Better than Roku, solid connection, good resolutio

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed this on my television that already has embedded Roku, due to limitations on streaming services carried by Roku along with the tendency of the Roku tv to lose its Wi-fi connection regularly. I've been really happy with the Chromecast device. The resolution appears better than the Roku on the streaming services, and it's always maintained a solid connection to my 5 Ghz Wi-fi network. I've already added a second one for the main bedroom tv.

Great streaming device with an overpriced remote

Android TV is the main OS and you can search from all of your streaming services at once. If you use YouTube TV, it is integrated into the main screen of Android TV and works welll. You can still connect from a mobile device like you could with the older chromecast. The remote works great until it doesn’t. I had to buy a new remote from Google (Best Buy doesn’t sell them) less than a year after buying this. The remotes are $30, when this set is only $50.

The remote is too slick and I've dropped it a few times. It still works fine but still pretty slick. Be careful holding it. The buttons are a little small and I'm not a fan of the preset buttons of Netflix and YouTube. However, I DO understand why there's a YouTube button as Google owns YouTube anyway. Netflix...maybe you don't have that. I don't know if you can reroute it via software but it'll always physically say "Netflix" on the button unless you put tape or something on it. Good device though!
