Good streaming stick

Useless headache

I tried every guide online and factory reset did nothing. The only option left to try was buying a long Ethernet cable ($40) and running it across my house…..nah, I switched back to the Apple TV and upgraded to the new one and had ZERO issues. Saving that $40 and putting it towards the Apple TV without having to use an Ethernet….like this was just a giant headache and I’ll never recommend chromecast

Remote stopped working 2 months after puchase

After using the product I came to enjoy it. Unfortunately the remote has stopped working and will not come on. I purchased this product because I do not want have to control the Chromecast through my phone. Stopped working 2 months after purchase

We recommend resetting your Chromecast and Voice Remote to help fix the issue. You may follow the steps below to perform the reset.
With the Voice Remote:
- In the upper right of your TV screen, select your profile and then Settings .
- Select System and then About and then Factory Reset.
From the Chromecast device:
- While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV and powered, press and hold the button on the back of the Chromecast. The LED will start blinking yellow.
- When the LED light turns solid white, release the button and the Chromecast will then reset.

Not ready for market

I’ll start a movie or series on ANY app (so it’s not the developer) and the audio will run while the frozen screen shows progress as if it was buffering. Bluetooth audio disconnects randomly or stays connected and makes no sound. I don’t know what else to say. This wasn’t ready for market

Thanks for letting us know of the issues you’re experiencing with your Chromecast with Google TV.
We recommend performing a factory reset on both the Chromecast and the Voice Remote to isolate any software issues.
To reset the Chromecast:
1. Go to Settings.
2. Select System.
3. Select About.
4. Select Factory reset (this is the third option on the About screen).
5. Select Factory reset again, then Erase everything to confirm.
To reset the Voice Remote:
1. Check that the batteries in the remote have remaining charges.
2. Remove the batteries from the remote.
3. Press and hold the Home button.
4. While holding the button, reinsert the batteries.
5. Hold the button while the LED light is solid.
6. When the light starts pulsing, release the button.
After performing the factory reset, you should be able to go through the regular setup process again.

- Reset the Bluetooth device. Turn off the Bluetooth speaker and then turn it back on. After the device is reset, ask them to try pairing again.
- Disconnect other Bluetooth devices. If you have other Bluetooth devices paired with your Chromecast with Google TV, have them disconnected.
- If your Bluetooth speaker connects to other devices, you may proceed with doing a factory data reset with your Chromecast with Google TV. To do the reset, see this step by step guide here: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6254654

Better than any built in smart hub

Not as good as the ultra

This has no ethernet plug in the power supply like the ultra, so you are forced to use wifi. As a result setup was a pain. The cord supplied between the power brick and the chrome cast is too short too, can't run it in a conduit so now I have an ugly wire hanging from the tv..

Better Than A FireStick or Roku

Don't believe the hype

By the time I realized that some apps don't work at all (NBC sports) and some are very glitchy (Netflix), it was too late to return it. I've also grown to hate the cluttered recommendation UI, and if you turn it off you can't use search at all. Too expensive for just a casting receiver.

UI is nothing but ads

This thing is like 90% advertisements for content I will never watch. I usually don't mind Google/Android stuff, but paying $50 for them to shove ads in my face is absurd.

Your Chromecast with Google TV was designed to provide you with a smooth experience. We recommend trying out some helpful steps below:
- Ensure that your Chromecast is connected to your 5 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Remove other connected devices on your Wi-Fi network and see if you will still encounter the same issue. Should you verify congestion, then we recommend contacting your internet service provider for resolution.
- We recommend a Wi-Fi network with 25 Mbps download speed that can ensure smooth 4K experience.
- If it does not work, you may try restarting your Chromecast by going to Settings > System > Restart.
- If it's still unresolved, perform a factory reset on the Chromecast with Google TV.
a. While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV, hold down the button on the Chromecast device for at least 25 seconds or until the solid LED light turns into a flashing red light.
b. Once the LED light turns blinking white and the TV goes blank, release the button. The Chromecast device will begin the reboot sequence.

Not my best choice

My best choice would have to go with Roku or Apple TV 4K than Google
