      If you haven’t yet, we recommend doing the following:
      Reboot the Chromecast device:
      - Unplug the Chromecast device from the power source.
      - Leave it unplugged for one minute and then plug it back in.

      Reboot the router:
      - Unplug the router from the power outlet and leave it for at least 2 minutes.
      - If there is a battery pack, remove that as well and make sure no light is turned on.
      - After 2 minutes, plug it back in and wait for it to completely reboot.

      This behavior is common for network congestion issues (router) and sometimes a device glitch (Chromecast) which normally occurs for most electronic devices.

    Remote stopped working

    My remote stopped working and now I cant even use this. It was good while it worked.

      Hi Sheri,

      Thanks for letting us know of the issue with your Chromecast with Google TV. We're sorry to hear your Voice Remote stopped working.

      We recommend performing a factory reset on your Voice Remote to try and fix the issue:
      - Remove the batteries from the Voice Remote.
      - Press and hold the Home button.
      - While holding the Home button, reinsert the batteries.
      - Hold the button while the LED light is solid.
      - When the light starts pulsing, release the button.

      If you still encounter some issue, then you may also perform a factory data reset on your Chromecast with Google TV with your Voice Remote or on the Chromecast device:

      With the Chromecast Voice Remote:
      - In the upper right of your TV screen, select your profile and then Settings .
      - Select System and then About and then Factory Reset.

      From the Chromecast device.
      - While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV and powered, press and hold the button on the back of the Chromecast. The LED will start blinking yellow.
      - When the LED light turns solid white, release the button and the Chromecast will then reset.

      Your Chromecast comes with a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty starting from the date of original purchase.     One for the dumpster

    Piece of junk. Remote died after 2 months. Tried to get a replacement from Google. 3 hours wasted on a $50 device. When it worked it was pretty cool. Google assistant is nothing short of amazing, integrates well into google apps. But google just doesn’t make as good hardware it seems.

    I bought two of these…one works fine and one keeps glitching. Needed to be re-paired. Now it loses connectivity on the regular (not a modem issue). Best Buy products working as expected 50% of the time = par for the course for Best Buy!!

    Remote stopped working after 2-3 week of use.

    Used it for two-three weeks and the remote gave up. It was hard to really use the remote after that. Maybe I just was unlucky. My prior Chromecast TV lasted for years.

    Must Reboot Everytime

    I have two of these and one of them stops responding while the TV is off and then will not turn on when theTV is turned on. I have to unplug it so it reboots. Would not recommend

    Not Compatible with my TV

    It’s basically unusable because aside from Google Play, all other movie apps display the movies with constant stuttering. The movies are unwatchable on other apps. I tried multiple times to adjust it but nothing worked. I only purchased this because it has Dolby Vision. What a disappointment.

    Is mostly stereo. Even atmos trailers show input as stereo to my receiver. i got it to out put 5.1 once and the next day it was back to stereo with atmos media. Google failed on this product.

For you to enjoy true Dolby Atmos surround, you would need to ensure that the TV, audio receiver and the actual content are capable of Dolby Atmos surround. We advise to check the format of the video content you are attempting to watch. There are some 4K video contents that use 5.1 surround sound. And there are also videos that are true Dolby Atmos surround. The Chromecast with Google TV is capable of handling Dolby Atmos surround sound but it will adapt to whatever audio format the content has.

      - If you have a dual band router, try setting up your Chromecast on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more stable.
      - Check for possible congestion with your Wi-Fi network. Removing some of your connected devices may relieve network congestion.
      - Check for possible interference as thick walls and other devices in your home may weaken Wi-Fi signals.
      - Bring your Chromecast closer to your router to get better signal reception.
      - Restart your Chromecast and your Wi-Fi router. Unplugged the devices from the power outlet. Leave them unplugged for at least a minute before plugging them back in.

    This could be more a criticism of Google Pixel 6A rather than a criticism of Chromecast. The display lagged considerably and made interaction on the big screen arduous and error-prone
