The internal storage capacity of the Chromecast with Google TV is 8gb, and while adding external storage or Secure Digital (SD) card to load content isn’t supported, there are more than 6,500 apps that you can use on Google TV. You can visit tv.google to view which apps are available and learn how to install the apps here: https://support.google.com/googletv/answer/10050570
If there are issues with performance of your Chromecast, we suggest clearing the app cache that might help as having a sizable amount of cache stored would affect its performance. See the steps below:
- From the Google TV home screen, in the top right, go to the user profile icon and select Settings.
- Select Apps and choose the app you're having trouble with.
- If you can't find it, select See all apps.
- Select Clear cache and then Ok.
- If clearing the app cache didn't work, you can try to reset your Chromecast with Google TV by following this step by step guide here: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6254654

Google TV has such an amazing recommendation system that learns your viewing habits and presents you will all sorts of films/television shows relevant to your interests on the home screen. It makes streaming fun and has allowed me to discover many films I would have never otherwise have seen.
