This product can do lot more activities than just streaming or casting videos. To name few, the remote has inbuilt mike that can be used for Google Assistant. It can be used to stream live camera on your TV if you have nest camera. It can be used to check temperature on your Nest Thermostats. It has 2 buttons for YouTube and Netflix, just by clicking once you can directly get into these Apps. Previously, I used Xbox One for streaming the TV Apps, but now I replaced Xbox One with this small tiny Google Chromecast.

Fits Into Google Ecosystem Well

I also purchased them because I have most of Google's home devices, so it just made sense. Regarding the parental controls, Google lets you create separate profiles with pins for parents vs kids. This gives me peace of mind that my kids can only access the apps we approve for them. The usability is pretty solid. Make sure you download the latest update, though, before doing the additional profile creation, as that was a recent feature.

I use it on the same TV as my PS4 because I don't like the media player on the PS4.

Cheep TV upgrade

The only issue is that it does not do Apple TV. It is easy to setup and use.
