Overall the unit does as advertised, its a decently priced 4k media player and casting device. Passed that its very basic. The unit has an awkwardly small amount of apps which is surprising considering that it supports so many casting services. This is the main reason behind my lower rating. Secondly, it feels suprisingly low quality and poorly designed. The unit itself is fine but lacks ethernet support. The remote is the main disappointment. The plastic has a matte finish but scratches easy and is incredibly slippery and odd to hold, the button orientation feels awkward and uncomfortable. I wish that it had a headphone jack like the rokus to give easy private listening. Setup isnt horribly difficult for most people but I can see people who are less technologically inclined to get lost or confused easily. One thing i found very cool (at the same time lacking) is that even if you have an older TV or external audio system you are able to program the remote to control said hardware. But what im lost at is the lack of power control for the audio hardware, it only allows you to control volume. Overall the unit is nice but lacking in my opinion, i will be returning it until there is further refinement and development.

Long time Google fan here, this will be the 3rd Chromecast we have purchased, I have one connected to my main TV and the second in our Bedroom. I have subscribed to several of the streaming services so the only time I don't have something to watch is because I've not turned the TV on! Google is suggesting a lot of content, a few from platforms I dont subscribe to. But I sub'd to some others and really like the content. The darn dog likes the remote and chewed it up. I bought two more and nightly place them where she cant get to. I have also had one remote "wear out" where the buttons just stopped working, So very easy to add remotes, Google does a nice job there.

Great product. Easy to install/ connect. Only issue, Hulu ads lock up access, you need to exit hulu and restart. 4k access is great.

We bought this to stream some concerts from Veeps from an iPad. But we now use it as our primary interface for everything on our Sony TV with Android OS. We cut the cord and use YouTube TV - and a bunch of other popular services. This works so much better than the Android interface on the TV. Do follow the recommendations to plug the power supply into an outlet - rather than your TV.

This is 10x faster than Roku. Love the interface and voice control.

Great for older TV's without all the smart features. Awesome upgrade for Plex users that usually use their cellphone and the older grey chromecast (main reason for trying it was being able to view Plex screen on the TV and not my cellphone). Amazon prime supported. Remote powers on my HDMI connected TV & sound Receiver. Remote works without having to point it directly at receiver.

I use it all the time and it works great! Glitches from time to time but overall solid addition to entertainment area.

Chromecast with Google TV installation was very smooth and it provides all the required functionality. The remote could be a little bigger in size to hold it steadily in the palm without touching some buttons accidentally. Wish they provide an integrated LAN wired port on the device as opposed to having to buy an additional device.

[Employee of bestbuy] I have always used Fire Sticks and Roku, but ever since I got this I don't want to go back. I have all Google products in my house and this is so easy to use. You just sign into your Gmail and that is it. Then you choose your apps. I love this!

Great device for casting and watching your favorite streaming services. This is a big upgrade/step up from the original Chromecast. The setup was easy, its very user friendly and has a lot of app options to stream from. The remote has the necessary buttons to take full control of the device. Definitely worth the price, way cheaper than buying a new smart tv.
