chicken nuggets (twice), jalapeño poppers, fries (twice), tater tots, broccoli, and brussel sprouts. All items worked well. Like many recipes, I found that the time estimates were not accurate. Instead I closely monitored the fryer contents until I found they were cooked to my liking. Cons: - While the basket and tray are technically top rack dishwasher safe, I found it difficult to actually get them to fit in the top rack. - This device is (in my opinion) large and will take up a decent amount of counter space.

As soon as we open the box, the touch panel can't work correctly.

Picked this up for $59 on sale. The fan won't turn on no matter what I tried. Busted on arrival. I had to return as no stock to exchange. The next week I picked up an 8 qt Gourmia from Wal-Mart and the exact same thing happened. Fan will not turn on! What is going on??

Touch screen stopped working after 10months. Hopefully it is still within 1year warranty…

I received this item through the best buy tech insider program at no cost to provide my unbiased review. I have worked with several air fryers over the years, including my gowise air fryer I've been using about 3 years now. I got this to upgrade in size from 5 to 8 quarts. I love how these really do work like a deep fryer without the oil. Day one, I tried breaded chicken and fries at my normal settings from the old fryer, perfect, even, crispy. There is a shake option that comes through at the half way point, on some things I find that a bit unnecessary. I did home made tenderloins later, again set up to old familiar settings, done perfectly. So far works as expected with good capacity. I have racks from my old fryer that work ok in this one. One disadvantage I do have to say with this is there is a frying rack at the bottom, but it does not click apart like a basket and separate from the bin like my gowise. That is very handy for emptying, as well as cleanings. With this you can't dump because the oil will pour out also, or in the least tilt and dump carefully. The temperature selection and time work ok, there are 4 preset settings for chicken, fish, fries, meat, they probably work ok, but like I mentioned, I have used these a while and know where I set them to work for my tastes, and so far this works the way I expected it too. All in all, I'd give this a 5 of 5 for function, ⅘ for design because there is no basket separation from the bucket. Value wise this is similar to competators at this size, and it costs more for that basket feature in this size, 20 dollars more on the few I've seen compared to this Chefman MSRP. This Chefman Item I would recommend.

The touch screen doesn’t work properly but we used it anyway. Now just short of 45 days after purchase, the whole machine won’t work.

Was excited for this purchase because I have a smaller Chefman and like it. Waited 8 days to get product delivered. It finally showed up, I pulled it out of the box got it plugged in and E 1 error code on screen. DOA. Couldn't get an exchange because Bestbuy didn't have anymore in stock. Bummer! I was also let down when I opened it there was a screw sliding around in the cooking drawer and two small dents in the drawer behind the factory sticker. What is going on Chefman? So much for getting in on the 48 hour sale.

This is my second Chefman Air Fryer. Last year we had decided on a smaller Chefman air fryer to see what all the rage was about air frying, and the appliance quickly became a staple in our indoor cooking arsenal. The Chefman Chef IQ 8 Quart Digital Air Fryer is quite simply awesome. It's got a huge 8 quart cooking basket that's covered in a non-stick finish. This is large enough to cook for our whole family (of 3) instead of cooking in batches with smaller units. The operation of the unit is very straightforward. Time and temperature are controlled via digital controls on the front of the unit, and it has presets that you can use for common items (Fries, Meat, Fish, etc..) We end up typically cooking by time/temp - but the fries button does work fairly well. It also has an indicator that lets you know when it's time to shake the cooking basket. If you want crispy food, heed this advice - you want to make sure all the food in the basket has had a chance to be on the outside edge, which will ensure all your food gets a chance to get that delicious crispy edge. We typically use no oil when cooking. Most processed foods (I.e. grocery store fries, tots, etc..) have oil in them already. Home made recipes that do not have any oil get a light mist of oil from the spray bottle and that's all that's required. We use the air fryer every day - so this is an appliance that sits out on our counter, and the black and stainless finish fit in great with the rest of our kitchen. If you have young kids, having an air-fryer is a game changer, which is why it sits out on our counter all the time. Some of the things we cook for the kiddo regularly are chicken nuggets, tater tots, brown and serve sausages, and French toast sticks. All of these items lend well to the air fryer and come out cooked to perfection in well under 10 minutes. Quesadillas are also easy to make, simply wrap them in foil and pop them in. I also use this when making WW friendly recipes - it's so easy to cook healthy meals with little to no oil, but still get that delicious crunch/crispy flavor I crave. If you're on the fence about an air fryer - I'd highly recommend you purchase one - and start out with a larger unit like this 8qt model from Chefman. You'll be glad you did.

Air fryer is only 4 months old and the touch screen stopped working

As far as air fryers go, this one is really nice. It is probably one of the better looking fryers on the market and will fit in to any kitchen that features stainless appliances. Unboxing was a snap. The fryer is pretty much preassembled and ready to go out of the box. I gave the instructions a once over noting that they recommend that you run it once or twice outside to get rid of the very strong plasticy/electronic smell that this thing puts off. In actuality it takes several cycles for it to become tolerable. Plugging in and operating the unit is a breeze. Personally, I don't think the cooking times in these manuals is long enough and I often add several minutes. The touchpad is responsive and easy to use. All of the parts are dishwasher safe which really makes cleanup easy. I was happy to get this large version because I like to entertain for sporting events, usually having people over every other week or so. I like to make a big mess of wings or appetizers and this air fryer does a good job of handling larger meals. The only problem I have, and this is with all air fryers, is that the food never gets crispy enough for me and I often have to cook it for a very long time before it gets well done. I realize that this is a personal preference, but I like my fries and wings crispy. All in all this is a solid unit that performs extremely well for what it is designed to do. I would absolutely recommend.

Awful. Bought this on “sale” on Black Friday just to have it smell like burnt plastic and make all of my food taste like burnt plastic. I’ve tried using it several times and have tried fixing the smell with several different methods and nothing has worked.
