If you use a chromecast, this a must have! I was using my phone to stream to the TV. (My bedroom TV isn't a smart tv. It's in great shape so I don't want to spend money to buy a new one) This upgrade comes with its own remote. I no longer have to use my phone. All my streaming apps are now in one place. The menu is user friendly. You can use remote to power on and off TV plus you can control the volume.

Chromecast stick in 4k what else can i say. Easy to set up and work with cec link just fine on all modern tv that support cec link. Only thing suck is I wish we can add multiple google account, instead of using my own personal account. Not unless there is a way I dont know about or in a later future update. Recommend for anyone who getting tire of their original manufacture os and want to become googlfy.

In my home I have Rokus, Firestick, and a Chromecast with Google TV. This is easily the best of the three devices. Apps run smoothly, the interface is easy to use, and the remote is user friendly... It should also be noted that I programmed my harmony remote to use Google TV due to all of the other home stereo items I have. Anyway, I definitely recommend this product.

I have used Roku, various Smart TVs and, smart blu-ray players but this is my favorite. Google TV is a great interface. I really like how shows from my subscribed services can be seen together for a holistic look at all of my choices. My favorite part is the remote integration with the Google assistant. I can control my connected devices anywhere in the house and not have to carry my smartphone. Well done Google.

I still have the original Chromecast which still works very nice. Then I purchased the third generation one. Then the Chromecast with Google TV came out. It's a fitting update to the Chromecast series, and an update to Android TV. The responsiveness was very fast, and a remote was included. The remote is fast, and the Google TV was easy to navigate. The overall setup was a few minutes. The device functions solid!

Its just easier in my opinion. The ui is simple, my 5 year old was able to figure out how to manuever within the app within 15-20 min. Can set up profiles for childern to use and restrict there apps. It just works.

This is my Go-To streaming device. I purchased this even though I already had a smart TV. The remote is intuitive and replaces all the important functions of your TV remote. The interface is fun to use and easy to switch platforms. On the downside, it came stock with a Japanese interface until I researched how to change languages back to English.

Purchased this when my cable company pushed everyone to streaming. I had a regular Chromecast on each TV already. Did not know how much of a plus the remote control and google TV are. Makes streaming from multiple services a breeze especially when my expensive Samsung Smart TV does not support all the apps I need. Just get one.

At last a fully realized version of Chromecast. It seemed ridiculous to have to stream video from your phone with the OG Chromecast when Roku and others were streaming for years without using your phone or tablet. The interface is fast and easy to use and gives you access to all the most popular streaming services. All that for less money than my OG Chromecast. You can't beat it.

I absolutely love this device. I've been holding off purchasing a new one for a few years, because my older one was still working. I finally bit the bullet, and ordered a new one a few weeks ago, and it's awesome. I haven't had any buffering issues, all of my streaming apps are available on it, it was super easy to set up, and the remote control is fabulous. I can't recommend it enough.

Not bad, Google. This is not like Chromecast of yesterday. This remote can actually control the TV volume. Long pressing on a movie or show brings up a contextual menu so you can add it to your watchlist, rate it, etc. The built in assistant makes it easy to navigate and input text by just talking to it and it is quick. If you have a YouTubeTV subscription then this is a one stop place for all of your viewing needs.

I've been a dedicated Roku user since that were just the software for the net gear streaming box... And after nearly a decade, the interface just feels bland. Plus there's a host of issues like constantly signing you out of apps while this chrome cast with its remote and interface feels like a breath of fresh air. Everything is just smooth and quick. And for a hdmi dongle it's smooth and faster than my Roku ultra.

I have been using Google's Chromecast for a long time (gen 1,2, ultra...) and I've always wished google included a remote. Now that dream came true. The remote is a smart remote and can control your tv & sound device (a sound bar in my case). Setup was every easy and pleasant. I am also happy that Google TV is now included - makes it a much more pleasant experience to search for contact to watch than using your phone.

Love Chromecast for its features, compatibility and ease of use. However, the control that it comes with is not great. Very tiny, slippery and sensitive. However, it does have the ability to sync with your tv, receiver, etc. so you can use it as a single remote for powering on/off the devices, turning volume up/down, etc. It's not just for controlling the Chromecast. The fact that YouTube TV is on this version is pretty awesome too. Overall, happy with it, but not necessarily with the control that they made.

This is the best Android TV bang for your buck at the moment. It's faster than the Amazon Fire TV stick and you don't get constant Amazon bloatware and ad-ware smacking you in the face every time you turn this unit on. The remote is compact and easy to use, the interface is user friendly and it has all of the apps you could ever want. At this price point, this is the best Android TV dongle you could get.

Best streaming device I've ever used. Roku (box and built-in to TV), Amazon Fire (cube, box, stick), Nvidia Shield, Xbox, PS4, smart TV built-in apps--I've had them all. The new Chromecast is superior in every way. Faster, more responsive, more intuitive than other streamers with surprising and fun features. At $50, this product is a significant bargain. Use is easy for children and the less technically savvy.

Pros: The remote and new interface makes it a great buy.... going to hurt roku and fire stick. Google assistant makes it easy to search across netflix, disney+, HBO Max, and more to find the movie or show you were looking for....all at the push of a button! Great update. Cons: Needed to add a usb port for more storage and it is also missing the ethernet gigaport on the power plug. Still a Great Purchase!

I was already a fan of chromecast, but this is so much more than just a streamer. The remote is awesome and the new interface is really nice to look at. As a youtube TV user, I love how live TV seemlessly fits in with the other net based apps like netflix, disney and the rest of them. The only thing that would make it better are (1) up/down channel buttons for Youtube TV and (2) backlit buttons on the remote.

Thus far, after approximately a month of usage, we really like but don't love the chromecast. We have multiple firetv 4k sticks, and overall this is a strong competitor to the firetv 4k stick. We like the feel of the remote, we like the guide, user interface just slightly better than the FireTV Stick. We like that it somewhat supports ATMOS (Assuming the app does, which is frustrating at times). Considering that this is a new device, we hope that over the next few months, the apps will fully support ATMOS, and this will be a real winner.

We also own a Amazon Fire stick and the google TV app is way better, much more responsive and quick as well as far more intuitive. Love being able to cast from my phone to the TV very easily as well as the integration with our google home system. The remote has good clicky buttons which let you know what you are clicking. I would buy one of these for any TV I own.
