The item I received from the market partner seller was the 2020 model of this. Less storage and processing power. Global Mobile tried to pass the $50 version off for this $200 model. They wouldn't make it right by sending me the proper one when I called them out on it and just made me submit for a refund which they did provide after refusing to send me the proper item. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they just grabbed the wrong one off the shelf since they physically look the same but they by the end, I felt they tried a bait and switch to get rid of their old inventory. BestBuy said they couldn't help since it was a market partner, even though their site says they stand behind all their market partners... Long story short. Just make sure you're actually receiving what you ordered and paid for. As stated, they look the same so you may not realize you received an old inferior model.

I was unable to do so natively so I tested with another Chromecast that I already have. After working with sub par quality i decided to pick up the 4k ver. which also has smart features. Well the quality didn't change for gameplay viewing but i can't blame that on the Chromecast, I also think this is a great pick for anyone with an older tv that doesn't have smart playback.

I did my homework by going over several product reviews and videos. So glad I settled on the Chromecast with Google TV. Wifi setup was straightforward, as was setting up my Google Home app. What I had to get used to was signing up and logging in to other apps, and navigating to all the free tv/videos I wanted. Not hard to do, but a different experience. I'm still working on optimizing my device and looking forward to adding more apps. Got to remember to clear the cache once in a while whenever navigation gets a tad slow.
