I bought it to use with Google's new live tv service. Looks great on my 4k tv, interface is intuitive, and voice nav works well. Had some wi-fi issues with the first one I bought, but Google basically overnighted me a replacement and it has zero isues.

This is well worth buying! I had the first chromecast ages ago and wasn't that impressed. But this is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade. I love it so much I just bought another and may buy a 3rd. The interface is amazing and so easy to use. All of my services are easy to set up and use on the chromecast. I have a smart TV and have always disliked the home screen with lots of apps on it that I don't use or want. I'm replacing that with the second chromecast I bought and can't wait to show my husband. Oh! I almost forgot the remote control that comes with it. What a wonderful addition. Buy this! The price is amazing and you definitely will not regret it.

The layout is better than Roku or Forestick. The quality of the picture is great. Price is great. I really like that it has its own power button instead of always staying on.

I bought this almost a month ago, and I really enjoy it! I think it's only frozen on me like once, but it was really random, so I am unsure what caused it. This Chromecast makes it easier to select audio output formats to my AVR. This was something my previous Chromecast did not have an option to do. I like the look of the UI, I like the remote, and I like the simplicity and streamlined look of it. I hesitated to buy this because I originally wanted something that could cast my stuff, and that's it. I didn't want any stream box type thing, but luckily you can still do that with this. I ended up liking the UI for it so now I use it!

I am loving this set up! The lil remote is very simple, and I've learned how to "cast" from my phone and watch whatever I want. Now if i could stop losing it in my covers LOL! Its about 6" and white. This has saved me $67.00 per mo on cable costs. YAY!! It was incredibly easy to set up, and if i as a 62 yr old woman who isn't a techy, can install with ease. Put your Phone on and bam! Walks you right thru it. Just get used to it so you can build your preferences and put the things you want access to close at hand. You do need your phone and for us, the Spectrum TV app. The rest is eazy peazy!

    My Favorite Streaming Device

I like the suggestions on the main user interface based on the services I subscribe to. I've tried the other two major streaming devices, but was always frustrated with the user interface. I have tried all the major streaming with live TV services and found Google TV to be the most stable with all the services. This device works well with YouTube TV with a live guide available without having to open the app. I like the ability to pick a movie or show from the main UI and it will open the app to play the movie or show. Now with that said it does have a major setback for many people. At this time Chromecast with Google TV does not support multiple accounts. It does allow for 1 adult account and child accounts but not a second adult account. The remote works great with my Samsung TV and Visio sound bar.

So much promise but falls short

It seems like a great product, the user interface is awesome, but the device itself has too many short comings for me to recommend it. It doesn't have enough storage for the apps so it runs out of memory for updates. Sometimes it turns on to a black screen and has to be unplugged for a few seconds so it will start properly. I really wanted to like it but just has too many issues for me to be able to recommend it.

A really great steaming device that makes great use of the Google TV interface, while still offering casting. The controller is simple but works beautifully and my DualShock controller work great with it. Had to side load game streaming services ( none are yet officially supported) but that was a pretty easy process. The glaring streaming service unavailable on this device is Apple TV+, though casting work arounds exist. At a $50 or less price point this little dongle offers an excellent value, giving you a great Google TV experience, access to all the Android TV apps and Chromecast built in. I highly recommend this device.

    Superior Streamer for Google Users

This streamer is simple to set up and use. It also is more content oriented than apps oriented like Roku is. Up front, you can see recommendations from the streaming services I subscribe to and access a program with one push of a button. I loved my Roku, don't get me wrong, but Chromecast is much faster. I can access apps through Google Play store that I can't get on Roku. The only thing I really don't like is the remote. It's very small and gets lost easily in the white color. It does not control the power on my TV. It turns the Chromecast device on and off but not the TV. Mute and volume buttons work, however.

Long overdue upgrade from Google. Fast, easy to use, intuitive operating scheme. No longer need phones or tv remote to watch You Tube TV, Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max etc.

One of the best media streamers

One of the best media streamers. Granted, better for those invested in the Google ecosystem, but even if you aren't, I highly recommend it. I love the suggestions for shows across all of the streaming platforms. It's actually helped with the Netflix choices dilemma where you spend all your time looking for something to watch. The remote is fantastic and is pretty versatile, even turning on and off your TV and controlling the volume. And the Google assistant hidden within is extremely responsive and quick. You can ask it to watch (most) any video or song, etc. and it brings it up almost instantly.

Bang For The Buck - Nice Product Execution

Works Great and entirely as expected. Talk about bang for the buck. Setup was simple. You may need a grounded, multi outlet extension cord for the short cabled C-USB power block. Remote sync'd with the TV controls without doing a darn thing - Amazing! Our TV's power on/off and volume work from remote so only the Chromecast remote is needed going fwd. Check and make sure the Premium channel app you need is supported. Resolution can be set to auto or any default you wish to 1080. Fully supports Google Home with voice command remote.

Wow! I finally "cut the cord" with the cable companies. If you need a streaming device for your not-so-smart TV this is it! Great product for plain streaming, but excellent when you have YouTube TV. Very fast and no lag...as long as you have proper internet, of course. Interface is clean, attractive and easy to use. Just install the Google Home app on your phone or tablet and get installing. You can do it straight through the TV, but its WAY easier and faster with the Home app, and cleaner when your "room" is listed.

Originally bought this to compared to my 4K fire stick and in the end I’m keeping this one. Overall performance was way better. There are certain apps that I can get that are not available on my Firestick or not even compatible with the Firestick. and a very great feature that is pretty underrated is just being able to cast whatever app or Web video I’m watching, I understand the Firestick does have a mirroring, but it’s not even the same thing

The new interface and the remote make this a must have. If you are not fully content with your TV's native UI, this Chromecast will completely change that. I thought that nothing could beat the Roku's interface, but this is now the best one. It's a shame that they don't have a direct LAN connection anymore, but still works great. I was also really impressed that I can control my TV and Receiver with the same remote. I can also confirm that this outputs Dolby Vision and HDR. Also it supports the new HBO Max app, I don't know of any other platform that does at the moment. Amazing value for the price!

Best Budget Streaming Stick By Leaps and Bounds

Overall functionality is great and interface with YouTube TV is great. This one is second to only the nVidia Shield, but if you only want to pay $50 vs $150 it is definitely the best choice (granted though for streaming sticks the nVidia Shield is the best one you can get). Note though this one is more difficult to setup for personnel that aren't tech savy (not recommended for grandparents) but amazing for people that love tech. Also note there is no app that I have found that isn't available for this vs the Amazon Firestick, Roku, AppleTV, etc. where they have select apps available to them,
