You can try these steps and see if it'll resolve the issue:
- Reboot Chromecast by unplugging it from the power source for about 2 mins. Disconnect from power source not from TV's HDMI port)
- Reboot router to refresh the connection.
- If reboot doesn't resolve the issue, perform a factory reset. Keep in mind that when you perform a factory reset, all info or data on your Chromecast will be deleted and you'll have to re-setup after. The buffering is sometimes unbearable and the update process took longer than it should because of this too. It's not my internet I have it within 10ft of my wifi router. I will exchange it for a new one when they are back in stock.

Thank you for letting us know of the issue you experienced with your Chromecast with Google TV. We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.
If you haven't returned your Chromecast yet, and want to troubleshoot the issue, you can try performing a power cycle on your Chromecast, and Wi-Fi router to refresh the connection:
- Unplug Chromecast and router from their power source.
- Leave them unplugged for one minute before plugging them back in.
If you're still experiencing the issue after doing the steps above, perform a factory reset on your Chromecast, then re-setup.
To reset:
- While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV and powered, press and hold the button on the back of the Chromecast. The LED will start blinking yellow.
- When the LED light turns solid white, release the button and the Chromecast will then reset.
