Cut the cord over a year ago and have been streaming a limited number of television programs from my desktop computer to an earlier version of Chromecast. However, now that I have upgraded to this model, I have greatly expanded the content of what I can watch due to no longer being confined to the computer and it allowing me to download and store apps on my actual television, which is not the latest version of a smart TV. Additionally, having a remote to control it verses my computer mouse is like having cable television without the exorbitant cost.

Love this device and I have a few now. Setup is very simple and you can control a sound bar with it as well. Linking streaming services and learning how to navigate is an easy process. If you subscribe to youtube tv, I'd say this device is a must-have. One item of note, this device requires power from an outlet, most usb ports on tvs won't supply enough power for this thing. It comes with the power cord (usbc to usba) and ac adapter but the cord is about 3 feet in length so keep that in mind as you may need to purchase a longer cord depending on your situation.

I bought these to work on my 4k TVs. I recently got rid of Spectrum and moved to Fiber Internet. I bought the Chromecast to use to Stream my shows I watch. By doing this I saved $100+ by ditching Spectrum and I still get to watch my Favorite shows via Streaming. The Chromecast can do many things by streaming shows, to connecting my cell phone or laptop to it. I am glad I got these.

This is a great streamer. Easy to use. Think of it as an Nvidia Shield Lite. I'd get this over a Roku or Firestick anyday, (I've got all of the above)

Major improvement to TV experience: allows me to avoid the Android interface on Hisense TV (which is unbearable). This version of the chromecast has really outdone its previous versions. It is quick, snappy, and has built in microphone to give 'Hey Google' cues (excellent for movie time, dimming lights, turning them back on etc).. Also makes searching a particular movie/tv show title a snap. Having the Chromecast linked to google home allows me to turn on/off the TV; it can even launch Netflix/Spotify directly from an OFF state via voice command.

Been using for a couple months now, and it’s been working perfectly with no problems at all. For the price it’s worth it!

This is a very easy, cost-effective way to make an old TV into a Smart TV. It works as well as my Smart TVs, breathing new like into an old TV that I might otherwise have tried to replace.

Set up was very easy, this device works well and is reasonably priced.

Pretty cool love that the chromecast finally got the 4k and an actual interface for the apps. If yku live the google ecosystem this is for you.

Works well with both our TVs. Just wish it would be included with the newer TVs so that we wouldn't have to purchase this separately. It is very easy to use once we got it set up. Love the remote!

Finally able to use my 4K tv the way it was meant to be used. Chromecast makes it so easy to display things and I love the remote that comes with it.

Overall, a decent streaming device. The highlight of the device is definitely the operating system, Google TV. Having tested Firestick and Roku, Google TV is clearly the most streamlined of the three. Secondly, this device works perfect if you are using YouTubeTV as your source for TV. It blends live TV perfectly with all of your other streaming shows and movies and makes everything very accessible. Awesome interface and easy to use. Control feels really cheap since it’s so light. Wish it would come in a black version not just white.

The interface is very easy to use and is faster then most on board smart TVs. You can't go wrong with this. The remote is very easy to use as well.

All I have at home is streaming services, I plugged this into HDMI port 1 and never get off That channel, supports all the apps that I use, so it's like one big hub. I have two of these. I plan to get more when I get extra money for each TV in the house, I do have the older model too but this one supports 4K

Great way to speed up an old TV's OS. The new google tv is easy to use

I LOVE this! it is extremely easy to set up and use. I had a 2016 model which I hated, I only used it for a few months. I had to change my Wi-Fi network and it was a nightmare to reset. Funny enough, this happened to me again last week. This new version is amazingly easy to reset! You can purchase a version without the voice remote but I highly recommend you invest the extra $10 and get it, it’s awesome. I will definitely recommend this product.

Awesome piece of entertainment tech. I don't understand why someone who choose a 200 dollar Apple TV over this (usually 50 dollar) item that does the same thing (with a very nice user interface)! It aggregates all the sources for shows (Disney+, Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc) and shows everything you're subscribed to at a glance: what you've seen, what's on your watchlist, etc. It's awesome. Highly recommended. Wish they were built into modern TVs and not Android TV (which is apparently different).
