Works fine until glitch comes up

Sometime it glitches and showing blue screen. I need to restart the device manually to fix this (temporarily works, but still show up again). I will bring this to the store as suggested by the live chat agent I talked earlier.

Save your money until they fix. This is why Google

First thing you will notice, is is probably the worst remote control you will ever use. It is very slippery and the buttons are in awkward position, and when you try to use the buttons to input information, sometimes 2 letters are selected, and good luck trying to open for the batteries. Called Google when the installation failed. Hour on the phone with Google, who did not have any better luck. The next day I tried again, finally got a connection, but remote kept freezing. Reset to factory settings again. It setup gave me the home screen, When I tried to turn the Google TV on later, it would not turn on for twenty minutes. On the phone with support again, reset again. Suggested I use voice to turn on search, no luck, finally after another reset, I gave voice command ofr music, pandora came on and started playing music. Support said to tell chromecast to turn off music by saying stop. Music would not stop, support suggested open youtube. Opened youtube and music kept playing. Support said it may be remote, but to send a replacement support said I had to reset again. I just told then when they fix this item I may try again later. PS I was told this item won't work with AV receivers, which makes it more or less useless.

very cheap quality

Stay away it keep search for wifi

For connectivity issues, it may be related to both the limited bandwidth caused by a congestion of your network or a possible interference. We recommend trying out the following:
- Remove some of your connected devices to free up some bandwidth space and test if you will experience the same issue. Chromecast typically requires a high speed Internet connection of at least 20 Mbps. If you verify congestion, we suggest contacting your Internet service provider for resolution.
- Check for possible signal interference. Placing Chomecast in a direct line of sight to your router and away from other possible sources of interference like a refrigerator, microwave oven, etc. might improve signal reception.

Not So Good For Me

Setup is a pain, device crashed

If you´re still experiencing the same issue, we recommend resetting Chromecast with Google TV to try and fix the issue. Keep in mind that resetting Chromecast will erase all data and that you may need to set it up again. To reset, simply follow the steps below:
With the Chromecast Voice Remote:
- In the upper right of your TV screen, select your profile and then Settings .
- Select System and then About and then Factory Reset.
From the Chromecast device:
- While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV and powered, press and hold the button on the back of the Chromecast. The LED will start blinking yellow.
- When the LED light turns solid white, release the button and the Chromecast will then reset.

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super nice OS I have has issues when turning on sometime gets a black screen and can't get it out of that until I cut the power and it got to the point that al teast I have to do that 1 or 2 times a week. Call them and they blame the TV but I have an amazon firestick and does not do that, it is a glitch on the software, because I tried with another chromecast and same result. I have to stick woth the firestick due chromecast not working as efficiently compared to the chromecast.

Not what I expected from Google.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Weak signal on 5G network, drops connection regularly, even right next to the router. 2.4G is too busy in my neighborhood and equally bad despite strong signal. A Unfortunately I didn’t install until after Best Buy’s return policy as I awaited a new tv, due to the fact that the tv Best Buy supposedly had I. Stock at my local store was not there the day I went to pick it up. Tried with Google ‘customer service’ and after hours of chats and phone calls and being redirected to yet another person telling me to reset, restart, try on a different TV, bla bla, I’m told to send it back to Google and they will send me a replacement B stock. What a horrible experience with Google. I can only hope someone at Best Buy who understands what a hassle Google is will see this and offer to exchange. It is useless. Now using my TV apps. Live and learn. My old chromecast downstairs has stronger signal than this.

chromecast: no blast.

Fine but super limited

Not Best Buy’s fault, the product is as advertised. Its capabilities are just super limited. I wish Google would expand the apps they offer so you could use this to do more things beyond just streaming.

Not easy to set up

Pray you don't have issues

In January 2022 it began having issues streaming. Under settings it says the connection to wifi is "Excellent", but when you try to stream it just sits and spins until it says "No Internet Connection". Can stream just fine with any other PC, tablet, or phone in the house. Restarted the network and Chromecast and no improvement. Ran a speed test from my Google Home Wifi app and it says the connection to the Chromecast is running at 48kbps. Then tested the connection to my ISP and am at over 200Mbps. So something is goofed up with the wifi signal. When it worked it was great. Would have given it 5 stars when it worked. Dropped to 1 star because it is impossible to get support from Google. When you try to contact them you get stuck in a loop going back to the same article over and over again.

We suggest the following steps that might improve the connectivity of your Chromecast:
- If you have a dual band router, try setting up your Chromecast on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more stable.
- Check for possible congestion with your Wi-Fi network. Removing some of your connected devices may relieve network congestion.
- Check for possible interference as thick walls and other devices in your home may weaken Wi-Fi signals.
- Bring your Chromecast closer to your router to get better signal reception from your router.
- Restart your Chromecast and your Wi-Fi router. Unplugged the devices from the power outlet. Leave them unplugged for at least a minute before plugging them back in.
We also suggest clearing the app cache that might help as having a sizable amount of cache stored, would affect its performance. See the steps below:
- From the Google TV home screen, in the top right, go to the user profile icon and select Settings.
- Select Apps and choose the app you're having trouble with.
- If you can't find it, select See all apps.
- Select Clear cache and then Ok.

It's most likely that the issue with your Netflix account is app related. We recommend trying some helpful steps below to fix the issue:
- You may try to uninstall and reinstall the Netflix app to see if it might fix the issue.
- If the first step doesn't fix it, then you can reset both your Chromecast with Google TV and Voice Remote using the step by step guide here:
To reset the Chromecast:
1. Go to Settings.
2. Select System.
3. Select About.
4. Select Factory reset (this is the third option on the About screen).
5. Select Factory reset again, then Erase everything to confirm.
To reset the Voice Remote:
1. Check that the batteries in the remote have remaining charges.
2. Remove the batteries from the remote.
3. Press and hold the Home button Voice remote home button.
4. While holding the button, reinsert the batteries.
5. Hold the button while the LED light is solid.
6. When the light starts pulsing, release the button.

Decent Streaming Device
