Buying It for Someone Else Sold Me On It

I set it up for someone with not just zero tech knowledge, but something freaky like NEGATIVE tech knowledge, and they were able to use it immediately, so it's really intuitive. Now planning to get one for myself.

It has worked well since day one. The remote premium and good to hold. Setting it up with the Google app was extremely easy. I will definitely be gifting a few of these for the holidays

There are less buttons and the volume is on the side of the remote, so it can be used somewhat intuitively in the dark even though it lacks backlighting.

The only downside is the available on board memory is low and you may not be able to keep all the apps on the device that you'd expect.

Would of gave it 5 stars if I could download the Spectrum Tv app which was why I bought it for. I was under the impression I could do so after googlin it. Other then that I am satisfied with the speed and it’s features. A step up from the old tv I have in the room

Spectrum TV app is not included on the list of cast-enabled apps. Chromecast can’t be used as a Spectrum receiver to access Spectrum TV programming. However, If you're using an Android mobile phone, you can mirror your phone screen to the Chromecast to watch content from the Spectrum TV app to your TV. Here's how:

Good streaming device with remote

Google TV interface does get some getting used to, but I like it. The only issue is that it lags, like it feels like the dongle is just not powerful enough to render the ui. But when you're watching content it's fine.

The best part is that the integrated search function works across multiple apps. Finally a tech company gets it right. The price is nice too. I bought several to replace all of our Rokus.

The daily shows appear automatically, it has integration with all my streaming services. Casting from Android and iOS, I can control it with my voice and integrate it with my routines at home.

Extremely responsive. Easy to install and very user friendly. My only issue is the lack of texture on the remote. Its very slippery. It went flying across the livingroom. Would be 5 stars if the remote wasn't like a bar of soap

All services work well. The remote is functional. The only issue it has - the Samsung TV doesn't allow to pass through the Dolby Digital 5.1 signal from the Chromecast to the soundbar. Other streamers, like Apple TV 4k and Amazon Fire Stick 4k don't have this issue on my Samsung TV.

Its more of a firestik/Roku than a traditional chomecast. My old chromecast was gettung old so it was frequently shutting off. This chromecast will also randomly bave the sceen turn pink, which forces you to turn it off and on. Theres a lot of updates that will need to be implemented if we are being honest but its a great solution to most media needs. Ive even streamed steam link to the Chromecast, which works great on games like Stray or Bioshock but isnt bery great with fast paced games (Rocket League, Sekiro).

Posted .Hi there Jakevns, thanks for trying out the new Chromecast with Google TV (4K). We're glad to hear that you're liking the UI. However, we do apologize for the glitches and difficult experiences you had when casting from your mobile phone and when streaming fast paced games.
Chromecast typically requires a high speed Internet connection of at least 20 Mbps and a reliable Wi-Fi network connection. For faster paced games, it may even require a higher bandwidth. We recommend checking if your current Internet bandwidth is possibly congested, or that it may not be enough to enable the best viewing experience with Chromecast. Removing some of your connected devices to free up some bandwidth space, and trying out Chromecast will help verify the issue. If you verify congestion, we recommend contacting your Internet service provider to check your connection and upgrade it if needed.
Alternatively, you may also contact our Chromecast support team for further assistance if the issue proves to be persistent.
