I was on the fence between Roku or waited for this version of chromecast to come out. I can say that it worth the wait. It turns my somewhat dumb receiver (Denon AVR-S750H) and TV (2016 Samsung 65") to smart again. Overall, very good product.

The Chromecast with Google TV UI is super easy to navigate, it works with nearly every streaming service imaginable, and for $50 it's going be difficult to find something that offers that same combination. Very happy with this purchase.

After several years of using this product, it frequently glitches. It works to make a dumb TV smart, but the glitching makes it difficult to recommend.

Works as advertised. I use it for vacations. Just pack it in the bag and log into a WIFI network. I'm able to take my YouTube TV, Netflix, HBO GO, Paramount Plus ETC with me wherever I go.

The item does what I needed. This device allows me to not only watch various streaming apps I can do it without my phone. I bought it mainly for the Bluetooth capabilities. I can watch TV with my Bluetooth headphones on without disturbing anyone else. It does have some buffering issues if your wi-fi signal isn't strong.

I have been using Chromecast for several years, but this new version is leaps and bounds over the previous. The Google TV apps are great. The remote is super sensitive though.

Works good, takes a little getting used to after using a Roku for awhile. Leave the name as Chromecast keeps assistant from getting confused. Livingroom TV seems to confuse it where Livingroom Chromecast works good. Found this out when trying to display a nest camera on the screen. Once I found that out it has worked great.

It’s ok, as a streaming device and how it’s connected to WiFi…. It’s pretty slow and sometimes doesn’t work. I mainly purchased this for my oculus so others can see what I’m doing and the connection to that is iffy. If there was other devices for oculus I would get that but so far it’s ok

Hi MLKieper, thanks for sharing the details of your feedback on Chromecast with Google TV, We’re sorry to learn of your poor experience with its performance.

Oculus is not officially compatible with Chromecast devices. It may or may not work. With that being said, while using an Oculus device on a compatible Android phone, you may be able to mirror the phone's display to show at the same time on your Chromecast.

There could be several reasons that can affect the performance and connectivity of your Chromecast and we suggest trying the simple steps below that might clear this issue out:

      - If you have a dual band router, try setting up your Chromecast on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more stable.
      - Check for possible interference. Appliances like your microwave oven, refrigerator or even your neighbors Wi-Fi network may cause interference with your Chromecast.
      - Check for possible congestion. Removing some of your connected devices may help relieve some bandwidth space and you may check if your experience will improve.
      - Ensure that your Chromecast is in a line of sight with your Wi-Fi router to get the best signal strength and Wi-Fi coverage.
      - Restart your router, mobile phone and Chromecast.

If the performance issues still persist, we’d be happy to have a closer look into this and guide you with further troubleshooting. You may visit us anytime here for further assistance: https://support.google.com/chromecast/gethelp madebygoogle

I tried the original Chromecast a few years ago. It was not an impressive product. The new version is much better. To me, it resembles the Amazon Fire stick with more options. I find the You Tube tutorials on the device to be especially helpful.

My husband purchased this after we realized our smart tv didn’t offer the HBO Max app. It is so awesome. It’s portable, which means you can move from one tv to another. It has all of the tv apps. Love it!!

Bot exactly 'plug and play' Can't use when traveling if the TV remote can't change inputs. Hard to login to hotel WIFI networks. Would be a good alternative to a SmartTV at home.

Totally different product with Android TV built in. It's great, and avoids the incompatibility of some apps with Fire TV and Roku (like HBO Max). If you are getting into streaming or already are and need a new device, I would recommend this one.

My TV is old. It is a Samsung 1080p which is no longer smart. The CCWGTV is really to replace the old apps that Samsung doesn't update anymore. I didn't have the chance to test all the features, but everything that I wanted works, including the low end Bose soundbar. Can't be happier.
