I’ve had chromecasts since the first one and love the ease of use. Unfortunately one of the drawbacks on previous iterations was the lack of remote. This meant that my kids needed my phone to watch anything on the TV. I eventually picked up a Roku, but am now glad to be able to return to casting. This new version works great with my 4K TV and I can change the buttons on the remote to launch different apps.

This thing is fantastic. My smart tv was starting to lag and would crash often with different apps. Decided to give this a try and I was very impressed. The remote replaced the one that came with the TV so I didn't have to fiddle with 2 remotes. All the apps that I had on my TV were available, including HBO Max which wasn't on my TV. It is easy to use and set up. Couldn't be happier.

Bought this for my mother in law, she's techno challenged, but can't blame her to much, she was using a firestick, then a roku. A few times a week I'd get a text that her Netflix show was interrupted when the stick would freeze then restart, and wanted to know why. I live over a 1000 miles, why would I know??!!! Eventually on a visit bought this, as the firestick was really hot and the Roku was thrown into a donate pile. The user interface is so old for both of those streaming devices it's insane. After several months now with the Chromecast with Google TV with heavy daily usage of all the apps, more then her firestick had available and definitely more than the apple tv she was considering, it's been very reliable and complaint free. Thank you Chromecast with Google TV being so user friendly and reliable, that anyone from age 1 month to 1000 years old can use it without texting me asking why did their "stories" freeze and shut off!

I really like the speed of this streaming stick. It is a huge upgrade. Also googles voice recognition is very good. The remote works well but was troublesome at first to set up with my TV. The layout of Google TV is very good but like all layouts takes some getting used to. Wish it had the Apple TV app but every streaming stick is missing something. Definitely a huge upgrade from the Chromecast tv sticks.

If you're reading this, don't buy this version because a new one is expected to come out this year. However, my review of this device as it stands is 4 stars. Positives - Excellent price - The UI gives you a feed of content you may like, from multiple streaming services - Live TV included - Google assistant is helpful (better than Roku) - Speak shows and passwords instead of typing them - Multiple user profiles (unlike Roku) - Some people may find the UI a bit messy. I find it helpful because I don't always need to open an app to find what I want to watch. Less jumping in and out of apps. Negatives - Sometimes a bit slower loading things (it's getting old and new model is expected this year 2024) - The UI is not as snappy and smooth as a $100 Roku or Apple TV

We are very happy with this. The interface is awesome. As we are google assistant users, this integrated directly into our home. The voice search is fantastic and the ability to jump directly into context regardless of the streaming platform is the best part. It’s brought up great suggestions and if you’re a YouTube tv user, the live integration is killer. Great picture quality and highly recommended.

So far so good. Set up was pretty simple and I love the fact that it has a remote you can use to give voice commands to Google Home. I was impressed with how it consolidated movies, shows, etc from every service I am aware of including Amazon Prime and the fact that you can install apps on this device. I actually installed Duo on it so all I need now is a camera for my TV. This is a game changer for me.

Easy setup, 4k quality, nice interface, portable. Mainly use for HBO Max streaming.

Could not wait to buy this (I still have my original Google TV box, which worked the same magic, with a set-top box). This makes it so easy to find everything in one place, view instantly, etc. And it means I don't have to activate my Smart TV options, which had security issues I didn't want to take. If you can find a great TV without Smart technology, this resolves that for you at a great price.

I am basing this review to compare it with my Amazon Firestick 4K. I bought this product because the Amazon Firestick is super slow in my opinion. Overall Chromecast feels much faster and I prefer the user interface on this device. It is great that it syncs with your google account also. So I highly recommend this one over the Amazon Firestick.

Made my old smart TV smart again. So easy to use and set up. It has free TV channels, and the remote is to useful, even had voice command to make searching easier. Highly recommend if you have an old TV that still works just doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the newer ones.

Easy install. Works as advertised. It made my older Sony TV "smart" again as I am now able to access Google play store and download streaming apps (e.g., Amazon Prime, Acorn tv). The remote is a nice touch - I don't need to use the massive tv remote to get to the app menu. Google TV presents suggested shows from all my services which makes scanning for entertainment easier.

Fast and easy to setup. I suggest getting this 4k version because its faster than my original 1080p Google TV. And has different colors so i like that

Awesome. Make my 7 year old HDTV much more intuitive to use. Saved me a bundle to buy another TV and saved the planet as I only upgraded the "control" of the TV. I can cast from many apps; also can cast any web content from Chrome browser. Bestbuy delivery speed is remarkable: I ordered 10am at night, it arrived next day noon time.

Setup was easy, and works seamlessly with a 5-year-old Samsung 4k TV that was starting to act up when the internal apps on the TV were being very slow. This product has brought a second life to a TV that was starting to die out. For $40, this has been well worth the purchase to save a TV that was starting to be really difficult to use.

I replaced my old Chromecast device with this Chromecast with Google TV. This is a significantly different device and a very good one. The Chromecast was easy to set up and customize. The remote is quick and snappy. It includes a Netflix and a YouTube button but I seldom use those. Once you are in the system, maneuvering around is easy and the streaming channels are readily accessible.

This is the best google Chromecast to date. Its fast has great little remote which includes one touch YouTube button, one touch Netflix button and dedicated google button. All the latest channels as well such as HBOMAX, STARZ, Disney +, Hulu, Prime Video and so many more. Even gives you suggestions based on your selections. Works with HD, FHD, and 4k televisions. Highly recommended.

I really like the features and the intuitive remote. It makes navigating to what i want to watch easy. Also the ability to change the functionalities of the remote to control your tv easily is excellent.

I recently upgraded to a 4K tv, and was still comfortable with the good ol Chromecast casting where I just cast videos onto the TV. I went ahead and make the upgrade to this new 4K Chromecast, and have been so satisfied so far. The controller works perfectly and the interface isn't clunky. Everything works well, and all my favorite streaming channels are on it too.

Never thought I would give up or change out my Roku, but this made me do so. Its sleek, modern, 4K & Dolby vision ready. But the main thing i love about it, is the incorporation of Google TV! It makes finding shows and keeping up SOOO easy the way it cross references all your streaming subscriptions on 1 screen is genius and convenient. And for $50 its an absolute steal for what it entails.
