Long overdue upgrade from Google. Fast, easy to use, intuitive operating scheme. No longer need phones or tv remote to watch You Tube TV, Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max etc.

Love this little device. I prefer the user interface for Google TV over Fire TV, though the Continue Watching can be wonky at times. (Maybe that's due to the apps and not the device itself, though.) Before this, I was using a Fire TV Stick 4K but quickly switched over to the Chromecast 100% of the time. There's only 8GB storage which may not be enough for some. I don't have too many apps though so it's fine for me.

I like this new Chromecast with Google TV. 1. It has a useful remote control which I believe is easier to use than a cell remote app. 2. It is 4k capable which makes a difference when I install it for use on my OLED TV. 3. It is Bluetooth capable allow me to pair a Bluetooth headphone for private listening. 4. It allows me easy installation of the apps I use for a streaming device.

First let me say that this is by far the BEST "GoogleTV" experience when it comes to wielding a remote and accessing Google-centric app content. And trust me, I go way back with Google TV products, back to the Sony TV that came with Google built-in and that big clunky QWERTY keyboard. Here's my breakdown: The Good: - Voice response is on point - Streaming options are greatly improved over prior google viewing options - Not limited to casting content, decent variety of apps -Price is phenomenal (I think I paid $49) -A solid value buy for 4K content on a budget - and the picture looks great on a good tv The Bad: - Googles setup process feels like something from 2010. I can't believe how long it took to key everything in and there was no option to use my phone as a remote. -Unlike Apple TV and other platforms, there was no way to set up my accounts and login via physically touching my phone to the device or going to a webpage on a computer to make multiple logins to services easier/faster. -The guy at the Best Buy store told me this was screaming fast and I have a question: For who? While this is the fastest Google streaming device I have used, it still feels clunky compared to my AppleTV 4K. Now to be clear, I'm not saying its slow overall, I'm saying it has its laggy moments that make it feel much less polished and zippy. -Most apps do not have a search field where you can dictate text, so you almost always have to say things in a way where you are asking Google. While this might not sound like a big deal, it's incredibly frustrating when you ask for a show, saying something like "Show me Yellowjackets on tv" and it brings up a YouTube video of actual yellow jackets instead of the Showtime tv series. Other platforms have search fields within the apps where you can press a microphone button and simply dictate, rather than asking in question form and hitting a wall of confusion from the product. All of that said, this is an extremely valuable box and I love the direction Google is going. This works great for a side monitor in my home office that is set up for television or streaming when I have downtime. Though the settings panel is lackluster, the device produces a great 4K HDR picture reliably and without issue and aside the shortcomings mentioned above, it more than gets the job done when wanting to stream. As someone who has used many streaming boxes and many GOOGLE streaming options, I can tell you that this product (in my opinion) is the start of Google finally being on the right path to home streaming.

The new interface and the remote make this a must have. If you are not fully content with your TV's native UI, this Chromecast will completely change that. I thought that nothing could beat the Roku's interface, but this is now the best one. It's a shame that they don't have a direct LAN connection anymore, but still works great. I was also really impressed that I can control my TV and Receiver with the same remote. I can also confirm that this outputs Dolby Vision and HDR. Also it supports the new HBO Max app, I don't know of any other platform that does at the moment. Amazing value for the price!

Best Budget Streaming Stick By Leaps and Bounds

Overall functionality is great and interface with YouTube TV is great. This one is second to only the nVidia Shield, but if you only want to pay $50 vs $150 it is definitely the best choice (granted though for streaming sticks the nVidia Shield is the best one you can get). Note though this one is more difficult to setup for personnel that aren't tech savy (not recommended for grandparents) but amazing for people that love tech. Also note there is no app that I have found that isn't available for this vs the Amazon Firestick, Roku, AppleTV, etc. where they have select apps available to them,

What a pleasant surprise. I've been using FireTV's for years now, but their interface is kind of busy and the OS slow. I'm pretty heavy Android and Google so decided to try the new Chromecast. It's very small, later found out it has an ethernet adapter which is on it's way. Setup of course is easy, the interface is fluid and easy to understand. We use YouTube TV so it works well with it. Also Disney+, Netflix, HBOMax and Amazon video, but no AppleTV yet (Ted Lasso!). The remote is a great addition. It's a little light, but well laid out. Overall for the price I couldn't be happier with it.

Great little device. Works with all the streaming services (including Amazon, Disney+, Netflix, Peacock, Paramount+, and of course Youtube and Youtibe TV) and is especially great if you subscribe to Youtube TV (dont even need a phone anymore for most services). Setup is very easy, although it can take a while to update, and the power cord was a bit short but I used a longer third-party cord. Remote is great but I wish you could customize the apps. Nice to have volume control on the remote as well that is easy to set up with any device (works well with my Samsung TV from 2009).

Works exactly like you would expect. No issues. Easy to navigate and reasonable price. I can easily move it from TV to TV throughout my house when needed. Currently have it hooked up to a TV in the garage but I also use it on my portable projector when needed for the kids.

I now have 3 of these and they work great. My Roku keeps asking me to login to YouTube TV again all the time. I am going to replace that with a other one of these. It is a nice interface, it performs well. The screen saver is also nice to show random art/photos and time, weather info.

I set up a Chromecast with Google TV for my wife's parents. It's the simplest interface for them and they are able to watch shows from a variety of streaming services. Since their interface has suggestions from multiple services on one home screen, it's a lot easier to find shows to watch (without having to open hulu/netflix/apple plus/etc. individually). Also, you can show only services that you have subscriptions to, so if a movie is a suggestion on the screen, you can for sure watch it.

Works as a media hub should. From 4k, the ability to adjust your tv's volume, turn on/off with the provided remote; these are just a few cool features. The only thing that bothers me is a little lag every now and then.

Smooth and Simple Setup, once you get in and enter in your Google account all the apps that you use are already logged in. Immediate access to all your favorite entertainment apps 4K is by streaming quality standards, hardly any sluggishness and screen tethering. Great Product

I have loved the Nest products for a long time. I am imbedded in the Google ecosystem. This product is amazing. I am using it on a projector and although I cant use the volume buttons because my brand isn't supported that's no issue since I have a google home max speaker controlling audio and video outputs (tying the two together was super easy)! I am so happy Google upped their game and beefed up the Chromecast so that I'm not pushing content to it tying up my phone. I have an Apple TV on my living room TV that may get replaced here shortly by another one of these.

The interface is pretty nice overall. I like how it will show the multiple ways for you to watch a tv show or movie if you have multiple services that have it. The remote is pretty good overall. I wish the volume controls were located a little differently. It feels a little out of place sometimes to try and adjust the volume. This device integrates with google assistant well and made for easy voice commands with the remote or my various google home products. Biggest complaint is the dolby atmos support. I could only get Atmos on Netflix and Amazon Prime (and only 1 or 2 shows on Prime). None of the other apps I tried had Atmos support. This was one of the main reasons I bought this device, so to find it not working well was very disappointing.
