    I used this for several months and I liked the bright beautiful picture. Then I started to have problems with a spinning symbol in a major streaming video app and not loading. Maybe an update or something caused it. Rebooting seemed to help, but then it happens again. Also seems short on memory for downloading apps.

      A range issue or wireless interference can cause your Chromecast to have performance issues. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. You may also check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the Chromecast and your router as these items could block the connection.       We also suggest clearing the app cache that might help as having a sizable amount of cache stored, would affect its performance. Here’s how:
      - From the Google TV home screen, in the top right, go to the user profile icon and select Settings.
      - Select Apps and choose the app you're having trouble with.
      - If you can't find it, select See all apps.
      - Select Clear cache and then Ok.

    This is a cheap alternative for a apple tv , but sometimes lacks of speed idk if its a software issue but at the end of the day i prefer my apple tv , this is a good choice for cheap option

    Your better off getting a regular 30 dollar chromecast to be honest this one doesn't connect with my samsung sound system and if u have a smart tv already no need to use the remote or apps

    The Chromecast is great, has some good features. The one feature I bought it for is... not so good. I have wireless security cameras that work with Google Home. They're compatible to be viewed through the Chromecast, after setting it up, I can only view 1 camera at a time and every 2 seconds the Pause/Play toggle button would show up and darken the screen. It served me no purpose to keep the Chromecast since I already have Smart TVs, so ended up returning.

    I like the idea, but they don't have all the apps that the Firestick Does. SO I switched to it. I have everything else in my house Google and was really hoping this could be the final piece.

    Within less than a month I couldn't control the remote I thought the battery was out. I changed the battery but it didn't resolve the issue. I took it back to Best buy to get an exchange and the exchange one when setting up it took about 2.5 hours trying to update software system. I had to take it back and The geek squad told me that it is okay I got home blocked in the TV and starts flash, blinking like when the TV doesn't have a good signal. And it keep disconnecting from the internet message popping up saying that something went wrong.

      If your device is randomly disconnecting from your Wi-Fi network, we recommend performing a factory reset. Here's how you can do it:

      With the Chromecast Voice Remote:
      - In the upper right of your TV screen, select your profile and then Settings .
      - Select System and then About and then Factory Reset.

      From the Chromecast device:
      - While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV and powered, press and hold the button on the back of the Chromecast. The LED will start blinking yellow.
      - When the LED light turns solid white, release the button and the Chromecast will then reset.

    Lightly bumping remote causes TV to switch to the google TV. Possibly a defect with my remote. Mostly use Roku.

    I own and have tried every streamer there is out there! From the the Apple tv to the fire tv, I like google products but this was not one! It feel like a rushed product HDR not good plus Vudu is at 1080p I know that is most likely an app problem. The picture is sub par and the remote is cheap just not a good streamer that I was hoping for and trust me i have tried every one around! Returned this and will stick with my favorite Apple tv!

    This product has potential, and Google TV is amazing software. The constant troubleshooting between controlling the actual TV and Google TV will turn you back to the OEM remote.

    Don't buy if your wanting to watch 4k or ultra HD.

    Let's just start out saying this is a 4k device that should be able to display 4k on your 4k television. And it will frame by frame! If you like choppy playback this is for you! The only thing I did enjoy was the menu. Personally I switched to the built in Samsung app and no issues with displaying 4k content.

    ChromeCast is better than nothing, but not by much

    It works, most of the time. But it's buggy and its interface often hangs. The CBS app on it is a disaster, frequently stalling out. Its remote control is too small and too rounded to be held securely in your hand (but it fits into their tiny product packaging so that's what you get). Would I buy it again? It's a cheap stop-gap that has mostly replaced out old AppleTV 1080P but if Apple ever gets their act together and releases an up-to-date AppleTV at a reasonable price, our ChromeCast will go into the "shelfware" pile.

      Your Chromecast with Google TV was designed to provide you with a smooth experience. We recommend on trying out the troubleshooting steps below to see if the issue could be related to factors other than your Chromecast device:
      - Ensure that your Chromecast is connected to your 5 GHz Wi-Fi network.
      - Remove other connected devices on your Wi-Fi network and see if you will still encounter the same issue. Should you verify congestion, then we recommend contacting your internet service provider for resolution.
      - We recommend a Wi-Fi network with 25 Mbps download speed that can ensure a smooth 4K experience.
      - If it does not work, you may try restarting your Chromecast by going to Settings > System > Restart.
      - If it's still unresolved, perform a factory reset on the Chromecast with Google TV.
      a. While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV, hold down the button on the Chromecast device for at least 25 seconds or until the solid LED light turns into a flashing red light.
      b. Once the LED light turns blinking white and the TV goes blank, release the button. The Chromecast device will begin the reboot sequence.
