The reviews from CNET and Engadget are correct, this is the best version of the ChromeCast device that Google has produced. The menu interface if a much needed improvement. And, with the remote, I don't need my smartphone to control the content I want to watch. Also, I can watch HBOMax on this device, whereas I can't view on the Fire TV stick. The only thing I wish is that I purchased it earlier for the blue color, which is already sold out at Best But. The white color is fine. A great addition for any cord cutter.

Very portable, user friendly and fast. Includes all the streaming channels I needed. Only caveat is that it no longer charges with the TV's USB port but with the included adapter.

I have bought 3 of this Chromecast device. I bought 1 last fall and I have used it regularly. I recently purchased 2 more. One for another tv and the 3rd for a gift. We are very happy with the device and it is not complicated t use. The only recommendation would be to purchase a silicone cover for the remote. I have arthritis in my hands and it would slip out of my hand. It was a cheap and easy fix for me. The cover also helps me know which remote is for what tv in case one gets carried somewhere.

The remote is (or was) nice, and the picture quality is great. I think this would be a good product for some people. But there were a few fatal flaws that have pushed me towards replacing this with a shield tv pro. The main detractor for me is the software side. Performance is not as good as I would expect. Reboots are slow, and navigation is frequently laggy. The Plex app doesn't work well at all, especially for 4k HDR content. There are some chromecast-only bugs that can distort video and/or crash the whole system, which seem to be due to the device's video playback API. I frequently found myself waiting for it to chug through some lag before I could get to what I wanted to watch. I'm also not a fan of the Google tv interface overall. It's not very customizable, and the focus is always on "recommend" content, which you may or may not have access to. Android tv, in contrast, allows you to build your own home screen with the content you want to see. With CCwGT, you better hope you will like the recommendations, because they will dominate your experience of the user interface. The remote is very ergonomic and nice to use, but after only a few months the "up" button is wearing out and requires a lot more force to press. It's also very easy to lose... But while it was working fully I enjoyed using it. Overall, it's good for the price. But durability is questionable, considering the remote and the decrease in performance over time. And the user doesn't get as much control over the experience, compared to Android tv or even an apple tv 4k. It didn't quite meet my needs.

Chromecast is fast, affordable, and has all the apps that you would need. It is also very easy to use.

This TV is really really awesome. I used apple tv for several years, mostly used it as a mirroring device to connect my laptop to my TV. It sucks later when I found I cannot connect my mac air to apple tv. Till this point, I finally realized it was such a troublesome way to watch tv. And I did those for soooo long. Chromecast TV is a lifesaver, I don' have to bring my laptop all the time and it automatically connects to my youtube. Buy this instead of apple tv, an expensive junk.

Lack of an Ethernet port could become a problem as the WiFi section of this device seems a bit picky about routers, has given me issue on 2 of the 3 routers in my home, connections dropping and then magically reconnecting, of course after a big buffer to-do with whatever you were watching or should I say attempting to watch. These aren't weak signals either, these are 100% signal strength connections. Maybe I just got a bad unit, either way, next box will have an Ethernet port. Other then this blaring omission, the unit performs well, has the expected amenities, is reasonably fast, responds quickly to remote commands etc., oh it has a nice quality remote as well.

I have only had it a few days but so far I love it. So easy to connect. It is easy to use with voice commands or with the remote.

The remote makes a world of difference. The speed difference from the older Chromecasts to this one is night and day. So much better!

Internet TV without the hassle! Plug it in, type in the password for the internet, and "Gentlemen, start your engines!" WOW, this has EVERYTHING! Oh ... and did I tell you already about the remote which understands what you're saying and just follows your spoken commands to a tee?! (Mind you, the only deceiving thing about the product pic is the fact that it doesn't show the electric wire that you DO need to run from the Chromecast to your outlet. Yes, it is included.)

This thing is awesome! It is also a Chromecast too! It is so great how, once you take what feels like forever to sink up all your services and apps, that everything you use is in one GIANT menu. Sometimes it takes me 30 minutes just to scroll through it. Only streaming stick you need! I am getting another one for upstairs too. Only weird part is the services that show up in your menu that you don't have, like I don't have Hulu, but there it is? All in all, high recommendation, as I understand nothing is perfect.

All I can say is, “Well, that was easy!” It was easy to set up, and easy to operate. It’s so much better than my old Chromecast.
