Adding this device to an older TV that came with just a few built-in apps turns it into a smart TV on par with the latest models. Streaming from a variety of sources is possible and apps can be added from the Google Play store. Our house is in a fringe TV area, so I added the LoCast app, and this allowed a TV that couldn't be connected to an outside antenna to access all local channels in addition to streaming content and content sent from a laptop via Chromecast.

Love the speed and easy setup of the Chromecast and compatible with all my favorite streaming apps.

A great deal, especially on sale now. They've been discontinued, so get one while you still can. The replacement from Google costs twice as much, and the "improvements" won't be noticed by most folks in reality. Don't worry Google has stated they will still support them, it's the same basic software, new one just has a little more storage memory most never use, and a little faster chipset, but still streams just the same

I love the interface, so much smoother and much more customizable than the others.

I use the chrome cast on two tvs, one is an HDTV without apps and the other is a kitchen TV that is not heavily used. This lets us stream all of our favorite shows or live sports when we are not around our main TV with the cable box. Since they are infrequently used, it’s great to pay once instead of monthly for HD content, and the interface is sooo much better than FiOS or Xfinity.

Chromecast is so easy to install and gives me more options to view on my TV or any TV I use. I like the idea that I can take it with me anywhere I go, on business trips or vacations. I do not leave home for any length of time without it.

One of the easiest streaming sticks to use. Easy setup. Quick response. Controls your sound system and TV.

Works great. Easy to connect and enjoy additional programming channels. Voice commands are an additional plus.

Works on an older tv and the newer ones too. I sometimes need to reset it if it has been a while since we watched the tv in another room.

Received the Chromecast TV 4k yesterday. Purchased, because I had not used my older Chromecast much and wanted to see how this compared to my current 4k Roku. Easy Google setup and added Play Store apps. As an ATT fiber customer, I was able to add HBO max for free. The HBO max app is not compatible (right now) with Roku. Once set up, the interface was faster than the Roku and the remote worked well. This is now my default device and the Roku is now regulated to backup.

Was a big fan of roku. Spent alot of money buying the ultras. But after so many of them going out I decided to switch to Google and never looked back. And much cheaper.

This Chromecast is very snappy, when it comes to using the apps built into the television. I had an issue with my sound bar not taking over audio when using apps built into the TV and using the Chromecast fixed that. I did not sign up for YouTube TV, but this works fine with all of the streaming services that are configured to be used with it. the remote is a little small, much smaller than the Roku, so that is a bit of a negative. The remote also is pretty slippery.

Plug and Play. Works great and the remote saves you from having to use the google home app.

Solid interface. Responsive controls. Reasonable setup. Particularly useful for those who are heavily invested in the Google ecosystem.

Better than the app installed software in Vizio smart TV. So easy to setup and much easier to use while navigating the multitude of apps that you can add on this device.
