The Chromecast with Google TV is nearly perfect, save for a few flaws. The memory fills up fast, even when you have a few apps. With no room for expansion this is a problem. It also loses connection to the remote sometimes, which is a drag but you can download a phone app to pair it. Otherwise we love it.

Middle of the road review which may or may not be fair. Perhaps I should have done more research. I have a boat at a marina that has WiFi service. However, like many hotels, it uses a captive portal for credentials which neither the TV nor this device support. So I was hoping to connect my iPad to Marina WiFi and use the screen mirroring function, connecting the Chromecast to my iPads mobile hotspot, to watch vids. Well, evidently screen mirroring isn’t really screen mirroring. It passes the url of the content. So instead of what I would loosely call a peer to peer network between chromecast and my iPad to share content, it’s chromecast to iPad, to Internet. Sounds like a subtle difference but there does appear to be a huge performance hit.I can watch the content directly on my iPad no problem. If it try to stream it to TV via chromecast, buffering. It does work however.

Chromecast device was pretty easy to setup, and add apps.

These are really good if your tv aint a smart tv. Adds all the apps you would get on a smart tv.

First I didn't like Google TV. Sure it has a lot of things you can get to but I'm old enough to remember when you turned on a TV it just came on and started playing the most recent channel. I hated having to go through several clicks just to watch what I want. How about defaulting to the last thing watched? The design of the remote is really dumb. The thing is like a greased boiled egg. You made it a smooth oval shape so you have to look at it to see which end is pointed where. Give it a shape you can feel so you know what you're doing without looking at it. Also make it easier to hold onto and the buttons obvious by feel. Lastly, I bought several of these things for my house and since I didn't like it and switched to cable (the lesser of 2 evils), the devices appear to be useless. I tried to find out if you can use them without Google TV so I could still use them with my Google Nest. You know, verbal commands stuff. From asking Geek sqd, looking online and asking anyone in your store, nobody seems to know what to do with the devices if you don't have GTV. That's a costly mistake. For people who are disabled it would be great just to be able to use the smart features. Try thinking about people are are not 16 and would just like a practical device. It's too cutesie. I got rid of cable to get this for my home. Cable is too big for their britches and generally sucks as a monolopy. Your senior management people make way too much money to allow doing the minimum. How about trading in 5 percent of your millions to make your company one that people seek out instead of having only one choice? Make it far better. Greed was cool in the 80's. Now it makes CEO's look like money grubbing jerks. Let's get back to real value and service shall we?

Our home is heavily invested in the Google Home and Nest ecosystem, however I originally purchased the chromecast to attempt to seemlessly integrate direct tv stream. At the time of purchase, direct tv stream did not work with this devices, so I returned it. Nice quality device though.

Perfect! It did exactly what I wanted it to do. The bad thing is that now I have like 6 controllers for all my stuff. If only someone could create a universal remote for all of these modern gadgets.

For its price, the very gooo! The buttons on the remote are a tiny bit sensitive I often seen press on the buttons by accident, but maybe it’s because of its round shape, it slides. Overall the product works fine, wish it supported airplay but oh well, it’s google.

Better voice search than roku and I like being able to search and get recommendations across multiple streaming services. Lost a star because a lot of apps are not connected to the search function (e.g. Vudu). There is also just one row listing your apps so you have to scroll through to find anything.

Use it everyday. Some don't like the remote, but I think it's great. The interface or system needs to be rebooted now and again, but I use it all the time.

Finally I've what I needed, u used to have Roku bit hbo max is still not on it. Having google TV I can have all the apps plus my personalized notification... And oh did I mention sport updates. Yey!!! It makes smart tv, smarter. Go get it and thank me later.

Works fast and great! I wish I bought sooner, Being able to talk to the remote is definetly a plus!

Easy to use Is the best chromecast until to date I like it

Setup was a breeze, and I was able to plug in, connect to my WIFI, and start streaming in less than 5min. Quality seems to be pretty good and I was even able to listen to the TV on my Bluetooth headphones while the family was sleeping!

Simple and clean. Funny how Google went from Google TV to Android TV and now back to Google TV branding lol. Also runs games and has Play store.

Got this to replace my firestick, which was crashing and getting slow. This Google one is way better, much more responsive, doesn't crash, has every app imaginable, little bit more than the firestick but it's worth it in my opinion, 10/10

It is perfect. Only reason not 5 stars is that it makes me not need any of the apps or services on my tv itself. Has extra apps I use not with tv alone.
