Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because the majority of the smart speakers in my home are Google Home and the more expensive smart home equipment is Nest including thermostat, Hello, Wi-Fi, and Protect. I figured TVs might as well have more integration too. If you're shooting for that, don't bother. There isn't much more integration than you can achieve with the Hub. The remote is fickle and the YouTube and Mute buttons no longer work on mine after 5 months daily use. The interface is honestly annoying and plastered with very large intrusive ads. To turn off the ads you lose a lot of other useful features like being able to pick up a show where you left off from the home screen instead of opening the streaming app that you want and finding it. I prefer the Firestick and Fire OS a lot more over this. My biggest complaint is that I'm constantly having to remove power and plug it back in to reset cause it freezes often.

No connections issues, though the setup can be finicky at times. However, this new unit doesn't support IPv6 DHCP, only SLAAC. It connected to my Netgear RAX120, but stated there was no internet. However, with my Google OnHubs it would connect, it stated there is internet but the connection would be slow or drop. I ordered the official Ethernet adapter which was even worse. My Ethernet is run through a 10GbE Netgear switch to the 5GbE port on my router. It never connected with the Ethernet adapter until I found someone who found the issue: https://support.google.com/chromecast/thread/77304307?hl=en Google needs to allow IPv6 DHCP to be used, I do not think Netgear should be forced to upgrade their firmware for SLAAC for one device.

If you´re willing to try, we recommend connecting the Ethernet adapter for your Chromecast directly to your router, to see if you will get a connection.
You may also want to try some troubleshooting steps below to see if your Chromecast can connect via Wi-Fi connection:
- Move your router to within 20 feet of your Chromecast.
- Check for possible interference as thick walls and other connected devices may weaken the Wi-Fi signal from your router to the Chromecast device.
- Check for possible congestion with your Wi-Fi network.

-Power saving mode is turned on.
-The devices aren't within 15 to 20 feet from each other.
-The devices aren't updated.
-Battery draining apps that run in the background.
