The reviews from CNET and Engadget are correct, this is the best version of the ChromeCast device that Google has produced. The menu interface if a much needed improvement. And, with the remote, I don't need my smartphone to control the content I want to watch. Also, I can watch HBOMax on this device, whereas I can't view on the Fire TV stick. The only thing I wish is that I purchased it earlier for the blue color, which is already sold out at Best But. The white color is fine. A great addition for any cord cutter.

Great feature on the google chrome a lot of free apps plus the built in casting they stepped up from the original chrome cast I was a fire stick fan but the chrome cast beats the fire stick

Nice update from previous gen. Interface is very straight forward and the remote comes in handy. Casting to my TV can be a bit buggy though

Great alternative to other streaming devices. In particular, I was looking for a streaming device that could playback YouTube videos in 4K HDR 60 fps. Previously I had been using the Roku Streaming Stick+. However, that device would begin stuttering and prompt an onscreen message that it was overheating when playing back the 4K HDR 60 fps YouTube videos. The Google TV also has the latest UI. The only limitations are: - Some users have reported that is limited storage for a bunch of apps and games and there is now way to expand the storage. - You have to use the power supply included. With the Roku, I was able to power it using my TV's USB port.

Chromecast is magic. I cut the cord and went with YouTubeTV and I purchased four of these for our home TVs. It's plug-and-play simple and allows you to stream all the apps from your phone to your TV. My family thinks I'm a streaming god now! The ergonomics of the little remote are poor. It's hard to hold while pushing the buttons. But it's a minor thing.

The picture just seems a bit better than my Roku 4K stick when playing thru my 4K projector. I like that fact that all content keeps my projector in 4K HDR mode unlike the Roku 4K stick which might be the reason. However, it loses a star due to some of the apps like FandangoNow which do not currently play my 4K movie library with surround sound (plays in stereo). Other channels like HBO and Showtime play with surround sound, so I'm thinking it must be an app issue on the Chromecast. However, no problem with that issue using my Roku 4K stick, so for the time being I have both connected to my AVR and use the 4K stick when playing from my movie library, and the Chromecast for everything else.

I have bought 3 of this Chromecast device. I bought 1 last fall and I have used it regularly. I recently purchased 2 more. One for another tv and the 3rd for a gift. We are very happy with the device and it is not complicated t use. The only recommendation would be to purchase a silicone cover for the remote. I have arthritis in my hands and it would slip out of my hand. It was a cheap and easy fix for me. The cover also helps me know which remote is for what tv in case one gets carried somewhere.

The remote makes a world of difference. The speed difference from the older Chromecasts to this one is night and day. So much better!

I have only had it a few days but so far I love it. So easy to connect. It is easy to use with voice commands or with the remote.

This thing is awesome! It is also a Chromecast too! It is so great how, once you take what feels like forever to sink up all your services and apps, that everything you use is in one GIANT menu. Sometimes it takes me 30 minutes just to scroll through it. Only streaming stick you need! I am getting another one for upstairs too. Only weird part is the services that show up in your menu that you don't have, like I don't have Hulu, but there it is? All in all, high recommendation, as I understand nothing is perfect.

This TV is really really awesome. I used apple tv for several years, mostly used it as a mirroring device to connect my laptop to my TV. It sucks later when I found I cannot connect my mac air to apple tv. Till this point, I finally realized it was such a troublesome way to watch tv. And I did those for soooo long. Chromecast TV is a lifesaver, I don' have to bring my laptop all the time and it automatically connects to my youtube. Buy this instead of apple tv, an expensive junk.

I love this chromecast. The user interface is excellent and the device functions very smoothly. High quality for a great price.

This is a very easy, cost-effective way to make an old TV into a Smart TV. It works as well as my Smart TVs, breathing new like into an old TV that I might otherwise have tried to replace.

All I can say is, “Well, that was easy!” It was easy to set up, and easy to operate. It’s so much better than my old Chromecast.
